Abstract

West Indobaleh Family Planning Village, Nagari Mungo as a community empowerment innovation aimed at increasing the participation of families, communities, the role of government, non-governmental institutions and the private sector in carrying out KKBPK programs by the needs and conditions of the KB Kampung region in West Indobaleh, Nagari Mungo. The method used in this activity is documentary studies, interviews, and quantitative analysis. The results of the KB village data are the residents in West Indobaleh with a total of 1985 inhabitants. The data obtained included 72% of family heads and 28% of non-family members. Then the total number of fertile couples is 365 couples and 86 non-fertile couples. Then the number of residents who have used KB is 140 people, who are using KB 128 people, and those who have not used KB are 274 people. Then the data shows that of 173 households, there were 219 toddlers, of 289 family heads, there were 483 teenagers, and 131 family heads, there were 200 older people. The KB village is also one of BKKBN's work programs that can help the community to set priorities and help realize the goals to be achieved by the family, and to improve the quality of life of the city.

Abstract

Puskesmas Pegambiran is located in Lubuk Begalung Sub-district, Padang City has five villages with a pregnancy complication rate of 19.9% and neonatal complications of 11.74% (2016). The general objective that will be achieved is to increase the number of better health degrees for pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children through promotive and preventive activities. The method used is by conducting surveys and interviews, conduct counseling, demonstrate clean and healthy living habits, anthropometric measurements of infants, toddlers, and pre-school children, observation, pregnancy checks, hemoglobin checks, and counseling. The results obtained were counseling and demonstrations on clean and healthy living behaviors in pre-school age children at Alya Zahira Kindergarten, which all students could participate in and run smoothly. 98% of kindergarten students demonstrated healthy hygiene habits, including washing hands, brushing teeth, and mentioning healthy snacks. Anthropometric measurements of infants and toddlers and pre-school age children showed that weight for age was within normal limits, height/length according to age, and expected limits. 3.7% thin and short toddlers and 1.2% of toddlers have speech delays, 1.2% children under five with a history of epilepsy, and need further treatment, so referrals are made. 1.2% of children under five were referred to because they did not recognize colors. All pregnant women (100%) have normal hemoglobin levels (10 g / dl), and pregnancy conditions are appropriate for their gestational age. It is hoped that further community service activities will be carried out by applying the partnership midwifery practice model (mentoring) to the above targets for several months. There are changes in behavior patterns for promotive and preventive actions that have been given.

Abstract

Pesisir Selatan Regency is one of the districts with 15 sub-districts with the largest population in IV Jurai District. The number of deaths per year on the South Coast fluctuates. In 2015 the number of infant deaths increased from 6 to 42 people (male 29 and 13 female) from the previous year, AKABA of 47 from 18 in the previous year. There were 16 toddlers with herniated nutrition and many pregnant women, namely around 273 pregnant women. Based on a preliminary study conducted by the activity implementation team at the Lumpo Public Health Center, IV Jurai District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, it is known that there is no ultrasound examination facility in pregnancy and prenatal yoga facilities at the Lumpo Puskesmas, besides that there are no similar activities carried out at SD Negeri 016 and MTsN. Nagari Lumpo which is included in the work area of Lumpo Puskesmas. Several tests can be done during pregnancy as an effort to detect early and prevent complications and growth disorders in the fetus. Among others, by monitoring weight gain during pregnancy, conducting general examinations (vital signs), physical examinations that focus on the breasts, abdomen, genitalia with inspection, palpation, auscultation, and percussion, ultrasonography (USG) examinations, and performing supporting examinations in the form of laboratory examination (hemoglobin examination). The result of this activity is an increase in each target group's quality of life by the stages of life after this activity.

Abstract

The postpartum period is an important period for health workers to always monitor to avoid complications during the puerperium. Improper implementation can increase the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). During this pandemic, pregnant and breastfeeding women are categorized as vulnerable to Covid-19 corona virus infection because they have low immunity due to hormonal changes. As of June 4, 2020, there were 594 positive cases of Covid-19 for the West Sumatra region, 25 people died and 312 people recovered. There is a need for the role of health workers and the education department, husband's involvement and family participation with sustainable midwifery care. the method is carried out by interviewing and providing online and contact care according to the health protocol from the ministry of health. The application of the model of continuous care (Continuity of Care) is given since pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period for all women, both low and highrisk mothers and in all series of midwifery units in West Sumatra. The results of the activity showed that the awareness of mothers, husbands and families to be able to provide assistance and implementation of the fulfillment of the physical and psychological needs of mothers during childbirth by paying attention to environmental conditions in this Covid-19 pandemic era. Evaluation of midwifery care until the end of the puerperium needs to be carried out in order to assess better postpartum outcomes and the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Community midwifery is a midwifery service that emphasizes the psychosocial and cultural aspects of the community. This activity was carried out in RW 03 in the Lambung Bukit Village, Pauh District, Padang City through the Community Midwifery and Family Oriented Midwifery Education approach. Data were obtained which were the main problem that occurred in the Batu Busuk area community. inaccurate and waste disposal in ditches/rivers), skin diseases which are mostly suffered by toddlers and children and there is still a lack of variety in choosing the type of Family Planning (KB) method by couples of childbearing age (PUS) which is limited to the choice of Injectable KB methods and Pill. As a form of problem solving, interventions are carried out in the form of extension activities related to the problems found. The purpose of this activity is as a preventive and promotive effort in the form of midwifery services by involving community participation. The method used in prioritizing the problems found is using the weighting method, which is the process of assigning values ​​to selected problems to compare a criterion with other criteria by looking at the weight value. The conclusion of this activity is the implementation of counseling that can increase knowledge and change people's behavior so that they care more about clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), know variations in choosing family planning methods and can ultimately improve the health status of the community as a whole.

Abstract

Background: Nausea and vomiting are common symptoms in pregnancy caused by hormonal changes. Although physiological, if not properly managed, these symptoms can lead to nutritional disturbances, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and hyperemesis gravidarum. Proper management is essential to alleviate nausea and vomiting and prevent pregnancy complications. Non-pharmacological methods are preferred to manage nausea and vomiting in pregnancy due to their lack of side effects.   Objectives: This study aims to assess the impact of moxibustion on the P6 (Neiguan) and ST36 (Zusanli) acupoints on the incidence of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Moxibustion is known for its effectiveness in stimulating Qi at specific points that may be difficult to access through acupressure alone, thus improving the body's energy balancing process. The intervention is intended to improve pregnancy health outcomes.Methods: This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest one-group framework to evaluate the effectiveness of moxibustion on nausea and vomiting during the first trimester of pregnancy. The participants consisted of 30 pregnant women selected using quota sampling based on inclusion criteria at selected independent midwifery practices. The instrument used was the Pregnancy Unique Quantification of Emesis (PUQE) to assess the intensity of nausea and vomiting in the respondents.  Results: The results show a significant difference in the incidence of nausea and vomiting in the first trimester before and after moxibustion treatment (p < 0.05).Conclusions: Therefore, it can be concluded that moxibustion is beneficial in reducing nausea and vomiting symptoms during the early stages of pregnancy
