Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aims of this research were to describe the errors in the use of capital letters, punctuation marks and commas in the invitation letters for fifth grade students at the State Elementary School 67 Bengkulu City. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were students VC grade. The data were collected through documentation.The data analysis technique used language error analysis, validity test increases persistence and member checks. The result showed that the keys to using capital letters were found at the beginning of sentences (18.72%), names of people (45.41%), names of years, months, holidays and historical events (43.97%), geographic names (27, 72%), not abbreviated titles, ranks and greetings (32.69%). Errors in the use of signs were found at the end of sentences (60%), separating the hours, minutes, and seconds (17%), not being used after the sender, recipient, and letter date (3%). Incorrect use of commas was found between names and addresses, parts of addresses, places and dates (80%), between names of persons and abbreviations of academic degrees that follow (59%), behind the caption at the beginning of the sentence (53%).

Abstract

This study aims to produce Student Worksheets using the Realistic Mathematics Education approach to build understanding of mathematical concepts in grade IV of Elementary School; This study is a Research and Development (R&D) research using a 4-D model. Validation is carried out by material experts, design experts and linguists. The developed were given scores and responses by 4 public elementary school teachers in Bengkulu City. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical analysis of the results of expert validation and teacher responses as well as qualitative descriptive analysis of comments from expert validation and teacher responses.. The results of the validity test of the mathematics that have been developed with the results of the material experts are 88.89 with a very valid category, the design expert validation is 94 with the very valid category, the validation of the linguist 90 is very valid and the teacher's response is 87.66 with the very category. valid as the final product of development and limited trial results to get an average value of 83.4 with completeness of 88.89%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of STAD type cooperative model to increase students' learning motivation in Pancasila Education learning in class VI A SD N 42 Bengkulu City. Lesson Study is a collaborative approach that allows teachers to plan, observe and reflect on learning in groups, with the aim of improving teaching quality and student learning outcomes. In this study, various aspects such as planning, implementation, and reflection were observed to identify the constraints and impact of Lesson Study on students' learning motivation. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. This research is expected to provide theoretical and practical benefits for improving the quality of education, both for students, teachers, and schools.

Abstract

Selaras dengan kemajuan teknologi munculah berbagai macam bahan ajar yang dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, salah satunya ialah komik. Pada Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan metode Lesson Study dengan bahan ajar komik pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia untuk siswa kelas IV di SDN 57 Kota Bengkulu. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya literasi sains di Indonesia, sebagaimana ditunjukkan dalam hasil PISA, yang menyoroti perlunya inovasi dalam pemilihan bahan ajar. Komik sebagai media pembelajaran diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran. Metodologi Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Lesson Study, yang melibatkan kolaborasi antara guru dalam merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran. Hasil yang diharapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah bahan ajar komik dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan bahan benih sebagai kolase dalam meningkatkan kreativitas pendidikan seni siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 27 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah guru kelas IV dan siswa kelas IV yang mengikuti pembelajaran seni rupa sebanyak 21 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan butiran sebagai bahan kolase secara signifikan meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dalam pendidikan seni. Mayoritas siswa menunjukkan peningkatan yang nyata dalam penguasaan teknik kolase, kemampuan kreatif, dan pemilihan elemen visual. Temuan ini mencerminkan keberhasilan penerapan metode kolase menggunakan biji dalam merangsang kreativitas siswa. Untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan hasil tersebut, sekolah hendaknya terus mengembangkan program pendidikan seni yang inovatif, melibatkan orang tua, dan memanfaatkan sumber daya alam sebagai sarana pembelajaran

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teaching strategies used by teachers in introducing the concept of a circle’s circumference in elementary school. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation and interviews with a sixth-grade teacher at SDN 85 Bengkulu City. Data were collected through classroom observations and interviews, then analyzed descriptively. The findings show that the teacher implemented experiential learning by engaging students in observing and measuring circular objects around them. This strategy helped students understand the relationship between circumference and diameter without merely memorizing formulas. The teacher also made use of concrete teaching aids, interactive images, animated videos, and GeoGebra applications to strengthen conceptual understanding. Challenges encountered included students’ difficulty in distinguishing radius and diameter as well as understanding the symbol π (pi). The study concludes that the teacher applied contextual learning strategies supported by various media and learning resources.

Abstract

Mathematics learning, especially in topics like geometry and measurement such as the volume of a cylinder, often presents challenges for elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the obstacles in teaching the volume of a cylinder in elementary schools, identify the root causes of students' difficulties, and present strategic implications for future teachers. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of structured interviews. Data were collected through interviews with 4th-grade teachers at SDN 44 Kota Bengkulu. The results of the interviews showed that the teachers had used demonstration methods supported by visual media (videos, pictures, real-life illustrations, and interactive activities). Students were encouraged to observe real objects in the shape of cylinders (such as water bottles, milk cans, and drinking glasses) and derive the formula for the volume of a cylinder from its net. Although a variety of media were used, the main challenges faced included limited teaching time and inappropriate teaching methods. These obstacles impacted students' learning outcomes, causing conceptual difficulties, calculation errors, and an inability to solve word problems with contextual applications. Students often struggled to visualize the real-world applications of the volume of a cylinder. Teachers hope that future mathematics teachers will not only understand the theory conceptually but also be able to apply it critically and creatively, as well as utilize technology as an effective and innovative learning medium. Strategies for future teachers include leveraging technology to connect abstract concepts to real-world problems to address the existing challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the obstacles experienced by teachers in teaching the volume of a cube to fifth-grade students at SDN 102, Bengkulu City. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection through semi-structured interviews with class teachers. The results indicate several major obstacles in the learning process. These obstacles include students' poor mastery of multiplication operations as a prerequisite for calculating the volume of a cube, students' difficulty in understanding the abstract concept of space, and the limited use of concrete media that can facilitate visualization of the concept of geometric shapes. Furthermore, teachers face challenges in adapting learning strategies to the variety of student learning styles, resulting in uneven student engagement and understanding. These obstacles result in slow learning and students' poor ability to apply volume formulas correctly. This study emphasizes the need for the use of concrete and digital media, reinforcement of basic concepts, and the application of more varied and contextual learning methods to significantly improve students' understanding of the concept of volume of a cube.
