Abstract

Mathematical literacy helps to understand problems and develop mathematical knowledge to solve various complex problems. However, based on research conducted by the OECD through PISA in 2022, the mathematical literacy skills of Indonesian students are still far below the international average. Purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical literacy abilities of students who received the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE) model with the help of Wordwall compared to students who received conventional learning models. The method used in this research is a quasi-Class with CORE model assisted by Wordwallal method with a nonequivalent Class with Expository modelgroup design. The subjects in this study were eight grader students of SMPN 40 Bandung, the research samples divided into two groups, VIII A as the Class with Expository modelgroup and VIII B as the Class with CORE model assisted by Wordwallal group. Samples taken by purposive technique. In this study, data taken by test of students' mathematical literacy skills conducted before the learning and after the learning treatment. The data obtained were then processed by carrying out a mean difference test with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 for Windows. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the mathematical literacy abilities of students who received the Wordwall-assisted CORE model were higher than the mathematical literacy abilities of students who received Expository model.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to determine the use of project-based learning (PjBL) in the achievement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The variables in this research were PjBL and mathematical problem-solving abilities. The instrument in this research was a description test of mathematical problem-solving abilities, which was analyzed by testing the hypothesis using the Mann Whitney U test. The results showed that the average value of students learning using PjBL was higher than students learning using conventional models. The results of the Mann Whitney test show that learning using PjBL is effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Low vegetable consumption and the lack of skills in processing local food into healthy meals are ongoing nutritional issues in various regions of Indonesia, including in Cibangkong Village, Bandung City. This activity aims to increase consumption and skills in processing local food into healthy meals by PKK mothers through training in processing local vegetables into Pakcoy Nori and vegetable nuggets. The activity methods include preparation, implementation, and analysis of results. The activity began with observation, training involving PPG Candidate Teacher students and the Faculty of Food Technology, Pasundan University as mentors, and practical training in making Pakcoy Nori and vegetable nuggets. The results of the activity showed improved skills of participants in processing and packaging healthy food products, increased nutritional awareness, and an interest in turning these products into business opportunities. This project concludes that training in appropriate local vegetable processing can be a strategic solution to address nutrition issues, build family food independence, and encourage a sustainable local economy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the increase in the mathematical connections of students who receive the Knisley mathematics learning model is higher than students who receive conventional learning models. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. This study involved two classes: an experimental class and a control class. Students in the experimental class learned with the Knisley mathematics learning model assisted by GeoGebra, while students in the control class received learning with conventional learning models. This research involved 50 students in class. The study was conducted with the object of this research, which is the ninth grader students in one of the public junior high schools in Bandung. The results showed that the increase in the mathematical connections of students who received the Knisley mathematics learning model was more elevated than that of students who received conventional learning. Knisley's mathematics learning model provides space for students to build their knowledge and can facilitate students in fulfilling mathematical connection indicators. Learning using GeoGebra can increase student enthusiasm. Student activeness in learning can be increased by applying the GeoGebra-assisted Knisley mathematics learning model.
