Abstract

Temperatur udara ambient berpengaruh pada performa turbin gas. Temperatur yang tinggi mengakibatkan masa jenis udara menjadi rendah sehingga pada laju aliran udara masuk kompresor lebih sedikit. Teknologi untuk memitigasi permasalahan ini adalah penggunaan Turbine Inlet Air Cooling (TIAC) pada inlet air system turbin gas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain air cooler dengan tipe staggered continous finned tube compact heat exchanger pada turbin gas Lm6000 milik PT.X di Karawang. Proses perancangan air cooler dilakukan dengan  menggunakan perhitungan Kern. Data yang dibutuhkan dalam penelitian ini adalah data dimensi maksimum air cooler, data temperatur air pendingin, data pengoperasi turbin gas dan data bahan bakar yang diambil sebelum dan sesudah pemasangan TIAC menggunakan beban turbin gas yang sama yaitu 22 MW. Hasil yang didapat dari proses perancangan air cooler adalah desain air cooler dengan 187 tube bundle dan nilai koefisien konveksi keseluruhan sebesar 35,4 W/m²°C. Analisis performa turbin gas menunjukkan bahwa temperatur inlet low pressure compressor mengalami penurunan rata-rata sebesar 3,5°C, sementara efisiensi siklus rata-rata meningkat sebesar 1,65%. Adapun peningkatan daya bersih rata-rata sebesar 0,496 MW karenanya dapat menghasilkan  penghematan biaya bahan bakar sebesar Rp1.554.257.011 per tahun.

Abstract

Kebutuhan akan makanan sehat saat ini menjadi prioritas bagi masyarakat perkotaan. Di tengah-tengah isu banyaknya makanan seperti sayuran yang sudah terkontaminasi oleh zat kimia dalam proses pengembangannya menjadi salah satu kekhawatiran masyarakat. Kini budidaya tanaman hidroponik menjadi pilihan masyarakat perkotaan, karena dinilai sangat efektif bagi masyarakat yang ingin memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi sayur mayur sehari-hari dengan kualitas pangan yang sehat dan alami. Berbagai metode pun ditawarkan untuk memaksimalkan hasil meski lahan terbatas.Namun bagi masyarakat perkotaan masih terdapat kendala lainnya, yakni tingkat kesibukan masyarakat kota dalam bekerja dan beraktifitas di luar rumah berdampak pada kurangnya waktu untuk melakukan hal lain seperti mengurus tanaman. Melalui program Pengabdian Masyarakat, Program Studi Teknik Mesin, Jurusan Teknik Mesin, Politeknik Negeri Jakarta memperkenalkan sebuah sistem hidroponik otomatis sehingga budidaya tanaman seperti sayuran di masyarakat kota dapat dilakukan.  Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan adalah dengan cara : 1) penyuluhan, 2) demonstrasi, dan 3) penyerahan alat. Hasil kegiatan dapat disimpulkan yakni peserta semakin tertarik membudidaya tanaman hidroponik menggunakan sistem otomatis.

Abstract

The study comprises dynotest design and analysis to measure torque and horsepower. Basically, a dynotest carried out by apply certain load to the axle of a combustion motor through the braking mechanism of its crankshaft. Due to the high price of a Dynotest unit in the market, it is relatively difficult for a developing institution to own it on their site. The study target to design a simple and good accurate Dynotest within a reasonable price. The study used a common standard method for design analysis which rely on function and structural approach. Functionally, Dynotest is designed to be used to an ouput of an electical motor. Loading on motor shaft was done by disc brake braking mechanism. Structurally, Dynotest was designed to use rollers. As a main component, its mounting construction is connected to a motor to generate electrical power. Power transmitted from the motor to Dynotest through a center joint shaft, torque measured by load cell while the rotation of shaft itself counted by a digital tachometer. Test result show that electricity was produced from the simple construction and Dynotest functioned well in measuring it. Measurement data of roller support shaft performance showed a motor torque performance curve which are similar with the typical of similar Dynotest. Construction Test done by applying Solid Work software analysis to some components partially on rollers and on the construction assembly as a whole unit

Abstract

The conversion of conventional motor vehicles to electric vehicles has become a popular choice in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution from transportation. Electric vehicle conversion involves replacing a gasoline or diesel engine with an electric motor and a reinstalled battery. In this paper, we cover the basics of electric vehicle conversion, conversion methods, and trial results of converted electric vehicles. We also discuss the benefits and challenges of converting to electric vehicles. Abstract

Various PLTS systems have been installed in the Energy Laboratory of Politeknik Negeri Jakarta, ranging from on grid, off grid, and SHS systems, and various sources of PLTH, PLN, and Generator Set (Genset.) However, the problem that occurs there is that the hybrid system in the Lab. Solar System PNJ room cannot be monitored easily and controlled automatically. As a result of these problems, monitoring the performance of hybrid systems and learning in the PNJ Solar Systems Lab cannot be done optimally. The power source in the lab can be combined in a Hybrid PLTS system and generator with a switch method using the ATS switch control system and monitoring for student learning. The purpose of this research will be to analyze the economic value and use of ATS switches for various concepts in saving electricity in a certain period of time using project management analysis so that it can see the feasibility of this project to be implemented or not. The method in this study is to calculate the economic feasibility value, then find the value of Internal Rate of Return (IRR), NPV, Payback Period using Microsoft excel software and analyze project risks. The results obtained in this project are the IRR value> Interest rate, namely 6.51%> 5.75%. The NPV value obtained is Rp. Rp.572,252 with a payback period in year 12. From the results obtained, this project is declared feasible to continue.

Abstract

The increasing usage of plastic is proportional to the amount of plastic waste today. The plastic usage makes the human live easier especially for packaging purposes. However, it also has a negative impact to the environment. This is due to it cannot easily decompose. Therefore, it can reduce the level of soil fertility. Besides plastic, lubricant waste from motor vehicles can induce an environmental problem as well since it is categorized of hazardous material (B3) waste. Currently, the use of plastic waste has been widely carried out by correlating into liquid fuel through thermal cracking or pyrolysis treatment. It produces liquid and it can be used as an alternative liquid fuel. This study uses the co-pyrolysis method for treating the used plastic waste with used lubricants. The composition ratios used are 10:0, 10:2, 10:4, 10:6, and 10:8. The highest acquisition of liquid products was in the composition ratio of 10:6 as much as 24.67% with a calorific value of 11015.33 cal/g. Then the highest calorific, density, and viscosity values were obtained, namely at the 10:8 composition ratio of 11061.67 cal/g, 0.8906 g/mL, and 0.927 cSt. It was concluded that the mixing of used lubricants in the co-pyrolysis of LDPE plastic waste was able to increase the calorific value of the liquid product produced.

Abstract

Lithium batteries play a critical role in modern technological applications, including electric vehicles and portable electronic devices. Ensuring accurate estimation of their remaining useful life is essential to improve system efficiency and reliability. This study focuses on predicting the remaining useful life of lithium batteries using advanced regression methods. Data were collected from lithium battery charge-discharge cycles, encompassing key operational parameters such as voltage, current, and temperature. The analysis employed several regression models, including linear regression, lasso regression, and Ridge regression, to identify relationships between these parameters and battery life. The models were evaluated based on estimation accuracy, with Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) as the primary performance metric. The findings demonstrate that regression methods can effectively capture non-linear relationships between input variables and the remaining useful life, with lasso and Ridge regression showing superior performance in reducing prediction errors. These results underscore the potential of regression-based approaches in providing robust and reliable estimations of battery life. The conclusions highlight the importance of these models for developing predictive battery management systems, which can optimize battery performance and extend their operational lifespan across various applications. This research establishes a solid foundation for future studies on intelligent battery health monitoring and management.

Abstract

Pada PLTP-X sering mengalami permasalahan sering trip/manual shut down pada diesel engine yang mensuplai energi listrik untuk penerangan operasional dan pompa incjetion ke sumur. Permasalahan tersebut di akibatkan oleh tersumbatnya sistem penyaring bahan bakar B30, karena terbentuknya gelling/deposit pada kondisi malam hari pada suhu rendah 14-17°C di site PLTP-X. B30 di pakai karena,di wajibkan oleh Peraturan Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) tahun 2020 tentang Penyediaan, Pemanfaatan dan Tata Niaga Bahan Bakar Nabati (Biofuel) sebagai Bahan Bakar Lain. Untuk itu diperlukan cara mengurangi pembentukan gelling/deposit agar permasalahan penyumbatan penyaring bahan bakar dapat di tanggulangi serta bahan bakar B30 dapat di pakai pada suhu rendah 14-17°C di site PLTP-X. Metode penelitan yang akan di pakai adalah dengan cara eskperimental yaitu memvariasikan penambahan zat aditif komersil pada bahan bakar B30 0%;,1,6%;,3,3%;, dan 5%. Hasilnya menunjukkan dengan penambahan aditif komersil dapat mengurangi pembentukan deposit bahan bakar B30 pada suhu rendah 14-17°C dengan menurunkan nilai propertis densitas  dari 880 kg/m3 menjadi 878 kg/m3, viskositas 8,8 mm2/s menjadi 5,3 mm2/s, menaikkan titik tuang awal dari 18°C menjadi 15°C dan nilai kalori 10198 cal/kg menjadi 10644 cal/kg.

Abstract

Botol bayi memiliki peranan penting dalam memberikan susu formula atau ASI kepada bayi karena kemudahan dan efisiensi penggunaannya. Penandaan atau penakaran volume pada botol merupakan hal krusial dalam produksi karena dapat menyebabkan campuran susu formula yang tidak sesuai berpotensi membahayakan bayi. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem inspeksi visual berbasis machine vision untuk membantu proses pengujian penanda volume untuk memastikan botol susu bayi memenuhi standar sehingga dapat dijual. Untuk mengembangkan sistemnya digunakan model objek deteksi YOLOv4 Tiny. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa sistem mempunyai nilai tingkat pengenalan sebesar 96,86% dari 5 kali percobaan pada 14 botol sampel. Kemudian akurasi sistem dalam mengidentifikasikan volume sesuai batas toleransi sebesar 92,57%, error deteksi terdapat pada volume 0 – 50 ml dan 50 – 100 ml.

Abstract

The Mekartani Community faces two major challenges in managing its hydroponic garden, the high electricity costs for operating the Internet of Things (IoT)-based system and the discontinuation of internet connectivity support from the local government, which has rendered the automation system unable to function optimally. This community service program was implemented to support the adoption of renewable energy through the installation of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) system integrated with an Internet of Things (IoT)- based hydroponic unit at the Mekartani Community Hydroponic Garden, RW 016, Mekarjaya Village, Depok. The activities began with coordination with the RW and Village Team, inspection of existing components, and updating the IoT-based monitoring system. By installing mobile Wi-Fi devices and IoT- based power meters, electricity consumption was monitored for one month to determine the appropriate energy requirements, averaging 3.6 kWh per day. The installation of solar panels and improvement of the IoT-based monitoring system was carried out by the Energy Conversion Engineering Technology Lecturers Team from PNJ, along with PNJ students. Operational and maintenance training on the PLTS and IoT hydroponic system was provided to the community to ensure system sustainability. Survey results indicated that more than 90% of the partners experienced benefits from this program, in terms of ease of maintenance and hydroponic monitoring, supporting both environmental sustainability and the community’s economy. Keywords, Hydroponics, Solar Panels, Control System, Monitoring, Mekartani Community Abstrak Komunitas Mekartani menghadapi dua kendala utama dalam pengelolaan kebun hidroponik, yaitu tingginya biaya listrik untuk operasional sistem berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) dan terhentinya dukungan koneksi internet dari pemerintah daerah, sehingga sistem otomatisasi tidak dapat berfungsi optimal. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk mendukung penerapan energi terbarukan melalui pemasangan sistem Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) yang terintegrasi dengan unit hidroponik berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) di Kebun Hidroponik Komunitas Mekartani, RW 016, Kelurahan Mekarjaya, Depok. Kegiatan ini dimulai dengan koordinasi bersama Tim RW dan Kelurahan, pengecekan komponen yang ada, serta pembaruan sistem monitoring berbasis IoT. Dengan pemasangan perangkat mobile Wi-Fi dan power meter berbasis IoT, konsumsi listrik dipantau selama satu bulan untuk menentukan kebutuhan energi yang tepat, yaitu rata-rata 3,6 kWh per hari. Pemasangan panel surya dan penyempurnaan sistem monitoring berbasis IoT dilakukan oleh Tim Dosen Teknologi Rekayasa Konversi Energi PNJ bersama mahasiswa PNJ. Pelatihan operasional dan pemeliharaan PLTS serta sistem IoT hidroponik diberikan kepada komunitas untuk memastikan keberlanjutan sistem. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 90% mitra merasakan manfaat dari kegiatan ini, baik dari segi kemudahan perawatan maupun monitoring hidroponik, yang mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan dan ekonomi komunitas.
