Abstract

Penggunaan bahan alami seperti pati beras, bengkuang dan oatmeal sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan masker wajah belum pernah dilakukan dan dipublikasi dalam bentuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada siswa-siswi SMA IT Khairul Imam terhadap pemanfaatan bahan alami dalam pembuatan masker wajah. Bahan alami yang digunakan adalah pati beras yang mengandung senyawa gamma oryzanol sebagai antioksidan kuat dan vitamin E yang memiliki khasiat menangkal radiasi ultraviolet, menghilangkan noda hitam, mengangkat sel kulit mati, dan menjadikan kulit lebih bersih, mulus dan bercahaya; bengkuang yang mengandung vitamin C, vitamin B1 dan zat fenolik yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan dan efektif dalam menghambat proses pembentukan melanin (figmentasi); serta oatmeal yang memiliki kandungan vitamin E, vitamin B5, B2 dan B3 yang berfungsi untuk menjaga dan melindungi kesehatan kulit agar tetap lembab dan sehat. Berdasarkan kandungan dan khasiatnya, ketiga bagian tersebut sangat cocok untuk dijadikan masker wajah. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan memberikan materi yang terkait dengan sediaan masker wajah dan bahan alami yang digunakan dan memberikan demonstrasi langsung tentang cara pembuatan masker wajah. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan ini adalah meningkatkan minat dan ketertarikan siswa-siswi untuk membuat sendiri masker berbahan alami.

Abstract

Coffee contains polyphenols as antioxidant compounds. The content contained in temu giring is a compound of alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenoids, saponins and tannins as antioxidants. Ginger contains gingerol, beta-carotene, caffeic acid, curcumin as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to determine whether coffee drink combined with ginger extract (Zingiber officinale) and temu giring extract (Curcuma heyneana) had antioxidant capacity and was favored by volunteers. This research experimentally prepares a coffee drink that combines ginger extract and temu giring extract and demonstrates the discovery of simplicia, the production of ginger extract and temu giring extract, as well as formula optimization using SLD (simplex lattice design) and conducting a survey of respondents on each formula. The yield of ginger simplicia was 500 g and temu giring 750 g with a weight of 88.8 g of ginger extract and 98.2 g of temu giring extract. Determination of formula optimization using SLD is based on the antioxidant activity of the optimal formula, namely the ratio of ginger: temu giring (1/4: 3/4) formula II and the hedonist result of each formula is formula IV with a ratio of ginger: temu giring (3/4). : 1/4).

Abstract

ABSTRAK Ayam broiler merupakan salah satu sumber protein hewani yang murah. Ayam broiler sebagai penghasil daging mempunyai pertumbuhan yang cepat, dengan deposisi lemak dan protein tinggi. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh pemberian 3% ekstrak kombinasi tumbuhan obat daun pepaya, daun alpukat, herba meniran, daun sirsak, kunyit dan temulawak dengan berbagai rasio terhadap kadar protein ayam broiler.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental. Metode penelitian meliputi penyiapan bahan uji berupa pengumpulan dan pengolahan tumbuhan, identifikasi tumbuhan dengan cara studi pustaka, pembuatan serbuk simplisia, pembuatan ekstrak etanol dari daun pepaya, daun sirsak dan herba meniran, pembuatan ekstrak akuades dari daun sirsak, kunyit, dan temulawak, pembuatan pakan yang diformulasikan dengan kombinasi ekstrak tumbuhan obat sesuai dengan formula, pemeliharaan ayam, pengambilan sampel daging ayam, serta pengujian sampel daging yakni analisis kadar protein daging ayam dengan menggunakan metode Kjedahl. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan dibandingkan secara deskriptif dengan F0 yang menggunakan pakan komersial.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak tumbuhan obat sebanyak 3% tidak mempengaruhi kadar protein daging ayam. Hasil analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak kombinasi tumbuhan obat tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (sig.> 0.05) terhadap kadar protein daging ayam broiler. Kata Kunci : Broiler; Ekstrak Kombinasi Tumbuhan Obat; Kadar Protein. ABSTRACT Broiler chicken is a cheap source of animal protein. Broiler chickens as meat producers have fast growth, with high fat and protein deposition. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving 3% combination extracts of medicinal plants papaya leaves, avocado leaves, meniran herbs, soursop leaves, turmeric and temulawak with various ratios on the protein content of broiler chickens. This study was an experimental study. The research method includes the preparation of test materials in the form of collecting and processing plants, identifying plants by means of a literature study, making simplicia powder, making ethanol extracts from papaya leaves, soursop leaves and meniran herbs, making aquadest extracts from soursop leaves, turmeric, and temulawak, making feed. which is formulated with a combination of medicinal plant extracts according to the formula, raising chickens, taking samples of chicken meat, and testing meat samples, namely the analysis of protein content of chicken meat using the Kjedahl method. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of four treatments and six replications. The data obtained were analyzed by means of variance (ANOVA) and compared descriptively with F0 using commercial feed. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the addition of a combination of medicinal plant extracts did not have a significant effect (sig.> 0.05) on the protein content of broiler meat. Abstract

ABSTRAK Feed Additive adalah bahan tambahan yang digunakan pada pakan ternak untuk mendapatkan pertumbuhan ternak yang optimal. Beberapa tumbuhan seperti daun pepaya, daun alpukat, daun sirsak, herba meniran, kunyit, dan temulawak merupakan tumbuhan yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri, antiparasit, menurunkan kadar kolesterol, meningkatkan sistem imun, dan meningkatkan metabolisme sehingga memiliki potensi sebagai feed additive dalam sediaan formulasi. Formula diuji dengan pemberian pakan pada ayam yang dapat digunakan oleh masyarakat. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling dengan tahapan yaitu daun pepaya, daun alpukat, daun sirsak, herba meniran, kunyit dan temulawak masing-masing diekstraksi maserasi dan dekok menggunakan pelarut etanol dan aquadest kemudian di formulasi dan dilakukan pencampuran ke dalam ransum yang di uji terhadap 24 ekor ayam broiler. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah bobot badan ayam broiler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi ekstrak tumbuhan obat sebagai Feed Additive secara umum mampu meningkatkan bobot badan, bahkan pada Formulasi 1 memberikan pengaruh meningkatkan bobot badan akhir ayam broiler yang paling besar. Hal ini menunjukkan ekstrak tumbuhan obat Formulasi 1 memiliki efek terhadap peningkatan bobot badan. Kata Kunci : Feed Additive; Bobot Badan; Ekstrak; Tumbuhan Obat; Ayam broiler. ABSTRACT Feed Additives are additional ingredients used in animal feed to get optimal livestock growth. Some plants such as papaya leaves, avocado leaves, soursop leaves, meniran herbs, turmeric, and javanese tumeric are plants that have activities as antibacterial, antiparasitic, reduce cholesterol levels, increase the immune system, and increase metabolism so that it has the potential as feed additives for the formulation. The formula is tested by feeding it to the chicken that can be used by the community. The method used was purposive sampling which is extraction by maceration and decoction of papaya leaves, avocado leaves, soursop leaves, herbaceous meniran, turmeric and javanese tumeric using ethanol and aquadest as the solvents then formulated and mixed into rations then tested against 24 broilers. The design used in the research is the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 handling and 6 replications than the data were analyzed using ANOVA. The parameter observed for this study was the body weight of broiler chickens. The results showed that the combination of medicinal plant extracts as a Feed Additive generally was able to increase body weight of the broiler chickens, even in Formulation 1, the body weight of broiler chickens increased the largest. This shows that the medicinal plant extract of Formulation 1 has an effect on increasing body weight. Keyword: Feed Additive; Body Weight; Extracts; Medicinal Plant; Broiler chicken.

Abstract

Indonesia's natural wealth that is efficacious in suppressing cholesterol, hypertension, diarrhea, gastritis and blood sugar is one of the bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum Wight.). Tablets are preparations that are practical to use, easy to produce, pack, and distribute. The research was directed to make tablets of bay leaf ethanol extract (EEDS) by direct compression. EEDS tablets were made into four formulas with various fillers of lactose and Avicel PH 102, each 200 mg : 135 mg A); 250 mg : 105 mg (B); 300 mg : 55 mg (C); and 350 mg : 5 mg (D). The study showed that all formulas met the preformulation test requirements and tablet evaluation, D as the best formula. EEDS is made into tablets by direct compression.

Abstract

Coffee drinks are one of the most popular drinks for people of all ages, especially adults. But now with the addition of flavor, most people are enjoying coffee drinks.The purpose of the study was to see the effect of fermentation on the taste and aroma of brewed Arabica coffee with Lactobacillus casei and yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae isolates with the addition of grape juice and sucrose and the level of toxicity of the fermentation of brewed Arabica coffee with the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT).This research is experimental, namely the fermentation of brewed Arabica coffee with Lactobacillus casei and yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae isolates with the addition of grape juice and sucrose. Fermentation was carried out for 3 days at open room temperature under anaerobic conditions. The results of the fermentation were tested for Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT), alcohol content test and organoleptic test by 15 panelists. Furthermore, the data were tested using the hedonic test of analysis of variance.The results of the variance showed that the fermentation of roasted Arabica coffee and green beans on taste obtained F count < F table 1% showed no significant difference, for aroma obtained F count > F table 1% showed there was a significant difference, to the color of the steeped fermented sample Roasted Arabica coffee obtained F count < F table 1% shows there is no real difference while in green beans obtained F count > F table 1% shows there is a significant difference.

Abstract

The plant of findings turmeric (Curcuma longa) are often used as a traditional medicinal. The part of the turmeric plant that is often used is the rhizome. In addition to turmeric rhizome, turmeric leaves are also used as a flavoring dish. Among the benefits of turmeric leaves is as an antimicrobial. Soap is a surfactant used for washing and cleaning. Antiseptics are inhibitors for the growth and development of microorganisms that live on the surface of the body. The study was to determine which ethanol extract of turmeric leaves could be formulated into antiseptic solid soap preparations. This study used an experimental method, turmeric leaves were extracted with 70% ethanol. The formula made are 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%. The quality of the soap preparation was carried out by organoleptic tests, acidity, high foam and irritation. The results test showed that the solid soap did not have the aroma of turmeric leaves, the pH of the soap was 9.9-10.5; foam height with a concentration of 7.5% which is 7.3 cm; and solid soap preparations ethanol extract of turmeric leaves did not cause irritation. The extract of turmeric leaves can be formulated into solid soap preparations. It is recommended to add perfume to the formulation of solid soap preparations of turmeric leaf extract as an antiseptic.

Abstract

Diarrhea is characterized by the excretion of liquid stools with a frequency of three or more times a day, due to gastrointestinal infections due to food and water contaminated with microorganisms, or directly from humans due to poor sanitation. This study was to determine the characteristics of diarrhea patients, treatment and cost-effectiveness of treatment at Putri Hijau Hospital, Medan. The non-experimental research is descriptive and retrospective in nature of financial patient medical records from July to December 2018. Cost Effectiveness Analysis as a method of cost analysis. The characteristics of the patients obtained were 14 women (46.670%) and 16 men (53.33%). The effectiveness of New Diatabs (92.30%) and New Diatabs Metronidazole (94.11%). The cost of therapy with New Diatabs is Rp. 1,547,771/patient and New Diatabs Metronidazole is Rp. 1,562,590/patient. Average cost-effectiveness New Diatabs Rp. 190,345 and New Diatabs Metronidazole Rp. 183,060, so it is concluded that the cost-effective therapy is the use of the combination of New Diatabs Metronidazole compared to New Diatabs.

Abstract

Kopi mengandung polyphenol sebagai senyawa antioksidan. Kandungan yang terdapat pada temu giring adalah senyawa alkaloida, flavonoida, triterpenoida, saponin dan tanin sebagai antioksidan. Jahe mengandung gingerol, beta-caroten, asam mengandung gingerol, beta-caroten, asamkafeat, curc kafeat, curcumin sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan dari p umin sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan dari penelitian enelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah minuman kopi yang dikombinasikan dengan ekstrak jahe ( Zingiber officinale) dan ekstrak temu giring (Curcuma heyneana) memiliki kapasitas antioksidan dan disukai oleh sukarelawan. Penelitian ini secara eksperimental dalam menyiapkan minuman kopi yang menggabungk menggabungkan ekstrak jahe ekstrak jahe dan ekstrak temu ekstrak temu giring dan giring dan mendemonstrasi mendemonstrasikan penemuan simplisia, penemuan simplisia, produksi produksi ekstrak ekstrak jahe dan temu giring, giring, serta optimasi optimasi formula formula menggunaka menggunakan SLD ( simplex simplex lattice lattice design) dan melakukan survey survey responden responden pada setiap formula. Rendemen simplisia jahe 500 g dan temu giring 750 g giring 750 g dengan berat ekstrak jahe sebanya dengan berat ekstrak jahe sebanyak 88,8 g k 88,8 g dan berat ekstrak temu giring sebanyak 98, dan berat ekstrak temu giring sebanyak 98,2 g. Penentuan optimasi formula menggunakan SLD didasarkan pada aktivitas antioksidan formula yang optimal, yaitu rasio jahe : temu giring (1/4 : optimal, yaitu rasio jahe : temu giring (1/4 : 3/4) formula II dan hasil formula II dan hasil hedonist masing-masing formula adalah formula IV dengan rasio jahe : temu giring (3/4 : 1/4)
