Abstract

The method used in writing this article is a literature review study with a systematic review method. The articles reviewed were obtained through searches on Google Scholar, Pubmed, Proquest, and ScienceDirect in the period 2015-2025 with the search keywords being Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Medication Compliance, Compliance Factors, Medication Supervisors . By using PRISMA, from 10,697 articles found, 10 journal articles were obtained to be reviewed. Based on the analysis of several studies, factors that have a significant influence on patient compliance in taking medication are the level of knowledge (p = 0.002), family support (p = 0.000; PR = 8.17 ) , and support from health workers (p = 0.000; PR = 6.10). Social Marketing, Frailty Syndrome and Age were also found to have a relationship with DM medication compliance. In addition, the use of technology such as medication reminder applications (PMO) has been shown to help improve patient compliance in undergoing DM2 therapy. Compliance of DM2 patients in undergoing drug therapy is influenced by various factors, including level of knowledge, social support, social marketing, age , frailty syndrome, and use of technology. Therefore, strategies to improve compliance must involve an educational approach, strengthening the role of families and health workers, and utilizing digital-based technology to increase the effectiveness of DM2 therapy.

Abstract

Equal access to health services remains a challenge in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC), including in Indonesia. One of the efforts to improve access and the quality of services at Primary Health Care Facilities (PHCFs) is the implementation of the Performance-Based Capitation (PBC) system, which includes indicators such as the Contact Rate, Non-Specialist Referral Ratio, and Controlled Prolanis Participant Ratio. However, the achievement of these indicators has not yet been fully optimized. In 2022, national data showed that the Controlled Prolanis Participant Ratio indicator reached only 3.78% of the ≥5% target. Meanwhile, in the first semester of 2024, the average Contact Rate achievement at BPJS Kesehatan Semarang was only 149.14‰, slightly below the ≥150‰ target. Efforts to optimize PBC performance require in-depth analysis of the factors that influence it, including the characteristics of PHCFs. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of PHCFs and PBC indicators. This research is a quantitative analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design, using PBC indicators data from the second semester of 2024 obtained from BPJS Kesehatan Semarang. The sample includes all PHCFs that are contracted partners and receive capitation payments from BPJS Kesehatan Semarang. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis with SPSS Statistics. PHCF characteristics that were significantly associated with PBC indicators (p < 0.05) included type of PHCF, ownership status, and number of registered participants

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy is still a public health problem in Indonesia that affects mothers and babies. The government has implemented a supplementation program for iron tablets (IBT) to prevent anemia, but the compliance of pregnant women with these tablets is still low. Various factors, such as lack of awareness, side effects, and mothers’ perceptions of the importance of IBT, contribute to low compliance rates. This study analyzes the impact of the main reasons for not taking IBT on the number of tablets consumed during pregnancy based on data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI). This study used an analytical cross-sectional study design with secondary data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey. The independent variable was the main reason for not taking IBT, while the dependent variable was the number of tablets consumed during pregnancy (≥90). Data analysis was performed using correlation and regression. The results showed that the main reasons for not taking IBT were forgetting (30.39%), nausea/vomiting due to pregnancy (21.57%), bad taste and smell (12.60%), and side effects (12.57%). Most pregnant women did not reach the recommended consumption amount, with 60.37% consuming less than 90 tablets. The reason with the most significant influence on compliance was “not yet up to the end of time” (R=0.344, R²=0.117, p=0.030). The main factors influencing compliance of pregnant women in consuming iron tablets were perception of the need for supplements, side effects, and lack of awareness. Increasing education, social support, monitoring strategies, and reminders for consumption are needed to improve pregnant women’s compliance with iron tablets to reduce the incidence of anemia in Indonesia.
