Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of technological advances, self-efficacy, peer conformity, and parental demands on student cheating behaviour in Economics at SMAN 5 Padang Gunung Talang. The study used a quantitative approach with an associative descriptive design. The study population consisted of 271 students, with a sample of 134 students selected using proportional random sampling based on Isaac and Michael's formula at a 5% error rate. Data were collected using a 1–5 Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. All instruments were declared valid and reliable. Data analysis was performed through prerequisite tests and multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results showed that technological advances and peer conformity had a positive and significant effect on student cheating behaviour, while self-efficacy and parental demands had a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, all four variables had a significant effect on cheating behaviour. These findings indicate that cheating behaviour is influenced by individual and social factors, thus requiring the joint role of schools and parents in strengthening students' self-efficacy and academic ethics.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of authentic assessment in economics learning at SMA Negeri 6 Padang and to analyze its impact on students’ learning outcomes. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of one economics teacher and 30 students of class XI IPS. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of learning instruments. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings indicate that the teacher has implemented authentic assessment covering attitudes, knowledge, and skills; however, the implementation has not been optimal due to time constraints, the dominance of cognitive-based tests, and the incomplete development of assessment rubrics. Project-based and portfolio assessments were found to increase students’ engagement, understanding of economic concepts, and learning outcomes. This study recommends strengthening teachers’ competencies in developing authentic assessment instruments to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of economics learning evaluation.

Abstract

This study analyzes the partial and simultaneous effects of students’ perceptions of the Merdeka Curriculum and critical thinking skills on the economics learning outcomes of Phase E students at SMA Negeri 8 Padang. The research employed a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The population consisted of 348 students, with a sample of 186 students determined using the Slovin formula through random sampling. Data on perceptions of the Merdeka Curriculum and critical thinking skills were collected through questionnaires, while learning outcomes were obtained from documentation. The instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and prerequisite tests included normality, heteroscedasticity, homogeneity, multicollinearity, and linearity. Further analyses involved multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²), processed using SPSS version 25. The results show that students’ perceptions of the Merdeka Curriculum had a negative and significant effect on economics learning outcomes (t = –12.295; p = 0.000 < 0.05), interpreted as low perceptions being accompanied by higher outcomes due to increased independent learning efforts. Critical thinking skills had a positive and significant effect (t = 3.126; p = 0.002 < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables had a significant effect on learning outcomes (F = 75.582; p = 0.000 < 0.05). The R² value of 0.452 indicates that 45.2% of the variance in economics learning outcomes is explained by the two variables, while the remaining 54.8% is influenced by other factors outside the study.

Abstract

The global economy is currently facing major problems such as social inequality, environmental damage, and lack of access to economic education for the people. Economic education for the people is an important way to achieve inclusive sustainable development in this regard. This article aims to examine how economic education for the people helps achieve the three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 8 relates to economic education for the people, decent work, and economic growth; SDG 10 relates to reducing inequality; and SDG 12 relates to responsible consumption and production. According to this study, economic education for the people has the potential to shape economic behavior that is oriented towards sustainability, cooperation, and independence. This is based on a literature review conducted by various national and international sources. Since micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia employ around 97% of the workforce and contribute more than 61% of GDP, there is ample evidence that the people's economic base plays a strategic role in supporting SDG 8. Economic education that emphasizes economic democracy, equal access, and social solidarity also helps reduce inequality (SDG 10) and encourages more sustainable production and consumption practices. This article also emphasizes that the people's economy must be further integrated into formal and non-formal education systems as a long-term policy strategy. Therefore, people's economy education is beneficial for both national development and fair, inclusive, and sustainable global development plans
