Abstract

Stapple food subsector is the second largest contributor after plantations subsector to Indonesian gross domestic product (GDP). However, since 2015, the productivity has been declining, though still provides a positive value. To anticipate the simultaniously decline of the productivity, the government has socialized the Seed Self Sufficiency Village (3SV) Programe with paddy. One of the provinces that has has been received the implementation of this 3SV programe is North Sumatra. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the economic performance of 3SV fostered village’s rice seed growers such as: production costs, profitability and business efficiency as well as the factors that affect the fostered paddy seed’s growers. This research was conducted using a survey method from August to November 2019. Data was collected through interviews with 30 fostered paddy seed’s growers in the districts of Deli Serdang, Batu Bara, Langkat, Serdang Bedagai, Simalungun, and South Nias. The location was chosen deliberately while the respondent farmers were chosen by judgmental method. The level of profitability is calculated using Gross Profit Ratio (GPR) while technical efficiency is analyzed using the Stochastic Frontier Production Function. The results showed that the rice seedling business in the observed area was strongly influenced by area of land, the amount of use of seeds and additional fertilizers. Meanwhile, increasing the use of labor, basic fertilizers, Growth Regulator (GR), and pesticides will reduce the performance of the rice seedling business. The availability of irrigation water and farmer groups has a big influence in reducing technical inefficiencies.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan integrasi yang terjadi secara vertikal diantara berbagai pelaku pemasaran dalam suatu rantai pemasaran antara lain petani, pedagang besar, dan pedagang pengecer. Metode yang dapat digunakan untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian adalah dengan menggunakan analisis kointegrasi CRDW-Uji Kointegrasi Johansen dan Vector Error Correction Model. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder selama lima tahun (tahun 2007 hingga tahun 2011) sebanyak 60 series data. Data harus distasionerkan terlebih dahulu menggunakan uji DF-ADF (Dickey Fuller-Augmented Dickey Fuller) Setelah itu dilakukan uji Kointegrasi Johansen dan uji kausalitas Granger untuk mengetahui hubungan kointegrasi yang terjadi dalam jangka panjang menggunakan panjang lag optimal. Apabila terdapat hubungan jangka panjang, maka untuk menganalisis hubungan kointegrasi jangka pendek digunakan uji VECM. Namun apabila tidak terdapat hubungan kointegrasi, untuk mengetahui hubungan jangka pendek digunakan uji VAR. Hasil analisis mengenai integrasi pasar vertikal cabai merah besar (Capsicum annuum L.) di Jawa Timur membuktikan bahwa pasar di tingkat petani, pedagang besar, dan pedagang pengecer terintegrasi dalam jangka panjang dan jangka pendek.   Kata kunci: Uji DF-ADF, Uji Lag Optimum, Uji Kointegrasi Johansen, Uji Kausalitas Granger, Uji VAR, Integrasi Vertikal

Abstract

Lost Profitability in Rice Seeding Farming in North Sumatera. This study aims to: (1) Identify the existence of harvest losses phenomenon in the activities of paddy seedling farming of seed growers in seed independent village, (2) Calculate the total of losses profitability due to the existence of harvest losses both in terms of the amount and economic value, and (3) Test the correlation between this harvest losses variables to its productivity values. The observation locations were selected purposively while respondents were chosen with judgemental method. To answer the three objectives, MS Excel and SPSS software were used. The results showed that harvest losses were occurred in all areas of observation. Pre processing harvest losses had a negative but non significant effect on productivity while post processing harvest losses had a negative and significant effect on productivity at the significancy level of 5%. Simalungun was the highest contributor with total loss 312,318,000 IDR per planting season per year. Losses were not only received by farmers but also to the local governments. Mengidentifikasi keberadaan fenomena kehilangan hasil dalam kegiatan pascapanen usahatani perbenihan padi di Desa Mandiri Benih. (2). Menghitung total kerugian yang ditimbulkan akibat keberadaan fenomena kehilangan hasil tersebut baik dari segi jumlah maupun nilai ekonominya, serta (3). Menguji korelasi diantara egative tersebut dengan nilai produktivitasnya. Pemilihan lokasi pengamatan dilakukan secara sengaja sedangkan responden dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik sampling pertimbangan. Untuk menjawab ketiga tujuan tersebut, digunakan bantuan software MS. Excel dan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kehilangan hasil (pra pengolahan) memberikan pengaruh negative yang tidak signifikan terhadap produktivitas sedangkan kehilangan hasil (pasca pengolahan) memberi pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap produktivitas pada taraf nyata 5%. Simalungun merupakan kabupaten penyumbang kerugian tertinggi dengan nilai total kerugian sebesar Rp 312.318.000 per musim tanam per tahun. Kerugian tidak hanya diterima oleh petani tetapi juga pemerintah daerah.Kata kunci: padi, profitabilitas, hilang, tersembunyi, perbenihan, Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Cassava is the third most popular stapple food crop after rice and corn in Indonesia. One of the advantages of cassava that makes this commodity much in demand by national farmers is its ability to produce a variety of downstreaming products, one of which is cassava chips. Rasa Gadung Cassava Chips’ SMEs is one of the cassava processing industry units located in Pemalang Regency so that cassava processing training is always used as the second priority agenda in the local government working plan. However, Rasa Gadung Cassava Chips’ SMEs is not able to keep up with existing developments and is underdeveloped. Even so, this SMEs is still standing in the midst of a pandemic. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify the internal and external factors owned by the Rasa Gadung Cassava Chips’ SMEs. This research was analyzed with a descriptive qualitative method. The selection of respondents was carried out purposively using the judgmental sampling method. The data used are data on internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and data on external factors (opportunities and challenges) for the last 10 (ten) years. The result showed that Rasa Gadung Cassava Chips’ SMEs have 11 (eleven) internal factors and 14 (fourteen) external factors that can be managed in future research using the IFAS-EFAS matrix.

Abstract

Bibliometerik merupakan analisis pemetaan tren riset penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui trend riset resolusi konflik bidang pertanian dan perikanan dalam menghadapi tantangan pencapaian 17 poin agenda pembangunan yang berkelanjutan. Riset dilakukan pada bulan Maret-April 2023 menggunakan bantuan alat analisis Publish or Perish, Zotero, dan Vos Viewer. Data yang digunakan ialah publikasi internasional (scopus dan google scholar) sepanjang tahun 2012-2022. Data yang berhasil dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan jumlah dan kata kunci yang telah ditentukan. Untuk menghindari terjadinya bias pada data dilakukan Refinement Of The Search Results dan Threshold keywords. Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa jumlah publikasi mengalami peningkatan secara fluktuatif dan terbanyak dipublikasikan pada tahun 2017. Hasil visualisasi Vos Viewer menunjukkan bahwa peta perkembangan riset resolusi konflik pertanian dan perikanan terbagi menjadi 17 kluster yang terdiri dari 171 kata kunci, 67 kata kunci diantaranya berkaitan dengan bidang resolusi konflik pertanian dan perikanan dalam konteks pembangunan yang berkelanjutan. Adapun topik yang potensial dikembangkan adalah competence, mediation, IPV, local government, HRM, political settlement, inter-organizational knowledge, innovation, lower level authority, conflict resolution strategy, presence, cooperation, social attribute, dan conflict management strategy.

Abstract

Food producers should guarantee the halalness of their products for consumers, especially Muslim consumers. This does not only apply to packaged food but also ready-to-eat food such as soup. Therefore, this study aims to map the critical points of halal in the production process of Soto Sokaraja products, both in terms of ingredients, production process, presentation, and the facilities used. Data collection was carried out by interviewing the owner and direct observation. Then adjustments were made to the rules and guidelines related to halal, which refer to the Halal Assurance System (SJH). The method used to determine the critical halal point is the Halal Critical Point (HCP) decision tree diagram from LPPOM MUI. The results showed that the essential topics for the ingredients were beef/chicken/tripe, ketupat, crackers, palm sugar, and packaging materials (styrofoam). The critical points of the production process lie in the preparation process, making the soto and peanut sauce seasonings and the soto compounding process. As for the facility criteria, the critical point for halal is the cleanliness of the equipment from unclean contamination. In the future, there will be socialization and education from BPJPH, related agencies and the Halal Center in the Banyumas area, assembling the Halal Assurance System for Soto Sokaraja business actors

Abstract

Inflation occurs in food prices, especially rice, which is related to price formation at final consumer level. Market institution adjust their behavior in the face of the market structure. This study aims to analyze existence of market power in the formation of rice prices at the end -consumer level. The data used is weekly price of rice according to quality during the 2019 - 2022 period in Tasikmalaya City. Data analysis was performed using error correction model. Results of the analysis show that there is market power in four of the six qualities of rice traded in Tasikmalaya City. Price setting at various price qualities traded at the retail level is also necessary as an effort to prevent significant price changes such as price regulation at the producer level. Abstract

Tropical fruits are one of Indonesia's leading horticultural products, where mangosteen fruit contributes the largest export to Indonesia's total fruit exports. However, Indonesia's mangosteen export share is still very low and this should be maximized. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian mangosteen exports in the international market and compare with other mangosteen exporting countries in the international market and find out the factors that affect the competitiveness. The data used is in the form of secondary data from 2003 to 2022. The analysis methods used are ECI, ISP and multiple regression analysis. The results of the ECI analysis show that Indonesian mangosteen has a competitive advantage and experiences an increasing export trend with a value of 1.217 and ISP shows that Indonesia tends to be a mangosteen exporting country and is at the maturity stage with a value of 0.903. However, Indonesia's competitive position is still below other countries such as Thailand, India, Peru and Kenya. Factors that affect Indonesia's ECI significantly are export volume of Thailand’s mangosteens and harvest area of Indonesia’s mangosteens.

Abstract

The development of seaweed cultivation by farmers cannot be separated from production factors such as capital, seeds, labor, and land area, which greatly support the success of seaweed cultivation. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting seaweed production and how to return to scale. The research was conducted in Pantai Amal Village. The number of samples in the study was 59 seaweed farmers using the incidental sampling method. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis in the form of the Cobb-Douglas function logarithm using the SPSS 26 software. The results showed that simultaneously the capital factors (X1), seeds (X2), labor (X3), and land area (X4) jointly affect the production (sig=0.00). Only the farmer's capital partially showed a significant effect (0.00) smaller than the significance level of = 0.05. The business scale has shown increasing returns to scale with a coefficient value of 1.15, which means that all inputs used in production are increased by 1. The resulting production will be increased by 1, and the resulting production will increase by a more significant proportion, namely 1.15. Thus, seaweed farmers’ use of production factors is efficient.

Abstract

Pertanian padi di Indonesia sudah berjalan dengan cukup baik namun akhir-akhir ini mulai muncul perubahan iklim yang dapat mengganggu dan membahayakan pertanian padi. Penurunan intensitas hari hujan pada musim penghujan, suhu global yang semakin panas, dan adanya indikasi mundurnya musim penghujan merupakan dampak dari perubahan iklim yang mulai dirasakan dan mengancam petani. Upaya mengatasi perubahan iklim yang dihadapi petani tersebut, maka dibutuhkan resiliensi yang baik untuk menghadapi ancaman tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat resiliensi petani padi dan faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat resiliensi petani padi di Desa Krendetan Kecamatan Bagelen Kabupaten Purworejo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dengan teknik sampling yang digunakan ialah simple random sampling. Subjek yang diteliti yaitu petani padi sebanyak 61 responden. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret – April 2024. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis regresi liniear berganda dan analisis tingkat resiliensi menggunakan CD-RISC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani padi di Desa Krendetan resilien terhadap perubahan iklim dengan Tingkat resiliensi sebesar 84,68. Nilai tersebut mengindikasikan adanya resiliensi yang tinggi pada petani padi di Desa Krendetan Kecamatan Bagelen Kabupaten Purworejo. Faktor yang mempengaruhi resiliensi petani padi di Desa Krendetan Kecamatan Bagelen Kabupaten Purworejo yaitu tingkat optimisme, kompetensi petani, orang lain yang dianggap penting, kapasitas sumber daya pertanian, dan teknologi pertanian.
