Abstract

The research aimed at determining the significant effect of implemented Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) in developing students’ communicative competence in SMK Islam Wijaya Kusuma Jakarta. The students’ communicative competence was measured quantitatively by conducting the experiment method. There were 47 of the eleventh-grade students as samples chosen randomly by using purposive sampling technique. The data were performed by using the test instrument with two groups on post-test design; one group became the experiment class and the other group became the control class. The questionnaire was assigned to students at the end of the lesson. The post-poster cycle assessment was given as a basis of measurement in analyzing students’ communicative competence. The data were analyzed by using t-test two tailed formula to find out the significant difference of each class of the sample (simple effect). Findings have shown that there is a significant effect of using PWIM to students’ communicative competence which is reflected from the enhancement of students’ comprehension toward the pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary as well as the increase of their motivation and creativity experiencing thelearning process more communicatively.

Abstract

Communication skill nowadays becomes a must that everyone should master. The agreement of such conceptual meaning in communication should meet the same perception among speakers. One of the tools to improve one’s communication skill is by learning pronunciation through Reading Aloud for misperception emerged from mispronunciation can be avoided. This research aims at improving English pronunciation through reading aloud in the form of short texts. The research was carried out in Statistics Data Center (BPS) by employing A Classroom Action Research with two cycles of assessments. There were 20 IT engineers of Networking Operation Center with various background of knowledge as an object of the research. The data was collected by observation, note taking, and test. Questionnaire is designed and administered to identify the participants’ core and frequency of English tasks and also to investigate participants’ previous experiences with English. Findings show that there is an improvement on participants’ pronunciation skill through Reading Aloud as it can be seen from the increase of a mean score on the second cycle with 77.75 that is considered as good predicate.

Abstract

This research aims at identifying register used in the commerce colloquial conversations among sellers and buyers. Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) approach is applied to examine the linguistic features viewed from the aspect of field, tenor and mode of discourse. Findings show that in the field of discourse, registers release the experiential domain of nouns, verbs, idiomatic expression, and word blending. The goal orientation appears to have both short and long term while the social activity results in exchanges among participants. Furthermore, in the field of tenor, participants have an equal agentive role as they have same social function. The social role is non-hierarchic and the social distance is minimal. Finally, in the mode of discourse, both constitutive and ancillary language role formed in present simple, past simple and future simple. The channel is phonic and the medium is spoken with visual contact as it is characterized by the use of back channel signs. The Systemic Functional Linguistics approach employed in this research could be used as the parameter for educators in teaching Sociolinguistics especially in conducting discourse analysis in various colloquial discourse contexts.

Abstract

The utilization of molecular marker technology for Blast (Pyricularia grisea) resistance in rice breeding could accelerate and improve the precision of selection. This study aimed to identify and to select the BC3F2 progenies from Situ Patenggang and the opted Blast Monogenic Lines based on their resistance to blast disease in green house and field using molecular characterization. A total of 200-300 BC3F2 population strains resulted in 4 crosses between Situ Patenggang varieties and Monogenic Varieties IRBLta2-Re, IRBLkp-k60, IRBLi-F5 and IRBLa-A were used as total genetic material in the study. Blast resistance assay was initially carried out in a greenhouse and further selection was conducted in the endemic blast area, Sukabumi. The selected Molecular marker  was STS (Sequence Taq Sites) marker for foreground selection and 384-SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) chip for background selection. The number of lines from each cross was selected by greenhouse assay i.e: 25 lines derived from Situ Patenggang/IRBLta and Situ Patenggang/IRBLkp, 21 plants for crossing Situ Patenggang/IRBLi, and 22 plants for Situ Patenggang/IRBLa-A. The results of field  experiment revealed that blast resistance response of the selected lines was varied from  0 to 5. Lines of foreground were successfully selected using STS markers specified for Pii, Pita, Pikp and Pia genes. As for the background selection by SNPs markers, some lines carried the recurrent parent genetic background, Situ Patenggang. Overall, 20 resistance lines that harbored the target genes and Situ Patenggang background were obtained. Further observation was entailed to these twenty selected lines in order to attain promising lines candidate for blast resistance.

Abstract

Sungai Kupah is one of the villages in Kubu Raya Regency which has diverse natural resources such as flora and fauna as well as natural beauty that has the potential as a tourist attraction. This study aims to assess the object potential and natural attractions of the mangrove area and to find out the characteristics of visitor to the mangrove area of the Sungai Kupah, Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency. This tourist attraction has not been as popular as other tourism because has not been exposed out. This research is expected to promote mangrove Sungai Kupah area more widely. It needs to be researched to assess the potential feasibility of developing the object of natural tourist attraction (ODTWA) Mangrove Sungai Kupah area. The method used is accidental sampling for visitor respondents and purposive sampling for informants. The result from this research, mangrove sungai kupah area get a value of 4.009,62 with an average value of 373 (B) is quite potential to be developed, while the visitor profile is visitors who come more than female visitor, the age range of visitors who mostly come is 17-23 years, with the most dominant marital status being married, the purpose of visiting is forrest or recreation, most visitor come for the first time with the length of the visit is at most 2-2,5 hours, the vehicles used are mostly motorized and knowing the existence of tourist attractions in the mangrove area on the Sungai Kupah river, most of the information comes from friends.Keyword: Accidental Sampling, Sungai Kupah, Tourist AttractionAbstrakSungai Kupah merupakan salah satu desa di Kabupaten Kubu Raya yang memiliki kekayaan alam yang beragam seperti flora dan fauna serta keindahan alam yang berpotensi sebagai daya tarik wisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi objek dan daya tarik wisata alam kawasan mangrove serta mengetahui karakteristik pengunjung kawasan mangrove Sungai Kupah Kecamatan Sungai Kakap Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Objek wisata ini belum sepopuler wisata lainnya karena belum terekspos. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mempromosikan kawasan mangrove Sungai Kupah lebih luas. Perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengkaji potensi kelayakan pengembangan objek wisata alam (ODTWA) kawasan Mangrove Sungai Kupah. Metode yang digunakan adalah accidental sampling untuk responden pengunjung dan purposive sampling untuk informan. Hasil dari penelitian ini, kawasan mangrove sungai kupah mendapatkan nilai 4.009,62 dengan nilai rata-rata 373 (B) cukup potensial untuk dikembangkan, sedangkan profil pengunjung yaitu pengunjung yang datang lebih banyak dari pengunjung perempuan, kisaran usia pengunjung yang paling banyak datang yaitu 17-23 tahun, dengan status pernikahan paling dominan yaitu sudah menikah, tujuan berkunjung yaitu untuk istirahat/rekreasi, paling banyak pengunjung datang pertama kali dengan lama waktu kunjungan paling banyak 2-2,5 jam, kendaraan yang digunakan kebanyakan bermotor dan mengetahui adanya tempat wisata kawasan mangrove di Sungai Kupah kebanyakan informasi dari teman.Kata Kunci : Accidental Sampling, Daya Tarik Wisata, Sungai Kupah

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) Hakikat pembelajaran tematik; (2) Langkah-langkah pembelajaran tematik berbasis kearifan lokal; (3) Hakikat pendidikan kearifan lokal dalam lingkup pembelajaran tematik; (4) Tujuan dan pentingnya pendidikan kearifan lokal dalam lingkup pembelajaran tematik; serta (5) Pengajaran model tematik berbasis kearifan lokal. Artikel ini merupakan penelitian analisis konten/meta analisis yang dilaksanakan melalui lima tahap, yaitu: (1) Pengumpulan data; (2) Penentuan sampel; (3) Pencatatan data; (4) Reduksi; dan (5) Penarikan kesimpulan. Sumber data dalam artikel ini adalah jurnal dan buku yang berkaitan dengan pembelajaran tematik dan pendidikan kearifan lokal. Selanjutnya, objek penelitian adalah proses adaptasi dan kaitannya dengan urgensi kearifan lokal dalam menjawab tantangan zaman. Kesimpulan artikel menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pembelajaran tematik menggunakan tema-tema sebagai objek pembelajarannya; (2) Langkah-langkah model pembelajaran tematik berbasis kearifan lokal diantaranya guru terlebih dahulu membuat RPP, kemudiaan mesisipkan kearifan lokal pada konten materi; (3) Kearifan lokal dalam lingkup model pembelajaran tematik adalah nilai kebaikan yang terkandung dalam kebudayaan sebagai upaya mempertahankan identitas diri anak: (4) Tujuan dan pentingnya pendidikan kearifan lokal dalam lingkup pembelajaran tematik diantaranya untuk mempersiapkan generasi muda yang tanggap akan keunggulan lokal daerahnya; (5) Pengajaran model tematik berbasis kearifan lokal ini akan menjadi koneksi dalam memahamkan anak untuk bertindak tepat dalam menghadapi tantangan global.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to evaluate the effectiveness of the Substitution Drill technique in improving vocabulary mastery in English and its impact on active student participation at Yayasan Kubah Rahmatan Indonesia. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design without a control group. The sample of this research consists of 30 students from grades 2 to 6 with diverse ages and language abilities. The data were gathered by using a pretest and posttest to measure changes in vocabulary mastery, as well as observations to assess students' active participation in learning activities. The data were analyzed by comparing pretest and posttest scores and interpreting the observation results. The findings showed a significant improvement in vocabulary mastery, with the average score increasing from 60.2 on the pretest to 78.4 on the posttest (p 0.01). Additionally, students became more enthusiastic and active in using new vocabulary in sentence contexts. In conclusion, the Substitution Drill technique is effective in improving students' vocabulary mastery and can be implemented as an interesting and beneficial method for teaching English at Yayasan Kubah Rahmatan Indonesia.

Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan salah satu tahap dalam kehidupan manusia yang sering disebut masa pubertas yaitu masa peralihan dari anak-anak ke masa dewasa. Setiap remaja putri akan mengalami perubahan fisik maupun psikis, perubahan ini meliputi semua perkembangannya yang dialami sebagai persiapan memasuki masa dewasa. Menstruasi adalah luruhnya lapisan rahim yang disertai dengan keluarnya darah karena tidak adanya pembuahan. Stres adalah gangguan pada tubuh dan pikiran yang disebabkan oleh perubahan dan tuntutan kehidupan. Stres juga bisa diartikan sebagai tekanan, ketegangan, gangguan yang tidak menyenangkan yang berasal dari luar diri seseorang. Stres merangsang hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal cortex aksis sehingga dihasilkan hormon kortisol. Hormon kortisol menyebabkan terjadinya ketidakseimbangan hormonal termasuk hormon reproduksi sehingga mempengaruhi siklus menstruasi. Metode: Penelitian Penulisan artikel ini menggunakanmetode literature review pada artikel penelitian yang terdapat di database Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kata kunci menstruasi, stress, hubungan, reproduksi, masa remaja. Kriteria artikel yang dipilih adalah artikel yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2019-2024 baik di jurnal nasional maupun internasional. Tinjauan pustaka dilakukan dengan membandingkan metode penelitian, metode pengolahan dan hasil yang diperoleh dari setiap artikel. Tujuan : Berdasarkan beberapa penelitian yang telah penulis review Terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara tingkat stress pada perubahan pola menstruasi Pada Remaja. Simpulan : remaja mengalami peristiwa penting dalam hidup yang tidak terduga, remaja putri juga dipengaruhi oleh faktor kadar hormon akibat stress serta emosi yang kurang stabil. Semakin stress seorang remaja maka semakin berpengaruh terhadap perubahan siklus mesntruasi dan dapat berdampak bagi kesehatan serta kesehatan reproduksinya. Kata kunci: Menstruasi, stres, masa remaja.

Abstract

In rural educational institutions, various obstacles impede the acquisition of the English language. The difficulties experienced in learning English within these rural schools are intricately linked to the environmental conditions surrounding the students, the proficiency of the English instructor, and the overall educational atmosphere. This research examined the obstacles encountered by students engaged in English language studies in rural educational settings. Two English educators who participated in this qualitative research served as respondents. The results of this investigation indicate that the pursuit of English language proficiency in rural schools continues to encounter a multitude of challenges. The process of learning English proved to be arduous for several reasons, including the students' diminished motivation towards the subject and the insufficient external support, such as encouragement from both parents and the broader community.

Abstract

Inovasi pembelajaran merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam dunia pendidikan. Dengan adanya inovasi pembelajaran dari guru, siswa akan lebih termotivasi dalam mengikuti pelajaran. Beberapa aspek pendukung dalam terciptanya inovasi pembelajaran guru antara lain kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah dan supervisi akademik. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini antara lain menganalisis hubungan antara kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah terhadap inovasi pembelajaran guru SD di Kecamatan Salam, Menganalisis hubungan antara supervisi akademik kepala sekolah terhadap inovasi pembelajaran guru SD di Kecamatan Salam dan Menganalisis hubungan antara kompetensi manajerial dan supervisi akademik kepala sekolah terhadap inovasi pembelajaran guru SD di Kecamatan Salam. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Adapun sampel yang diambil sejumlah 104 orang dari populasi guru di kecamatan Salam sebanyak 141. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan antara kompetensi manajerial dengan inovasi pembelajaran. Selain itu, hubungan supervisi akademik terhadap inovasi pembelajaran pun ditemukan adanya pengaruh yang positif. Sementara dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif yang sangat signifikan antara kompetensi manajerial dan supervisi akademik terdapat inovasi pembelajaran guru.
