Abstract

Mina paddy is an agricultural system that has been increasingly promoted to enhance the productivity and efficiency of rice farming. This study aims to: (1) analyze distribution technical efficiency values of mina paddy and conventional paddy farming; (2) analyze the factors influencing production inefficiency in mina paddy and conventional paddy farming; and (3) analyze the level of technical efficiency in mina paddy and conventional paddy farming. Research was conducted in Panembangan Village, Cilongok Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach using stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) as the analytical tool. Results indicate that land size, number of family laborers, amount of seed used (equivalent to rice seed) and quantity of herbicide applied show a significant and positive effect on rice production, additionally the amount of urea fertilizer applied has a significant and negative effect on rice production. Factors influencing the level of technical inefficiency in both mina paddy and conventional paddy farming include the farmer’s age, farming experience, and the mina paddy technology dummy variable. Overall technical efficiency values demonstrate a significant difference between the efficiency levels of mina paddy and conventional paddy farming. This indicates that the cultivation approach adopted in each farming system contributes to differences in technical performance in utilizing production inputs.

Abstract

This study focuses on the decline in durian production in Kemranjen subdistrict in 2021 and 2022. Bawor durian is a type of durian that is widely cultivated by farmers in Kemranjen subdistrict. The objectives of this study are: 1. To identify the factors influencing the production of Bawor durian farming 2. To determine the technical efficiency level of Bawor durian farming production 3. To identify the factors influencing the inefficiency of Bawor durian farming. The study was conducted in Alasmalang Village, Karangsalam Village, and Pageralang Village in Kemranjen Subdistrict, Banyumas Regency. Sampling was conducted using the census method. The sample size for this study was 62 farmers. The analysis method used stochastic frontier analysis. The results of the study indicate that the production factors significantly influencing durian bawor production are manure, NPK fertilizer, dolomite, pesticides, and the number of trees. The average technical efficiency value of Bawor durian farming is 0.71738845. The factors significantly influencing the inefficiency of Bawor durian farming are age and extension services. The results of this study are useful as a guideline for Bawor durian farmers in Kemranjen Subdistrict to achieve maximum results.

Abstract

Sugarce farming in Indonesia has been facing the problems of lack of raw material and low processing yield.  Sugarcane farming carried out by farmers has been facing several risks.  This research aims to analyze risk management by sugar cane farmers.  The risk management process is carried out in a sequence : 1) risk identification, 2) risk assessment, 3) identification of risk mitigation.  Risk identification stage has found 13 risks that is devided into 3 groups : 1) nature related risks, 2) production resource related risks, 3) economic factor related risks.  Based on risk assessment there are five high grade risks, seven medium grade risks and one low grade risks.  It is noted that there are 20 risk mitigations carried out by farmers.  Boktor and burned cane have highest risk scores.  Drought is one of some risks that has high score.  Sugar mill company as farmers’ partner can be involved in risk mitigation by adding pond capacity and the number of pumps and irrigation pipes.

Abstract

Budidaya ikan dalam ember (budikdamber) merupakan inovasi sederhana berbasis sistem akuaponik yang berpotensi mendukung ketahanan pangan rumah tangga melalui integrasi pemeliharaan ikan dan tanaman dalam satu wadah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat Desa Piasa Kulon, Kecamatan Somagede, Kabupaten Banyumas, melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan penerapan teknologi budikdamber. Program dilaksanakan selama 35 hari dengan pendekatan deskriptif partisipatif yang melibatkan masyarakat di tiga RW. Kegiatan meliputi penyampaian materi, diskusi interaktif, praktik perakitan sistem, serta pendampingan teknis pemeliharaan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap prinsip integrasi ikan dan tanaman, manajemen kualitas air sederhana, serta prosedur operasional sistem budikdamber. Pendekatan pembelajaran partisipatif dan praktik langsung memperkuat kesiapan teknis masyarakat untuk mereplikasi sistem secara mandiri pada skala rumah tangga. Program ini menegaskan bahwa budikdamber dapat diperkenalkan sebagai teknologi tepat guna berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat, dengan catatan bahwa evaluasi jangka panjang dan pengukuran kuantitatif masih diperlukan untuk menilai dampak langsung terhadap ketahanan pangan rumah tangga

Abstract

This research aims to determine the efficiency and relative technical inefficiency of lemon farming in Banyumas Regency. The background of this research is the need for self-sufficient lemon production and the existence of several issues in the management of production inputs in lemon farming. This is quantitative research with a population of 9 lemon farmers in Banyumas Regency. All 9 farmers were used as samples, employing a saturation sampling technique. Data for this research were collected through questionnaires. The data analysis in this research utilized Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with an input-oriented approach. The results of this research indicate that the use of production inputs needs to be adjusted among Decision Making Units (DMU) to achieve optimization.
