Abstract

Quality improvement has always been applicated by the Universitas Terbuka (UT) especially to improve its distance learning services at its regional centers. The objectives of this research are to analyze the results of the internal audit before and after the UT regional centers accepting ISO 9001:2000 certificate, to learn what the benefits of the internal audit are toward the improvement of the distance learning services in UTs regional centers, and to identify the top managers of the UTs regional centers and their staff perceptions toward the internal audit. This research was conducted between March and October 2008 in UT. The research was conducted using descriptive analysis. The report analyzing guidance, questionaires and interview guidance were employed as the research instruments. The research concluded that ISO 9001:2000 had good effects to the improvement of the distance learning services at UT regional centers. Moreover, the internal audit made the UTs regional centers did their best to improve they distance learning services and these benefits made the top managers of the UT regional centers and their staff had a good perception toward the internal audit in UT.

Abstract

Mencintai lingkungan adalah suatu karakter anak yang harus ditanamkan kepada masyarakat Indonesia sejak usia dini. Untuk itu, masyarakat PAUD perlu dikenalkan dengan literasi lingkungan karena masih banyak masyarakat PAUD yang belum paham akan literasi lingkungan. Pemahaman dan keterampilan literasi lingkungan jika dipelajari oleh seseorang sejak usia dini, maka ilmu tersebut dapat menjadi kebiasaan dan akan bertahan lama dalam pikiran dan hati seseorang. Artikel ini akan menguraikan bagaimana upaya menanamkan cinta lingkungan kepada masyarakat PAUD yang dilakukan tim peneliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan tdengan pemberian informasi dan motivasi tentang pentingnya Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup (PLH) kepada anak usia dini. Subjek yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat PAUD yang diwakili oleh 11 guru PAUD di daerah Tangerang, Sawangan Bogor, Medan,dan Batam. Artikel ini ditulis berdasarkan hasil Penelitian Tindakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui diskusi dan wawancara dan penyampaian informasi melalui temu online mengenai PLH untuk PAUD. Periode pengumpulan data memakan waktu 4 bulan pada tahun 2020. Analisis isi digunakan untuk menganalisis data dalam penelitian ini. Data yang diperoleh divalidasi oleh anggota fakultas. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya pemberian informasi dan pemberian motivasi kepada 11 guru PAUD tersebut dapat membuat 9 orang guru tergugah untuk ikut mempelajari dan mengajarkan literasi lingkungan kepada anak didiknya. Para guru tersebut berupaya membuat lingkungan sekolah menjadi lebih hijau dengan menanam pohon dan membuat berbagai kegiatan pembelajaran bersama anak untuk lebih mengenal dan sayang lingkungan.

Abstract

Karakter pada anak perlu dikembangkan sejak dini oleh pendidik, baik di rumah (Pendidikan informal) maupun di Lembaga PAUD (Pendidikan formal). Pengembangan karakter ini perlu dilakukan secara kreatif agar anak merasa nyaman, tidak merasa terpaksa dalam membangun karakter yang diharapkan. Salah satu bentuk pengembangan karakter yang sangat disukai anak adalah melalui metode bercerita. Namun, kemampuan bercerita dengan berbagai media pada guru PAUD saat ini belum terstandar. Ada beberapa guru yang memang sudah mahir bercerita, sehingga anak-anak sangat asyik menyimaknya. Namun banyak guru PAUD yang masih perlu mengembangkan kemampuan bercerita bagi anak untuk mengembangkan karakter. Abdimas ini bertujuan untuk: (1) memberikan pelatihan tentang penguatan karakter anak usia dini melalui metode bercerita ini bagi Guru PAUD, (2) mengenalkan anak usia dini dengan metode bercerita dengan cara yang sesuai dengan anak usia dini, (3) mengintegrasikan kegiatan menari dengan kegiatan bermain ke dalam pembelajaran PAUD. Kegiatan dilakukan di PAUDQu Darul Ulum, Jabon Mekar. Bogor. Berdasar pengamatan dan wawancara dengan para guru di PAUDQu, kegiatan abdimas dengan memberikan pendampingan penggunaaan metode bercerita ini sangat bermanfaat karena anak menjadi lebih bersemangat saat belajar, guru lebih mudah mengarahkan anak, guru mendapatkan berbagai masukan berharga dari tanya jawab dengan anak usai bercerita, dan guru dapat sekaligus merancang pelibatan orang tua melalui kegiatan bercerita.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the feasibility of the KKM model based on the book prototype in improving teachers' teaching abilities, to find out the process of developing the KKM model using the textbook prototype to improve teachers' teaching skills, and to determine the effectiveness of developing the KKM model in improving teaching skills through the KKM book prototype. The problem is focused on developing a minimum completeness criteria model through a book prototype to improve the ability of teachers. In order to approach this problem, a theoretical reference from the Ministry of National Education is used. Minimum completeness criteria must be included in the learning outcomes report as a reference in addressing student learning outcomes. The data were collected through a questionnaire technique by distributing questionnaires to fourth and fifth grade teachers. This data collection aims to determine the need for prototype books and information that is used as material for product preparation and analyzed qualitatively. This study concludes that the 8 R & D steps in developing the KKM book prototype are better used to increase teacher effectiveness in determining the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) in elementary schools at the beginning of the school year.

Abstract

This type of research used in this research is experimental quantitative research. To find out the effect of the classroom visit supervision workshop and teacher certification on the pedagogical ability of elementary school teachers in terms of the initial pedagogical ability in Rantau Selatan District. The population in this study was elementary school teachers in Rantau Selatan District, Labuhanbatu Regency, totalling 377 teachers spread over 23 locations. The sample in this study was 60 teachers. From the research results, it can be concluded that the magnitude of the simultaneous influence of the implementation of the supervisory workshop and the initial ability to the pedagogical ability of teachers is 66.4% while the remaining 33.6% is influenced by other factors outside of the two variables observed in this study.

Abstract

Household waste continues to grow daily, forcing the Indonesian government to start thinking about a good management strategy that will not damage the environment or harm the community. A two-fold increase in waste is very likely to occur if there are no strict policies for waste that result in environmental and ecosystem pollution. Waste is not only a big city problem. Each district/city in each province has the same problems in handling waste. For example, in Bogor Regency, approximately 2,800 tons of waste must be managed and transported daily. However, only about 700 tons of waste can be transported and managed by the local government. This condition was also found at SDN Putat Nutug, Bogor Regency. Waste management at SDN Putat Nutug 03 Ciseeng, Bogor Regency, still relies on traditional methods, namely burning. Garbage-burning activities that do not comply with this procedure can cause problems such as air pollution. This community service activity aims to increase students' knowledge and skills through hands-on sorting, processing, and managing waste. The practical activities of waste processing are divided into two parts: the presentation of theory and education regarding waste and how to process it and the practical activities of waste processing with the 3R method. The activity results in environmentally friendly products from plastic waste, showing that the 3R method interests’ students. Hopefully, in the future, schools that apply the 3R method will increase the method of waste management so that the waste problem can be reduced slowly

Abstract

Financial management of educational operational assistance (BOP) is school operational assistance originating from the Regional Government of Tana Tidung Regency which is used for school operational activities. The aims of this study are 1) to find out the financial management of educational operational assistance (BOP) to improve the quality of education in Sesayap District, Tana Tidung Regency; 2) to find out the inhibiting factors for operational assistance financial management (BOP) in Sesayap District, Tana Tidung Regency. The informants in this study were the Head of the Education Office, the Head of the Finance Subdivision of the Education Office, and the Principal of a school in Sesayap District, as well as one of the treasurers of the BOP. The research design used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that 1) financial management of operational assistance (BOP) in improving the quality of education in Sesayap District, Tana Tidung Regency has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of 8 educational standards, namely graduate competency standards, content standards, process standards, assessment standards, educator and staff standards education, infrastructure standards, management standards, and financing standards analyzed from research indicators, namely fulfillment of financial obligations, honesty, control, responsibility, efficiency, and effectiveness; 2) the inhibiting factors in BOP financial management are delays in the disbursement of BOP from the district and the lack of awareness of financial responsibility from the organizers of activities or programs to the BOP treasurer of educational units.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the research trends related to distance education over the past three years by examining the publication patterns and key topics within the field. This study used a quantitative descriptive research approach with a bibliometric method. Data was collected through the Scopus database with the keyword "Distance learning" by searching for journals based on keywords, article titles, and abstracts with the condition of publications in 2020-2022. The software used in data analysis in this study was the Bibliometrix R-Package, which was part of R-Studio. A total of 1936 articles were found and analyzed. The study results showed that the number of articles related to distance education has been increasing each year, with a growing trend from 2020 to 2022. The study analyzed the top journals, affiliations, and countries publishing articles and identified the most productive authors and relevant affiliations. The trend topics discussed were social media, distance learning, and learning analytics, with new topics emerging in 2021, such as university students, motivation, and Covid-19. Theme classifications were divided into two, connected by blue and red lines. The study also identified future research opportunities using a thematic map.

Abstract

Children are active in online activities, especially on social media. It leads to an urgent need to increase digital literacy early to minimize the risks of online harm. This study analyzes the effectiveness of digital literacy modules and learning media in the COVID-19 pandemic by using digital learning resources such as videos and electronic books. This type of research is quantitative. The method used is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The sample in this study was 219 people, namely early childhood 5-6 years, teachers, and parents. The data collection technique for this research used a pre-test and post-test and a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used is paired t-test. The study results demonstrate the relevance and applicability of e-learning modules in content and structure for children, particularly in developing awareness about healthy eating. It was concluded that digital literacy learning modules and media were quite effective and made it easier for students to absorb learning material from teachers with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
