Abstract

Small medium enterprise (SME) Mr. Honey is an SME that is run by a student of Agribusiness Department Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau in Pekanbaru City. The product is still very simple, nevertheless demand on Mr. Honey’s product is still continuing. This may happen due to some attributes on Mr. Honey’s product that become the consideration for consumers, so the consumers keep purchasing the product from Mr. Honey. The research aims to analyze the consumers’ characteristic, consumers’ attitude, and to figure out the performance of SME Mr. Honey. The results showed that the characteristic of Mr. Honey’s consumers were single and productive young female, acquiring higher education, as well as having proper and well paid job. The attitude of consumers was positve, shown by the score 20.18 which meant it was good.The performance on attributes that must be maintained by SME Mr. Honey were hygiene attribute, originalitiy, ease in obtaining, and fair price. Meanwhile, the attributes that were include as main priority to be improved were the attachment of nutrition facts on the product, brand, Label of National Agency of Drug and Food Control, and also packaging of Mr. Honey’s products.   Keywords: Attributes, Consumers’ Characteristics, Consumers’ Attitude, Performance

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the guidance role of palm oil plantations in the rock. To know the empowerment of the oil palm growers self-help patterns in the rock.Conduct an analysis of the achievement of education is seen from better farming, better business, and better livingAnalyze the influence of the role of education forem power mentan dem power mentin fluenceon the destination extension in Bukit Batu subdistrict. The data collection method using survey methods. Type making purposive sampling of respondents with oil palm farmers in the non-pattern excl. the rock. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis using a Likertscale, SPSS17, and Amos. The results showed1). The roleof extensionof theactivities ofoil palm cultivationin the district of Bukit Batu"quite instrumental".2) The level ofself-empowerment of smallholders pattern in the districtof  Bukit Batu"quite instrumental". 3) The purpose ofthe pattern ofnon-extension of smallholders in the districtof  Bukit Batu"good". 4) The relationship counseling roletowards the empowerment of a relationship with a value (15.415) means there isa relationship, and relationship counseling empowerment to ward sthe goal of a relationship with a value(4.927). Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the dynamics of self-supporting oil palm farmer groups includes the goals of group, the group structure, function assignment, construction and group development, the unity of group, group condition, the effectiveness of group, group pressure, and covert intention. This research conducted in Panca Mukti Village and Pasir Putih Village Bagan Sinembah District Rokan Hilir Regency from March until December 2015. The research method used surveymethod. Determination of respondents by purposive sampling with consideration that the farmerswerethe farmer groupsmember.The number of samples as much as 52 members of the farmer groups. Data analysed by using the Scale Likert's summated Rating (SLR) method.The results showed that dynamics of farmer groups inBagan Sinembah Districtincluded in "High" category, its means that farmer groups can improve cooperation among members to achieve the goal of group and became a dynamic group. This can be seen from the goal of group sub-variables included in "Very High" category, while the group structure,function assignment, the unity of group, and the effectiveness of group indcluded "High" category, but the construction and group development and group condition still categorized in "Medium",but group pressure group and covert intention categorized in "Very Low". This matter represent positive resultat farmer groups in Bagan Sinembah District. Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effective extension of media used by farmers in the cultivation of rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) and goal attainment white root fungus control counseling viewed from the aspect of knowledge, attitude and skills of farmers in the village of Gunung Bungsu XIII Koto Kampar subdistrict, as well as analyzing media relations counseling towards the achievement of objectives in the Village of Gunung Bungsu extension XIII Koto Kampar subdistrict. The number of samples taken as many as 74 people from 14 farmer groups interviewed as respondents. Retrieval technique is purposive sampling of respondents. Data analysis was done descriptively and then converted to Likert Scale's Summated Rating (SLR) and Rank Spearman. The results showed that the use of agricultural extension media field (PPL) is more effective than the media leaflets and goal attainment extension as seen from the aspect of knowledge, attitudes and skills achieved enough. PPL media relations with the achievement of the objectives of extension seen from the aspect of knowledge has the power of a very strong relationship with a correlation value is 0,833 while media relations leaflet with the achievement of the objectives extension as seen from the aspect of knowledge has a low correlation with the strength of the correlation is 0,236.   Key words: effectiveness, media outreach, rubbers farmer, and controlling white root fungus

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level participation of member as owner and determine the level participation of member as client or consumer. This research using survey method. The sample determineusing bysimple random sampling. Analysed data were descriptive with using Likert’s Summated Rating Scale.The results of research provided that participation level of members as owner reside in medium category, which mean the members ofcooperatives saving and loan Hati Nurani have enough participate in taking decision, in capital contribution and in cooperation observation. The participation of members as client or consumer reside in high category, because the members have actived participate in exploitingservices which provide bycooperation. The participation of members in decision making, shall attendance members in meeting of members annual and in given suggestion or criticism shall more improve in order to help the foster growth of cooperation. Participation in cooperation observation shall more improve through a members involvement although in cooperation had formed  supervisor team.   Keywords: participation,saving and loan cooperatives, scale likert’s

Abstract

The objective of this research is : 1) Analysis the amount of working time of woman  in the household and productive business of  Nucleus Estate Smallholder (NES) farmer family. 2) Knowing the factors that affect the working time of woman in Nucleus Estate Smallholder (NES) farmer family. 3) Knowing the pattern of decision-making of woman in Nucleus Estate Smallholder (NES) farmer family. The research used a survey method and sampling as many as 32 samples. Analysis of the data using Ordinary Liest Square (OLS) and Likert Scale’s Summated Ratting (SLR). The result showed that the average working time of productive woman in the village of Sari Galuh is high at 33,74 hours / week when compared to average of household working time of woman are only 22,82 hours / week.The factors that affect working time is age factor, experience working factor and family dependents factor. The pattern of family decision making is dominated by a woman or a farmer’s wife.   Keywords: working time, decision-making, Nucleus Estate Smallholder (NES)

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) Know implementation of extension and work motivational factors that influence agricultural extension  on sago commodity in Meranti Islands Regency; (2) Analyze the work motivation level of agricultural extension agents work motivation who looked from internal and external factors and analyze how far the influence of each factors to agricultural extension agents work motivation on sago commodity in Meranti Island Regency. This research was counducted in Meranti Islands Regency. The research method used purposive samling with looked at the extension agents by its region and according to area and sago plantation in Meranti Island Regency. 30 extension agents taken as respondents. The research used validity and reliability analysis. Analysis of data for the first purpose using the Scale Likert summated Rating (SLR), while for the second purpose used multiple regression analysis. Research results showed: (1) The execution of counseling Meranti island Regency is already well underway. (2) extension officers work Motivation on commodity sago Meranti Island Regency are on the category “ Medium” and the factors that affect the motivation of extension officers work on commodity sago Meranti Island Regency personal maturity factor, namely, the desire to work, fatigue and boredom, good supervision, compensation, job satisfaction, and regulations has no effect in real and influential in the real work environment. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse household food security over village food resilience Programme Participants at Sei Geringging Village in Left Kampar District of Kampar Regency. Sampling using purposive sampling method (75 people) with 30 people respondents. The result shows that the availability of food at Sei Geringging Village in Left Kampar District Kampar Regency in 2013 as village food resilience disable to provide food for villager because from eight kinds of comestible, threre are just side dish, vegetables and fruits available from the village. Total distribution of respondent income is IDR 66.339.750,00 which are 75,77% main income and 24,33% other income. The average of respondents expends is IDR 749.028,00 in which 78,88% for food expenditure and 21,12% for non food expenditure. Aspect of food consumption indicate that people have a good knowledge for food and nutrition at score of 3,70 (knowing category), in practicing prefer to fill the food needs without taking seriously for nutrients and energy standards that must be filled every day instead. That is illustrated by the number of calorie 1.197,57 Kkal which is far below from Food and Nutrients National Widya Karya Standard (2.000 Kkal and at 42,48%  lower than rular calorie consumption in Riau Province.   Keywords : village food resilience, food availability, food distribution and food consumption

Abstract

This research aims to analyzedthe execution of counseling and analyzedthe performance of agricultural extension officer, in the district of Gunung Toar Regency Kuantan Singingi.Research using survey method was carriate out from November fill April 2015 in sub Gunung Toar district Kuantan Singingiwith the largest amounted of rubber farmers and a rubber plant large a mount in Riau Province. Sampling is caried out againts census 5 extension officers in the UPTD plantation sub Gunung Toar. Execution of counseling in analistis are descriptive and extension officers motivation with scale likert. The motivational variable refers to the theory of extension officers in Kadarisman Saydam (2012), with respect to internal and external factors. Research results show that the extention of counseling in the sub Gunung Toar was alreadygood, where the extension officers LAKU system using the methods with the extension in the form of print, extension officers amountedto 5 people with education level of 60 percent SMA/SMK/equal and 40 percent of the graduates, number of villages built average 2-4 village per extension officers. The perfoemance extension officers in the district of Gunung Toar Regency Kuantan Singingi was “Good enough” score average (3,79).   Keyword:Agricultural extension officer, execution of counseling, performance extention officers

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) Analysis the amount of working hours of women in the household and productive businesses of family palm oil innate pattern farmers 2) Knowing the dominant factors that affect the working hours of women in household palm oil innate pattern farmers; 3) Knowing the pattern of decision-making of women in family palm oil innate pattern farmers. The research used a survey method and sampling as many as 32 ​​samples. Analysis of the data using Ordinary Liest Square (OLS) and The Likert Scale's Summated Ratting (SLR). The results showed that the average working hours of productive women in the village of Pantai Cermin is high at 36,46 HKP/week when compared to average of productive working hours of women are only 20,39 HKP/week. The dominant factors that affect working hours is factor revenue wife. The pattern of household decision-making is dominated by a woman or a farmer's wife.
