Abstract

Kelompok Sadar Wisata or Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) Desa Wisata Sungai Masjid Kabupaten Dumai have been improving their rural tourism. One of their services for tourists or guests is providing welcome drinks. Therefore, the objective of our program was to introduce butterfly pea, how to plant and how to utilize the flowers particularly for improving hospitality such as welcome drink and welcome kit. Butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea L.) plants are known relatively easy to grow and possess chemical properties good for human health. We delivered our program to POKDARWIS Desa Wisata Sungai Masjid ss our partner through the oral presentation and demonstrated video. We also gave seeds and seedlings of butterfly pea to the participants. Our partners did not know about butterfly pea flower before participating in our program. They showed their enthusiasm and curiosity, particularly during the discussion session. Results of the questionnaire indicated that our program was useful to enhance their knowledge and provide inspiration to improve their life. One week later, after the training, the POKDARWIS had their program which adopted our program such as sowing and planting butterfly pea seeds and seedlings. Based on the results, we conclude that we have conveyed our program successfully and inspired our partners to produce butterfly pea-based food and beverages.

Abstract

Jamur Kuping (Auricularia auricular) merupakan salah satu jamur yang dapat dibudidaya di Indonesia. Budidaya dari jamur kuping sendiri dapat menggunakan media tanam jamur yang sering juga digunakan dalam budidaya jamur lainnya. Media tanam tersebut terdiri dari beberapa bahan seperti serbuk kayu, dedak bekatul, kapur, dolomit dan air secukupnya. Serbuk gergaji merupakan bahan dasar pembuatan media tanam. Selain gergaji bahan tambahan yang dicampur dalam baglog jamur yaitu kapur dan bekatul. Perlakuan adalah penambahan bekatul dan lama sterilisasi K1 : bekatul 5%, 3 jam, K2 : bekatul 5%, 5 jam, K3 : bekatul 5%, 7 jam, L1 : bekatul 10%, 3 jam, L2 : bekatul 10%, 5 jam, L3 : bekatul 10%, 7 jam, M1 : bekatul 15%, 3 jam, M2 : bekatul 15%, 5 jam, M3 : bekatul 15%, 7 jam. Pada perlakuan M2 pertumbuhan jamur yang lebih cepat baik dari segi pertumbuhan miselium maupun pertumbuhan tubuh buah dari jamur kuping tersebut

Abstract

Butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea L.) known as ‘bunga telang’ is perennial plant originated from Indonesia. Butterfly pea flowers are edible flowers known to have active compounds such as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-cancer. These plants are grown at a lot of house-yard in Kampung Eduwisata Sungai Alam and are commonly used for natural dye for food and beverage. Therefore, objective of our programme was to introduce simple method for producing butterfly flower tea to Pokdarwis (Kelompok Sadar Wisata) Kampung Eduwisata Sungai Masjid. Result of the programme indicated that the participants were really enthusiastic involving in this training. Based on result of the questionnaire reveal that most of participants have positive perception to the training that contributing to improve their knowledge and skills in processing butterfly pea flowers. Percentage of participants who understand how to process the flower increase from 20% to 100% after the training. In addition, butterfly tea can be a commercially distributed that may improve economic level of the Sungai Masjid community. Furthermore, our programme motivates the community to take a part in conservation of natural resources.

Abstract

Used oil waste is often dumped on the ground around the workshop, causing soil pollution which can reduce the function of the soil. The most difficult contaminants in used oil waste to decompose are hydrocarbon compounds, which are highly toxic, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The concentration of oil hydrocarbon contaminants in a sample is determined by measuring the total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) concentration. This study was conducted to determine the germination ability of Helianthus anuus, Less seeds on soil media contaminated with waste oil at different concentrations of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH). The results showed that the concentration of TPH in the media could inhibit the speed of seed germination. Treatment with low concentration of TPH 2.7% in the media increased % germination, shoot and root length and sprout biomass compared to the medium/intermediate (8.00%) and high (12.26%) TPH treatments and controls. However, there was no significant difference between all treatments regarding germination time and shoot length, although in the low TPH treatment (2.70%) there was a tendency for germination time to be faster than the other treatments, as well as to shoot length which was longer than the other treatments. The higher TPH concentration in the media can inhibit germination time, germination percentage, shoot and root length and biomass. Morphological observations of the growth of sprouts showed an inhibition of root hair formation along with the high TPH content in the media, but all treatments did not affect the growth of the shoots.

Abstract

Desa Sungai Mesjid memiliki keindahan alam dan budaya Melayu yang masih terjaga. Pembentukan Kelompok Sadar Wisata (POKDARWIS) Alam Sungai Mesjid membuat potensi Desa sebagai desa ekowisata mulai dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Peningkatan pembangunan di Dumai membuat berkurangnya daerah resapan air serta penanggulangan sampah yang kurang baik turut memberi dampak tergenangnya beberapa daerah di Desa ini. Masyarakat berkeinginan mewujudkan desa yang hijau minim dari sampah dan genangan air jika hujan namun terkendala dengan pengetahuan dan biaya. Edukasi dan pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan pembuatan biopori sebagai resapan air dan penghasil kompos akan dapat mengurangi genangan air hujan dan mengatasi sampah organik. Metode penerapan kegiatan berupa presentasi, diskusi kelompok, praktek pembuatan lubang biopori, pemberian peralatan serta monitoring keberlanjutan pasca kegiatan. Selama kegiatan pelatihan terlihat adanya motivasi dan kesadaran masyarakat akan manfaat biopori. Pembuatan biopori tetap berlanjut pasca kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat secara mandiri dan menjadikan teknologi pembuatan biopori sebagai salah satu paket eduwisata Desa Alam Sungai Masjid, sebagai upaya edukasi kepada masyarakat luas dan daya tarik wisata. Kata kunci: biopori, desa wisata, eduwisata, genangan, kompos Abstract Sungai Mesjid has wonderful scenery and Malay culture that are still preserved. The development of the Alam Sungai Mesjid Tourism Awareness Community (POKDARWIS) made the potential of the village as an ecotourism in order to improve the community’s economy during the Covid-19 pandemic. The increase in recent development in Dumai has reduced water catchment areas and poor waste management, and also impacted the inundation of several areas in this village. The community wants to create a green village where is minimal from garbage and puddles when rain falls, but it is constrained by knowledge and costs. Education and empowerment of society by making biopore as a water catchment and producing compost will be able to reduce rainwater puddles and overcome organic waste. The method of implementing the activity is a presentation, group discussion, practice of making biopore holes, provision of equipment and post-activity monitoring of sustainability. During the training activities, it was seen there were motivation and public awareness of benefits biopore. The development of biopore continues after the activities carried out by the community independently and makes biopore technology as one of the edutourism packages of Alam Sungai Masjid Village, as an educational effort to wider community and tourist attraction. Abstract

The Mina Usaha Fish Cultivation Group (Pokdakan) is located in the Rumbai Bukit area, Rumbai District, Pekanbaru, Riau with patin fish as the main aquaculture commodity. Community service activities that overcome the problem of cultivated fish often experiencing mass mortality have been carried out in the first year by increasing knowledge about aspects of aquaculture activities. The problems faced by cultivators in terms of providing quality feed and pond sedimentation rate have also been carried out in the second year. In this third year, processing and marketing activities for various quality patin fish products based on the online market are carried out. The harvest from the Mina Usaha Pokdakan cultivation pond has not been processed optimally into processed products due to the limited knowledge and skills of cultivators in product processing. Assistance and coaching in the processing of harvested products and the development of marketing of various quality patin fish products based on the online market are the main focus of service activities. The activities carried out are preparation for implementation, surveys and market analysis to identify superior patin fish products, discussions and consultations to design product development strategies in tandem with online platform development activities, delivery of materials to empower cultivators in the aspects of maintenance, processing, and improvement of product quality and materials on the use of online platforms, and the implementation of diversified products is carried out through product procurement, promotions, and online advertising. The products that were successfully made were nuggets, fish balls, and surimi. This frozen food product has also been successfully sold through the online market. Implementation evaluations are carried out on an ongoing basis to ensure the effectiveness of activities and allow for adjustments if necessary. The results of the evaluation showed that the enthusiasm of the participants who participated in the activity was very high.

Abstract

Most women in Tarai Bangun Village focus on their domestic activities. The community service program aimed to empower women in the enhancing of their economic productivity through gaining new skills such as the eco print technique. Ecoprint is an eco-friendly product, using parts of plants; therefore, it also inspires women to preserve the existence of local germplasm. The results of the program showed that all participants were able to make ecoprint products. They also were satisfied with this program. However, the drawback of this program is that our partners need to understand marketing techniques.

Abstract

Desa Rumbai Bukit Pekanbaru memiliki potensi perikanan yang cukup besar, terutama dalam budidaya ikan patin. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalisasikan pemasaran produk olahan ikan patin melalui pemanfaatan pasar online. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan metode pelatihan secara langsung yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan dengan melibatkan mitra para pembudidaya ikan patin dan masyarakat di Rumbai Bukit Pekanbaru. Tahapan 1 yaitu identifikasi masalah dan kebutuhan pembudidaya dan masyarakat; 2. pelaksanaan pelatihan dan workshop; 3. pendampingan dan 4. evaluasi dan monitoring. Produk olahan ikan patin memiliki potensi pasar yang besar. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini telah berhasil membantu para pembudidaya dan pelaku usaha olahan ikan patin di Rumbai Bukit menggunakan pasar online sebagai alat pemasaran yang efektif. Produk olahan ikan patin yang telah dikemas yaitu nugget, bakso, dan surimi. Produk-produk ini dibuat dari daging ikan patin segar berkualitas tinggi yang dipanen langsung dari kolam budidaya Pokdakan Mina Usaha dan dipasarkan dalam bentuk frozen food. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pemasaran digital; peningkatan penjualan dan jangkauan pasar; dan pengelolaan pengiriman yang lebih baik. Capaian dari 4 kriteria pertanyaan pengolahan produk ikan patin, seperti pengolahan produk ikan patin, pemasaran produk olahan ikan patin, harga produk olahan ikan patin, dan prospek pengembangan usaha produk olahan ikan patin masih dibawah 60%. Namun demikian sudah bisa dikatakan memadai untuk mengoptimalisasi pemasaran produk olahan ikan patin melalui pemanfaatan pasar online.

Abstract

Spent mushroom substrate (SMS) is an organic compost medium produced from the mushroom cultivation process. The chemical composition of SMS includes 22.86% cellulose, 19.71% hemicellulose, and 10.24% lignin. The aim of this study is to determine the optimal biosorbent mass for lead (Pb) heavy metal biosorption and to analyze the characteristics of the best biosorbent using tests such as SEM, BET, XRD, FTIR, and lignocellulosic tests. The constant variables used are a contact time of 30 minutes, a stirring speed of 150 rpm, and a biosorbent size of 100 mesh. The variable to be tested is the biosorbent mass (0.5, 1, 1.5) grams. The results showed that the highest removal occurred with a biosorbent mass of 0.5 grams, with a biosorption capacity of 1.160 mg/g and an efficiency of 65%. SMS has rough, cracked, porous, and fragmented pores, with a surface area of 1.4666 m²/g, a pore size of 43.1569 Å, and a crystallinity degree of 1.89% from 5.30%. The lignin content is 13.93%, hemicellulose 9.25%, and cellulose 16.15%, while FTIR testing indicates the presence of hydroxyl, amino, carbonyl, and phosphate groups.
