Abstract

Graphical Abstract   Highlight Research  Bioflocculation technique can improve the harvesting effectiveness of semimass culture of Euglena sp. The addition of E. texensis can significantly increase the flocculation efficiency of Euglena sp. The addition of commercial chitosan was able to increase the flocculation efficiency of Euglena sp. The biomass and lipid content produced by Euglena sp. with E. texensis flocculant agent showed higher results than the biomass and lipid content produced by Euglena sp. with commercial chitosan flocculant agent.   Abstract Euglena sp. has a high potential to be developed as biofuel. However, the high cost and energy required for the harvesting process are hindering the production. Flocculation using natural substances, such as microorganisms and biopolymers, offers a promising solution to minimize energy and production costs, so it is applicable on a mass scale. Ettlia texensis is one of the autoflocculating microalgae that can excrete extracellular polymeric substances (EPS). Chitosan is a linear copolymer of D-glucosamine and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine produced by the deacetylation of chitin, which is usually exploited by marine crustaceans, shrimp, and crabs. Chitosan has a very high cation load, so it is often used for coagulation or flocculation. This study explores the potential of E. texensis and chitosan as flocculant agents to harvest the mass culture of Euglena sp. by giving different doses E. texensis with 1:0.25 (E3), 1:0.5 (E4), 1:1 (E5), and 1:2 (E6), and chitosan with 1.25 mg (C1), 2.5 mg (C2), 3.75 mg (C3), and 5 mg (C4). This research began with the cultivation of Euglena sp. and E. texensis on a 50 L scale for 12 days. The effectiveness of flocculation was measured by the spectrophotometric method. Based on this research, the best treatment for harvesting Euglena sp. culture by bioflocculation was shown by the addition of chitosan (5 mg) with the recovery of 84.83%, 0.2213 mg/mL biomass, and 0.2117 mg/mL lipid content. Meanwhile, with E.  texensis, the best was shown by the ratio of 1:2 with recovery 84.71%, 0.2053 mg/mL biomass, and 0.1753 mg/mL

Abstract

Global energy demand is steadily rising, necessitating the exploration of sustainable alternatives. Microalgae, such as Navicula sp., offer a promising solution. This study investigated the impact of light intensity on the growth, and biochemical composition (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and carotenoids) of Navicula sp. Cultures were grown in f/2 medium under four light intensity treatments: 2100 lux (control), 3500 lux, 4500 lux, and 5500 lux. Cell growth was measured through optical density analysis. Carbohydrate, lipid, protein, and carotenoid assays were performed using phenol-sulfuric acid, Bligh and Dyer, Bradford, and spectrophotometric methods. Maximum growth was observed on the eighth day of cultivation at 4500 lux light intensity. The best specific growth rate was achieved at 5500 lux. The highest biomass, carbohydrate, lipid, and protein productivity were attained at 5500 lux (24.65 mg/mL, 0.374 mg/mL/day, 0.399±0.204 mg/mL/day, and 0.025±0.018 mg/mL/day). Conversely, the highest carotenoid productivity was recorded at 2100 lux, 0.278±0.085 mg/mL/day. By those means, the increase in light intensity was positively correlated with microalgal cell growth, biomass, carbohydrate content, and carbohydrate, lipid, and protein productivity. However, a negative correlation was found with carotenoid pigment productivity. From this research, it is evident that a light intensity of 5500 lux offers a feasible option for the industrial-scale cultivation of Navicula sp. microalgae for biomass, carbohydrate, and protein production, while 2100 lux is more suitable for carotenoid production. This research compares the findings to previous studies, emphasizing the unique way Navicula sp. responds to different light levels.

Abstract

Tujuan pada literarture review artikel ini yaitu untuk membandingkan metode analisis instrumen HPLC dan spektrofotometer Uv-Vis. HPLC (Kromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi) adalah metode kromatografi cair yang dipakai untuk memisahkan campuran cairan. Spektrofotometer UV-Vis adalah alat deteksi yang digunakan dalam analisis kimia. Detektor ini bekerja dengan melewatkan sinar UV dan cahaya tampak melalui sampel di ruang aliran dan kemudian mengukur penyerapan panjang gelombang yang berbeda. Metode pengujian ini digunakan yaitu Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Datanya diambil dari sumber yaitu beberapa website seperti Google Scholar, Science Direct, Sci-Hub, Pubmed, dan Publish or Perish dengan kata kunci Metode HPLC dan Spektrofotometer Uv-Vis. Berdasarkan Review jurnal dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa salah satu penelitian terkait menunjukkan bahwa analisis menggunakan metode HPLC dapat memberikan hasil dengan sensitivitas yang lebih baik, sedangkan metode spektrofotometer UV-Vis memiliki linearitas, presisi, dan akurasi yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The purpose of this literature review article is to determine "Development of a Method for Analysis of Antioxidant Compounds in Red Dragon Fruit Using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry". This method is important for measuring red dragon fruit antioxidants to determine antioxidant activity which has health benefits such as anti-aging and protection. The Literature Review method used in this research is Systemic Literature Review (SLR). The data used in the research were obtained from the Google Scholar database, Sci-Hub Journal, PubMed, Science directe, Publish or perish with the keywords analytical method, red dragon fruit, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry. Based on research from journal reviews, it can be concluded that several articles Supporting this, it shows that the UV-VIS spectrophotometry method meets the validation criteria and can be used to measure the antioxidant activity of various types of extracts.

Abstract

Abstract Cash Waqf is one of the familiar points that are predicted to be able to provide an alternative to poverty and welfare problems for Indonesia by seeing its great potential. This study aims to determine the reasons why someone intends to pay cash waqf among members of IPNU-IPPNU Centtral Java, who in fact are adolescents and educated, meaning that here the respondent are not people who have not received education. This study uses quantitative methods with purposive sampling. The Questionare was filled in by 100 respondents but only 99 respondents are valid who are members of IPNU-IPPNU in Central Java, the data analysis method uses Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) PLS then the data is processed using the Smart PLS application. The results showed that the subjective norm and Emotional Experience variabels had a positive effect on the intention to pay cash waqf. Meanwhile, Attitude, Perceptions of Behavior Control, and Peer Influences have no effect on the intention to pay cash waqf for IPNU-IPPNU members in Central Java. Abstrak Wakaf uang menjadi salah satu point primadona yang digadang mampu memberikan alternatif permasalahan kemiskinan dan kesejahteraan bagi Indonesia dengan melihat potensi yang besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui alasan seseorang berniat untuk membayar wakaf uang di kalangan anggota IPNU/IPPNU Jawa Tengah yang notabenya mereka adalah usia remaja (usia 19-24 tahun) dan terpelajar artinya disini respondennya bukan orang yang tidak mengenyam pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan purposive sampling. Kuesioner di isi oleh 100 orang responden namun yang valid hanya 99 responden yang tergabung dalam anggota IPNU/IPPNU di Jawa Tengah, metode analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) PLS kemudian data diolah menggunakan aplikasi Smart PLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan untuk variabel norma subjektif dan Emotional Experience berpengaruh positif terhadap niat membayar wakaf uang. Sedangkan Sikap, Persepsi Kontrol Perilaku, dan Peer Influences tidak berpengaruh terhadap niat membayar wakaf uang bagi anggota IPNU/IPPNU di Jawa Tengah. Kata Kunci: wakaf uang, Teori TPB, Emotional Experience, Peer Influences.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal’s leadership strategies in improving school achievement and rebuilding public trust through best practices implemented at SD Negeri 2 Ngenden, Ampel District, Boyolali Regency. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, school committee, and the surrounding community. The results show that the principal successfully transformed the school’s image from a less favored institution into a high-achieving one through collaborative, innovative, and quality-oriented strategies. The increase in both academic and non-academic achievements had a direct impact on the rise in student enrollment and community trust. Visionary leadership, effective resource management, and cross-sector collaboration proved to be key factors in the school’s transformation and sustainable improvement.

Abstract

This study aimed to optimize instruction in basic multiplication (multiplication of factors) at SDN Inpres Skouw Mabo, a public primary school located in the Indonesia–Papua New Guinea border area, through the use of Kartu Operasi Hitung (Arithmetic Operation Cards). The school has faced persistent challenges in addressing students’ difficulties with multiplication, which is a foundational concept in mathematics. Limited facilities and instructional resources have impeded the attainment of optimal understanding. Therefore, the introduction of a simple instructional manipulative - Arithmetic Operation Cards - was proposed to support a more visual and interactive learning process. The intervention consisted of teacher training on the use of the cards within mathematics lessons. The training covered both theoretical underpinnings and practical classroom strategies. Furthermore, direct classroom observations were conducted to evaluate the implementation of the manipulative and its influence on students’ understanding. The training and subsequent classroom implementation were expected to improve students’ understanding of multiplication and to strengthen their engagement with the learning process. Overall, these activities were intended to contribute positively to the quality of mathematics instruction at SDN Inpres Skouw Mabo. Moreover, the approach may inform the development of more interactive and enjoyable pedagogical methods and might contribute to efforts to enhance educational quality in border regions that often confront constraints in access and resources.
