Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of the composition of wood powder, rice bran and corn flour to grow mushrooms on the growth of white oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus Linn.). The research was carried out in February - May 2023 in Noelbaki, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The research was carried out using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and each was repeated 3 times. There were 3 baglogs for each treatment so there were a total of 15 baglogs. The treatments were: Po = 100% wood dust (control), P1 = 85% wood powder : 10% rice bran : 5% corn flour, P2 = 75% wood powder : 15% rice bran : 10% corn flour, P3 = 65% wood dust: 20% rice bran: 15% corn flour, P4 = 55% wood powder: 25% rice bran 20% corn flour. The parameters measured are the initial time of mycelium growth, the time of mycelium fulfillment, the time of fruit body growth, the width of the hood (cm), the length of the stalk (cm), the wet weight of the fruit body (gr) and the dry weight (g). The measurement data were analyzed using variance to determine the effect of the treatment given on the changes observed. From the results of this research it can be concluded that the composition of the mushroom growing media from wood dust, rice bran and corn flour can influence the start of mecelium growth, the time to fulfill the mycelium, the number of fruit bodies, the width of the cap, the dry weight and water content of white oyster mushrooms, the composition of the growing media. The most effective fungus is in treatment 4 with the following ratio of 55% wood dust = 770 grams, 25% rice bran = 350 grams, and 20% corn flour = 280 grams, the greater the amount or mass of rice bran and corn flour, the greater the further accelerates the growth of white oyster mushrooms.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze: the relationship between creative thinking skills and learning outcomes with student biology retention in POE learning. This type of research is descriptive correlational. The population in this study were all odd semester students of the 2023/2024 Academic Year, Biology Study Program, 1945 NTT Teachers' Association University. The sample used was class A students in semester 5. Data analysis using multiple linear regression showed that there was no relationship between creative thinking skills and learning outcomes and student retention through Predict Observe Explain learning. This is caused by students experiencing difficulty in extracting information stored in their memory, the time interval between carrying out the retention test and carrying out the posttest causes the information that students have to be eroded, there is interference so that the information is mixed with other information or shifted by other information.

Abstract

School financial management is a crucial factor in supporting the provision of educational facilities and infrastructure, particularly in border areas facing various resource constraints. This study aims to analyze the application of financial management in providing school facilities and infrastructure in the border area of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and the Republic of Timor-Leste (RDTL). The study employed a qualitative approach with a multiple case study design in four schools: Kota Baru Public Junior High School, St. Antonius Padua Sasi Junior High School, Noemuti Public Senior High School, and Fatumfaun Public Junior High School. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that the implementation of school financial management varies across schools, particularly in aspects of budget planning and funding source management. Noemuti Public Senior High School had the best financial management with a score of 96%, while Kota Baru Public Junior High School received the lowest score of 62%. In terms of facilities and infrastructure, Fatumfaun Public Junior High School received the highest score of 92%. Although basic learning facilities are relatively available, some supporting facilities are still limited. The findings of the study indicate that planned and transparent financial management plays a crucial role in supporting the provision of educational facilities and infrastructure in border areas.

Abstract

Purpose –This study aimed to develop and examine the validity and reliability of pedagogical adaptability and contextual digital learning development instruments for senior high school teachers in the NKRI-RDTL border area.Methodology – This study employed a quantitative approach using an instrument development research design. The study involved 64 senior high school teachers and four expert validators. Instrument development was carried out through the stages of theoretical construct development, indicator and item blueprint formulation, expert validation, instrument revision, field testing and validity and reliability analysis. Content validity was analyzed using Aiken’s V, empirical validity was analyzed using Pearson Product-Moment correlation, and instrument reliability was analyzed using Cronbach’s Alpha.Findings – The findings showed that the developed instruments had high content validity, with Aiken’s V values ranging from 0.88 to 1.00. The empirical validity test showed that most statement items were valid, while the reliability of both instruments was categorized as high to very high. These findings indicate that the developed instruments are appropriate for measuring pedagogical adaptability and contextual digital learning development in border areas.Contribution – The novelty of this study lies in the development of instruments designed based on the characteristics of learning in border areas, particularly in relation to the demands of adaptive and contextual digital learning. The developed instruments can be used as assessment tools to map teachers’ personal capacities more accurately and to support teacher competency development programs in border areas.
