Abstract

PTPN V PKS-SPA is a state owned company that produces Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Kernel. The problem that happened in this company is a material transfer distance is too far. Thus it is necessary to redesign the production floor to minimize material displacement distance. The design of the production floor layout will use the method of Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) and also with the help of software blocplan. SLP method is a method in the layout of the production facility that is able to overcome the problems of production flow by means of analyzing the flow of materials, make some diagrams, and then make alternative design and ends with the evaluation of the design. While blocplan software is a program that helps in planning the layout of the production facility in rectangular shapes by using input data including qualitative and quantitative data. With SLP method and also software blocplan obtained three alternative production floor layout. The first alternative is the transfer of a total distance of 78.5 m, 80.5 m alternative second and third alternative is 68.5 m, so that a third alternative selected for the smallest distance moved by the flow of materials. After alternate layout is determined, then the design of the production floor layout drawn in SketchUp software.Keywords: layout, SLP, blocplan, SketchUp

Abstract

measuring clock or Dial indicators is a comperator device. typically used in industrial activities in particular at product deviation, because it has good accuracy. Precision and accuracy is the closeness to the true value, can be defined as the closeness (cloness) between the values read from the measuring instrument to the true value. The use of measuring devices which have high accuracy and good will generate accurate measurement data and vice versa use measuring devices that are not good or accurate, then the results obtained are not accurate. This study aims to determine the accuracy of measuring instruments by varying the motor speed to the drive dial indicator with helix methods, and large roundness deviation (Roundness Tester Machine). The result showed that the roundness deviation for each speed roundness of the lowest value and the highest at speed 0,040 m / s is: MCC = 0.008 mm to 0.124 mm, MZC = 0.008 mm to 0.122 mm, MIC = 0.006 mm to 0.029 mm, and LSC = 0.005 to 0.085 mm. Then to the speed of 0.046 m / s roundness deviation obtained MCC = 0.007 mm to 0,186 mm, MZC = 0.005 mm to 127 mm, MIC = 0.005 mm to 0.121 mm, LSC = 0.005 mm to 0,113 mm, while the speed of 0.071 m / s roundness deviation obtained for MCC = 0.094 mm to 0.611 mm, MZC = 0.047 mm to 0,153 mm, MIC = 0,050 mm to 0.107 mm, LSC = 0.042 mm to 0.111 mm, the speed of 0,040 m / s is closer to the data than the speed of other mandrel, the effect of instrument error is evident from the table 4:20 on four very large positions are not accurate Measure tool is e (mm) = 0.0830 or e (%) = 42.17, and the roundness deviation at speed of 0,040 m/s by the largest outer circle the minimum is 0.124 mm, the inner circle is 0.122 mm maximum, the minimum of a circle area is 0.122, and for the least squares circle is 0.042 mm. Abstract

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) or often called friction welding is one of the mechanical welding methods using friction between the surface of the tool and the surface of the material so that friction occurs and causes heat on the surface of the material for the welding connection process. The friction surface impacts translational motion caused by the rotational pressure of the tool and axial force (forging) to push the friction surface. Retrieval data that will be varied on translational motion speed starting from 12.5 mm / minute, 20 mm / minute and 25 mm / minute. In this study the shape and dimensions of the material used were 100 mm long, 50 mm wide with a thickness of 5 mm while the types of tools used in this study used a type of cylinder with dimensions of 6 mm pin, 25 mm shoulder and 50 mm tool length. In this study the data collection process uses thermal devices and jigs. Where the function of this thermal heater is to lift the temperature of the material that is in accordance with what is needed (melting point). And the function of this jig is to grip or clamp the material on the position of the horizontal milling machine. The purpose of this study was to study the method of pulling welding friction using the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) method on nylon 6 material using the ASTMD-638-IV standard.Keywords : Stir friction welding, weld surface, friction weld, polyamide polymer.

Abstract

DFMA is defined as the design of a product or component which can facilitate the process of manufacturing and assembly process with other components to become a unified product. The grinding is a process that plays an important role in the production process or machining process. The belt grinder machine has a working principle by turning a belt-shaped sandpaper stacked on 4 rollers driven by an electric motor. This belt shaped round sandpaper is used to grind a surface such as drill, lathe tools and knives. Development of a simpler design is needed to increase the efficiency of time reduction in the assembly of belt grinder machines. Design development does not change the functionalities of each component of the product. The beginning of study, calculating the efficiency assembly of belt grinder product owned by Suheri's (2018). The next is development process of combination and elimination of components that do not affect the added value of the product. Suheri's belt grinder (2018) has 64 components with assembly efficiency of 7.29% and the results of engine design development have 43 components with assembly efficiency of 9.59%. Abstract

The advancement of industrial automation technology is growing rapidly. The existence of technology in the computers field, mechatronics allows the creation of automation systems on machine vision. Machine vision is a machine that can obtain information from an image or digital image automatically, taking digital images using a camera and laser in the form of lines, added in the imaging method that obtains 3D images of objects so that the volume of objects can be measured. Laser beam that hits objects and reflected objects form a triangle. In this study, the triangulation method was applied to the machine vision to measure logistics packages. In Indonesia, freight forwarding services measure the volume and weight of objects that are the basis for determining shipping costs. Volume is used as a determinant of costs if the mass is small, while the weight for the large volume. This machine vision tool have functions to measure the volume and weight in the long run which is fast and accurate. In this study, machine vision is desined and built of capable measuring various forms of logistics packages by using a camera and laser beam to record images on a rail connected to a drive motor. The camera moves translatively over the logistical package, when the camera position in the middle of the drive motorbike stops for a moment , the camera will record the image to take the volume of the package and load cell takes load data, then the motor moves back to its original position. Simultaneously the lower motor will drive the driver the package reach the storage area, the motor moves back and forth until the pusher returns to the starting position and the next measurement is carried out. Long wave red laser spctrum, digital camera, microcontroller, triangular measurement method, portable machine. With this mechine vision, the work done by several people will be done with one person, so that it will reduce costs and the time needed will be faster. Abstract

The logistics packages sent consist of various types of sizes and weights, so shipping costs are determined by the weight and size or dimensions of the goods. Almost all logistics companies in Indonesia still use conventional and separate methods in determining the volume and weight of logistics packages that play a role in determining prices, namely by measuring the dimensions of logistics packages using meters to obtain volume and then measuring the weight using the scales. To overcome the above, the idea was to create an Automatic Bulk Measurement and Dimension Machine that can process volume and weight measurements automatically at the same time making it more efficient. In relation to mass measurement, researchers will design devices related to mass or commonly called digital scales that use load cells with a capacity of 50 kg. Other supporting components are the Arduino Uno and HX711 modules as input signal amplifiers, where the analog data obtained will be received by the ADC which will be converted into digital data. Digital data will be processed again by the Arduino programming language to display the results on the LCD in units of gram (gr). Based on testing, with the same variation in load placement, the best position of the load is obtained when measuring mass, which is in the middle of the base with a percentage level (%). And the measurement results by varying the nominal load at the same interval where the load is placed in the middle of the base, then the percentage level (%) is obtained with an error of 0.032% and the percentage success rate of tool measurement is 99.968%. Abstract

Crane lifting equipment widely has been used in the world of industry and automotive. In the automotive industries, the crane is used to lift car engines and other similar proposed. In the design of this is required an ergonomics study of knowledge and the relationship between humans and machines, the interface between them. The purpose of this research is to produce a crane design to lift the car engine which structural analysis using the simulation on Autodest Inventor software and produce a crane design with consideration of ergonomics. In the design restricted crane design using software autodest inventor and engine period used maximum 300 kg, on crane design with consideration of ergonomics science only discussing of the force of the crank, the position of attraction and the position of thrust. The frame design process starts from choosing the frame form, followed by simulation on Autodesk Inventor. While the process for consideration of science carried out manual calculations. Based on crane frame simulation results was obtained minimum safety factor value of 2.72. In the position of push and pull handlebar which safe consideration was in obtained the same value that was at 68 cm slopes. It is concluded the framework still safe and the force gained for cranking that is not too heavy, in the process of pushing and pulling the instrument easily moved.Keywords : crane, ergonomics, simulation inventor and safety factor

Abstract

Light gauge steel is the latest innovation in overcoming material problems in the use of roof construction,especially the roof of the house. Generally, the construction of the roof of the house was made of wood, butbecause of the scarcity of wood made there should be a diversion in the use of materials. The use of light gaugesteel as a roof construction of the house has not been fully accepted by all of societies in general, due toconcerns in its strength. So this thesis discusses about the strength of the material and search for a better profilewithout any reduction of the existing structural material in the market. The profile design is the development ofan existing profile design or commercial profile. Testing of the comparison of new profile design results withcommercial profiles is done by simulation of Autodesk Inventor 2010. Simulation results are in the form ofcomparison of numbers. Abstract

Motorcycle repair shop management is to manage the motorcycle workshop to be effective and efficient. Good workshop management must also be supported by a properly administration, in order to record all the resources that become workshop assets. Moreover, the motorcycle workshop also conducts spare parts sales to complete the replacement needs of broken vehicle spare parts. This study aims to analyze and design a workshop information system for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) engaged in the field of repairing of motorcycle. Generally the SMEs motorcycle workshops in this research, still uses a simple management system and manually in presenting the data required by the workshop. This it make difficult and inconvenient for the owner of a small and medium-scale of motorcycle workshop. Sequence, it is necessary to optimize the management system and change the simpler manual system to be computerized. One way is by implementing the 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methods and creating an information system that can manage equipment in SMEs scale of motorcycle workshops. Stages of the method in this study: (1) survey of general workshop management SMEs scale, (2) do analysis of data obtained during the survey and provides input for workshop management based on 5S method, (3) to design and create information systems and databases using PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) as the programming language and MySQL as the database. By implementing 5S management and this information system can help streamline the services of SMEs scale of motorcycle workshops.Key Words: Motorcycle Workshop management, 5S Method, PHP, MySQL, Information System.

Abstract

The electronics industry is the fastest growing manufacturing industry in the world, as well as the increasing amount of electrical waste and electronic equipment that has become e-waste. This study refers to the potential economic value of handling e-waste from used television's cathode ray tube, then proceeded to handle using the 3R principle (reduce, reuse and recycle) from disassembling the cathode ray tube, separation of reusable components, and the usage of recycling technology to recycle non-usable components as raw materials for new products. From the utilization stage of e-waste, it can generate economic value from dismantling and recycling process, before going through the process of disassembling the used television's CRT which valued by used goods collectors for Rp.20.000 - Rp. 40.000,- unit. After they had gone through the process of recycling and utilization of electronic components that can be resold, it obtained an increase in economic value 54.7% of the price to buy the television’s CRT waste from used goods collectors, thereby indicating a significant increase in economic value through the recycling of television's CRT so that the e-waste processing can minimize e-waste, and enables a new business field that is quite profitable.Keywords : Cathode Ray Tube, E-waste, Reduce, Recycle, Reuse.
