Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the designed model fits the empirical model and whether attitudes toward social media use, subjective norms, self-efficacy, and intentions to use social media are factors in the social media use behavior in Madrasah Tsanawiyah students. The population in this study was all Madrasah Tsanawiyah students in Central Java. The sampling technique in this study was systematic sampling. It was conducted by taking each subject in the population until the number of the desired sample was met. The technique of analysis employed the structural equation model. Based on the analysis results, the requirements criteria were Chi-Square 165.472 (DF= 81, p=0.000), CMIN/DF=2.043, GFI= 0.947, AGFI= 0.922, TLI= 0.940, and RMSEA= 0.051. Then, the proposed model could be said to be fit or fulfilled. Thus, it can be stated that the proposed model design was not significantly different from the empirical data. Under the study results, the determination coefficient (R²) of the social media use intention (R²) was 0.03, meaning that only 3% could be explained or predicted through the variables of attitude toward using social media, subjective norms, and self-efficacy. In addition, the coefficient of determination (R²) of social media use behavior was 0.29, indicating that 29% could be explained or predicted through the variables of social media use attitudes, subjective norms, self-efficacy, and intentions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of code-switching and code-mixing in everyday conversations at the Darussalam Al-Akhyar Islamic Boarding School in Kudus. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. The data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, audio recording, and field notes. The data source of this study was the daily conversations of female students at Darussalam Al-Akhyar Islamic Boarding School in Kudus. Data were collected through documentation using the listening recording, and note-taking techniques. The findings indicate that students frequently use code-switching and code-mixing in daily conversations. Code-switching consists of internal and external types, while code-mixing is also categorized into internal and external forms, with each occurring according to the conversational context. Internal code-switching occurs when shifting from Javanese to Arabic and from Arabic to Javanese in certain conversational situations. External code-switching, on the other hand, occurs through the use of foreign language elements other than Javanese and Arabic in interactions among santri. Internal code-mixing occurs through the insertion of Javanese elements into Arabic speech or of Arabic elements into Javanese speech. Meanwhile, external code-mixing occurs through the insertion of elements from other foreign languages into the daily conversations of santri.

Abstract

The increasing demand for effective Arabic language instruction in higher education has highlighted the need for more integrated and contextually meaningful teaching materials. In the context of Kurikulum Merdeka, this becomes particularly relevant as institutions are encouraged to develop flexible and competency-based learning designs. This article examines how holistic Arabic teaching materials are designed and enacted within Kurikulum Merdeka across State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) through a qualitative multisite case study. Data were generated from multiple sources, including: (1) curriculum and instructional documents (e.g., RPS, modules, and assessment artefacts), (2) non-participant classroom observations, and (3) semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with programme leaders, lecturers, and students. The findings show that holism is operationalized as a curriculum bundle aligning outcomes, integrated-skill task pathways, media use, and assessment, rather than as a single textbook format. Islamic knowledge and socio-religious campus life function as authentic discourse domains that support input-interaction-output cycles, yet productive skills (speaking and writing) remain the main bottlenecks when formative feedback is weak. Transferability across PTKIN depends on alignment templates, shared rubrics, reusable task banks, and feasible feedback workflows. This study contributes to the literature on Arabic language pedagogy by conceptualizing holistic teaching materials as an integrated curriculum system and highlighting the critical role of assessment and feedback mechanisms in ensuring effective implementation across institutional contexts.
