Abstract

Natural feed has a very important role in supporting the success of aquaculture. The availability of natural feed is a key factor in the seed / fry phase, where at that phase the fish are still unable to consume additional feed, namely pellet feed. The objectives of this activity are: (1) Introducing Artemia, Improving the entrepreneurial spirit and entrepreneurial motivation, (3) Increasing the knowledge and abilities of SMK Ibrahimy 1 Sukorejo students in terms of decapsulation and artemia culture. This activity targets the fishery students of SMK Ibrahimy 1 Sukorejo, Department of Agribusiness, Brackishwater and Marine Fisheries. Service activities are carried out using lecture and demonstration/practice methods. Evaluation was carried out on the ability of participants to practice artemia decapsulation and artemia culture, indicators of the success of this practice are theoretical and practical knowledge of Artemia sp culture. The success of this activity can be seen from the very high enthusiasm of students and the increasing knowledge of students about the decapsulation of Artemia sp. The obstacle that is used as an evaluation in this activity is that several additional tools are still needed to maximize the decapsulation practice of Artemia sp.

Abstract

Introduction: The availability of food sources influences the abundance of insect pollinators. The interaction between plants and insect pollinators is a symbiotic mutualism. In addition, the use of a plant barrier could attract insect pollinators in foraging activities. The study aimed to determine the effect of plant barrier on the abundance of insect pollinators and the yield of chili pepper. This research was carried out on agricultural land in Lumpoknyo village, North Luwuk, Banggai Regency, in July - December 2020. Methods: The research was carried out using a randomized block design, and four treatments, namely chili plants without barriers and covered with nets (P0 or control), eggplant plant barriers (P1), plant barriers with Zinnia sp and Cosmos caudatus (P2), and tomato plant barrier (P3). Observations were made every day at the time of flowering for 14 days. Sample collection of insect pollinators is done by taking insects that visit chili flowers using a sweep net. Results: Three species of insect pollinators were collected, namely Bembecinius sp, Ceratina sp, and Nomia sp. 730 individuals were found on eggplant barriers, 660 individuals on Zinnia sp and Cosmos caudatus barriers and 592 on tomato barriers. The highest individual is Ceratina sp (810 individuals), followed by Nomia sp. (799 individuals), and Bembecinius sp (373 individuals). Chili pepper cultivation using eggplant barrier yielded 4,93 kg/plot, Zinnia sp and Cosmos caudatus barriers 3,96 kg/plot, tomato barrier 3,62 kg/plot, and the lowest yield was shown in chili pepper fields covered with insect nets. of 2,00 kg/plot. Conclusion: The barrier system using eggplant is considered effective for increasing the abundance of insect pollinators and the yield of chili pepper.

Abstract

Shrimp growth patterns will dynamically affect feeding patterns and organic waste conversion in the pond ecosystems. The purpose of this study was to determine the dynamic correlation between the amount of shrimp biomass, feed, and the solubility of organic matter in the shrimp pond ecosystem at the Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Islamic Boarding School Sukorejo, Situbondo Regency. The research method used is an ex-pose facto causal design with time series field data collection. The data taken are water quality parameter, pond water organic matter parameters, feeding data, shrimp sampling data. The results showed that the water quality parameters in aquaculture ponds were still quite good, namely pond A1 pH value 8.2, temperature 29.20C, dissolved oxygen 5.58 mg/L, salinity 25 ppt, and brightness 37 cm. For pond A2, the pH value is 8.1, the temperature is 29.20C, the dissolved oxygen is 5.52 mg/L, the salinity is 25 ppt, and the brightness is 34 cm. From the results of dynamic modeling analysis, it is found that there is a close correlation between the feeding process and the amount of waste generated in the pond with a ratio of 1: 2.86. then the process of shrimp growth rate is correlatively strongly influenced by the factor of feeding which is carried out in an aggregated manner. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that according to the interpretation of the results of the analysis of the dynamic modeling system, there is a positive correlation between the increase in the amount of shrimp biomass with the quantity of feed and the abundance of organic matter in the pond which is estimated to take place in an aggregate manner.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the suitability of water quality parameters in intensive white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation activities based on Good Aquaculture Practice (GAP) quality standards implication practice. This research was carried out with the ex-pose facto causal design concept during one cycle of shrimp cultivation, with the indicator being studied was the condition of the water quality parameters which were then corrected with the GAP standard according to the Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 75 of 2016. The results showed that the condition of the water quality parameters during the cultivation period was still in accordance with the GAP quality standards, except for the alkalinity parameter which had a value of 157 mg/L and organic matter 104.43 mg/L, both values were above the GAP quality standard threshold. The abnormal condition of the two parameters was caused by unpredictable natural and seasonal factors. This can be seen from the trend of the temperature and salinity parameter graphs that fluctuate unstable. Furthermore, for technical parameters, the cultivation system at the research site was still in accordance with the cultivation quality standards listed in the GAP. Based on the discussions, it can be concluded that the water quality parameters at the research pond location as a whole were still in accordance with the GAP quality standard which refers to the Minister of Fisheries Regulation No. 75 of 2016, except for the alkalinity and organic matter parameters which had a slightly worse concentration than the GAP quality standard.
