Abstract

Vehicles powered by gasoline still dominate the roads in Jakarta and its surrounding areas. This has led to uncontrollable levels of pollution in Jakarta. Electric vehicles are one solution to reduce the pollution levels in the city. Since it is not feasible to eliminate all gasoline-powered vehicles to switch to electric vehicles, converting these vehicles into electric ones is a viable solution to address this issue. One of the most widely used gasoline-powered vehicles is the motorcycle. The large number of gasoline motorcycles in Jakarta presents an opportunity for automotive communities, such as conventional vehicle workshops, to participate in the transition to electric vehicles. However, the automotive community must be skilled in converting gasoline motorcycles to electric ones. Training on converting gasoline motorcycles to electric has been conducted for the automotive community in Jakarta. Training participants come from various educational backgrounds, ranging from high school/vocational school to university graduates. As a result, the training participants have been able to increase their knowledge and skills in converting gasoline motorcycles to electric ones by up to 20.54%.

Abstract

Accurately forecasting the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of lithium-ion batteries is critical for optimizing battery management and ensuring operational reliability. This study compares the performance of two deep learning architectures—a Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) and a one-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1D-CNN)—in predicting RUL using datasets from CALCE batteries B35, B36, and B37. Data preprocessing involved outlier removal, missing value handling, and feature normalization, with key features extracted including Resistance, Constant Voltage Charging Time (CVCT), and Constant Current Charging Time (CCCT). Correlation analyses confirmed strong relationships between these features and RUL. Both models were trained and validated on preprocessed data, and their predictive accuracies were assessed using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and coefficient of determination (R2). Results indicated that while both architectures effectively captured battery degradation patterns, the MLP consistently outperformed the 1D-CNN, achieving on average 5% lower RMSE and 1.5% higher R2 across all tested batteries. These findings suggest that simpler fully connected networks may suffice for this forecasting task under the given feature set and preprocessing conditions. This work provides valuable insights into neural network model selection for battery health prognostics, guiding the development of efficient and accurate predictive maintenance strategies.

Abstract

Sebaliknya, kontrol PID mode PI memberikan kestabilan temperatur dengan toleransi ±1˚C dengan rise time 2,43 menit, settling time 29,025 menit.

Abstract

Climate change is a global issue that significantly challenges water resources, especially in regions with limited public awareness about water conservation. It manifests through rising global temperatures, shifting weather patterns, more frequent and intense natural disasters, and instability in water availability. These problems are worsened by low public awareness and the reliance on steam power plants for water pumps. Addressing these challenges requires educational media that raises awareness about the causes and impacts of climate change. This study introduces the early development of a Virtual Reality (VR) platform utilizing Vircadia, focused on creating a 3D world and monitoring water quality with the support of solar power. Vircadia, an open-source platform, offers developers the flexibility to build and host virtual worlds on their servers, providing greater control over the environment, scalability, and customization. With Vircadia, we can rapidly implement a VR platform that integrates custom assets from Blender and personalized avatars from Ready Player Me. Vircadia can seamlessly connect to IoT platforms via weblink, allowing for real-time monitoring of water quality parameters and enabling users to interact directly with and oversee IoT devices within the VR environment. This paper discusses why we chose Ready Player Me and Blender as platforms for building 3D avatars and assets, and Vircadia as the VR Platform. Additionally, it addresses challenges encountered when using Vircadia, such as asset optimization and IoT device integration. Future research will focus on optimizing asset quality, enhancing IoT integration, and implementing carbon emissions monitoring within the VR platform.

Abstract

Implementation of software design for vacuum forming machines is the focus of this paper. This vacuum forming machine will be used for small and medium industries (IKM) in food in Indonesia, where the packaging process is essential. Packaging materials in the food business are polystyrene plastic (PS) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which are generally sold freely in specific sizes. The problem that arises in SMEs is the packaging that does not fit, both the size and shape of the product. On the other hand, small-scale packaging machines are still quite expensive in terms of cost because the machines do not originate domestically. Therefore, an IKM scale Vacuum Forming machine with economical costs is needed for the IKM business. Testing software for vacuum forming machines has been running using Labview and Arduino by utilizing serial USB communication with NI-Visa. The experimental results of the designed system have been successfully implemented to the sensors and actuators via the Arduino Uno, indicating that temperature control can stabilize the heat after 3 minutes of heating. Meanwhile, the software that has been designed has been successfully implemented on LabView can monitor and help operators to use the machine easily.
