Abstract

This study aims to provide empirical evidence concerning the influence of risk psychology and investor sentiment on investment decision-making. The focus of this research is individual investors in Malang, who participate in the Indonesian stock market. Data collection was conducted from December 2022 to February 2023, utilizing a proportionate stratified random sampling method. The sample size meeting the specified criteria was 100 respondents, whose data was subsequently analyzed using variance-based structural equation modeling, commonly referred to as SEM-PLS. The findings suggest that risk psychology has a positive, albeit insignificant, effect on investment decision-making. However, risk psychology significantly influences investor sentiment, which in turn has a substantial and positive effect on investment decision-making. The study also provides empirical evidence of a robust indirect effect of risk psychology on investment decision-making. Keywords: psychology of risk, investor sentiment, investment decision

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate factors that contribute to strengthening the business performance of youth entrepreneurs. Based on the Resource-Based Theory (RBV), this study examines the social capital, financial literacy, and emotional intelligence of small and medium-sized business (SME) youth owners' effect on business performance. The link between the variables is evaluated using the Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings demonstrated that youth entrepreneurs' social capital and financial literacy positively and significantly affect emotional intelligence. At the same time, SME performance was directly influenced by the youth owner's emotional intelligence. Based on the research, SME youth owners are urged to strengthen their emotional intelligence to make prudent business choices that would significantly enhance their firm's success. Also, maintaining the relationship and upgrading their financial literacy could indirectly enhance business performance. Managers in SMEs must understand the link between social capital, financial literacy, and emotional intelligence to improve performance. Cultivating strong business networks and relationships, ensuring sound financial practices, and fostering emotionally intelligent leadership can drive stronger business performance and maintain a competitive advantage.

Abstract

Coffee has transformed into a lifestyle for their lovers, and they can sip it anytime when they want. Coffee connoisseurs are hunting for local coffee. They are no longer looking for well-known brands that have been present for a long time. This situation opens up an opportunity for the local coffee industry to evolve. Located on the slopes of Mount Kawi, the Babadan village area settles the proper location to carry out this strategy. The agroforestry system combines the production of pinewood plants and coffee plants. Improving the quality of coffee plants is an ongoing effort to improve the quality or quality of coffee bean products. Increasing the advantages of coffee beans can be done through several approaches: intensification of coffee plants, rehabilitation of coffee plants, and rejuvenation of coffee plants. The output of this approach is expected to increase the income potential of local coffee farmers. Through this community service activity, training and assistance to local farmers to improve farmers' knowledge and skills about good and correct coffee plant care.

Abstract

Businesses focused on sustainable growth would consider intangible assets with unique characteristics that are difficult to imitate in order to provide their business a competitive edge to be the most valuable productive assets. The purpose of this study is to examine the role that the company's intangible assets—specifically, its social and intellectual capital—have in improving overall performance. Manufacturing companies listed on the IDX between 2016 and 2020 make up the study's population. In order to address current hypotheses, the analytical procedure consists of testing the measurement model and structural model. The study's findings demonstrate that intellectual capital directly improves a company's success. But it hasn't been demonstrated that other intangible assets, including social capital, have a direct effect on the firm performance. The results of this model are expected to contribute in improving corporate governance and increasing stakeholder trust in company performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and explain the effect of board diversity, competitive advantage, and firm size on firm value in basic materials sector companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2017 to 2022. The sample of this study used 30 companies from a population of 42 companies that met the sampling criteria, and this study used Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The results show that board diversity has a negative and significant effect on firm value, competitive advantage has a positive and significant effect on firm value, and firm size has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Board diversity has a significant negative effect on firm value, highlighting the importance of consideration in the formation of an inclusive and diverse board composition. On the other hand, the finding that competitive advantage and firm size have a significant positive effect on firm value suggests that internal factors such as economies of scale, capital requirements, and firm size play an important role in determining firm value. These findings provide valuable insights for business practitioners to enhance firm value in the Indonesian natural resources industry.
