Abstract

The capture fisheries sector is one of the sectors that play an important role in national economic development, provision of protein food, foreign exchange capture, and employment opportunities. The capture fisheries sector makes a major contribution as a leading commodity in Situbondo Regency with the longest coastline in East Java. Leading commodities are needed as an effort to determine development in the fisheries sector and can improve the regional economy. The purpose of this study is to discuss the calculation of superior fisheries commodities in 4 Districts of Situbondo Regency that have the greatest catch potential using the Location Quotient (LQ) method. LQ measures the specialization of economic activity through a comparative approach to get an overview in determining the leading sector as the leading sector of industrial economic activity. Based on the Location Quotient (LQ) method, the leading capture fisheries commodities in Besuki District are Layang, Teri, and Tongkol; Panarukan District, namely Kakap, Pari, Teri, Rajungan, Crab, shrimp, and other fish; Jangkar District, namely Petek, Beloso, Bambang, Kakap, Kurisi, Cucut, Bawal, Selar, Belanak, Teri, Crab, Layur fish; Banyuputih District, namely Petek, Beloso, Belanak, Teri, and Layur fish.

Abstract

The importance of waters as an economic resource, especially in the context of the organic material content that influences the life of marine organisms. The research focuses on the organic material content in the waters of Kalbut Beach, Situbondo Regency using the titrimetric method. The results showed significant differences in organic matter concentrations between the three water sampling points (R1, R2, R3), indicating potential pollutants in the region. This research shows that the organic matter content in seawater can be an important indicator for evaluating the level of pollution or sustainability of the aquatic environment. In particular, high values ​​may indicate the presence of pollutant sources such as industrial activity or waste disposal. This analysis also provides suggestions regarding the need for further investigation regarding pollutant sources in certain areas, increased control and monitoring of human activities, as well as management measures to maintain the quality of the aquatic environment. The results of this research can be used as a basis for concrete action in maintaining and improving sea water quality around Kalbut Harbor. With a deeper understanding of water quality, management and monitoring measures can be strengthened to maintain a better water environment, especially in areas with high concentrations of organic matter. This analysis provides important information about the condition of the water environment in each region which can be the basis for specific actions to improve sea water quality

Abstract

Sebagai kawasan pesisir pantai dengan beragam aktivitas, karakteristik sedimen di wilayah Pantai Pathek juga memberikan pengaruh terhadap kelangsungan ekosistem di sana. Distribusi ukuran butir yang ada di dalam deposit sedimen, bisa mencerminkan keadaan lingkungannya. Penentuan variasi ukuran partikel-partikel yang ada pada tanah bisa dilakukan melalui Analisis mekanis tanah. penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana distribusi ukuran butir sedimen di pantai Pathek. Manfaat mengetahui distribusi ukuran butir sedimen di Pantai Pathek bisa menjadi landasan dasar untuk penelitian selanjutkan dan bahan kajian untuk memperhatikan faktor erosi atau sedimentasi yang terjadi di sepanjang pantai untuk pengembangan Pantai Panthek di masa depan. Sampel penelitian diambil dari lokasi Pantai Pathek Desa Gelung Kecamatan Panarukan Kabupaten Situbondo. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisa mekanis tanah yaitu analisa ayakan (Sieve Analysis Test). Hasil penelitian memberikan gambaran bahwa sampel tanah yang diambil dari lokasi pengambilan sampel secara garis besar terdiri dari komposisi pasir 92,27% ; lempung dan lanau 7,73%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa tanah termasuk tanah berbutir kasar dan bergaradasi baik berdasarkan nilai Cu = 15,6.

Abstract

Sebagai negara maritim, Indonesia memiliki potensi besar dalam pengelolaan sumber daya pesisir dan laut, baik dari aspek ekonomi maupun ekologi. Namun, ketidakterpaduan dalam pengelolaan serta meningkatnya aktivitas manusia telah menyebabkan degradasi lingkungan pesisir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak kegiatan ekonomi masyarakat terhadap ekosistem pesisir berdasarkan perspektif masyarakat lokal di Situbondo. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei melalui kuesioner online dengan responden yang berdomisili di wilayah pesisir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden berusia produktif dan berpendidikan tinggi, serta terlibat dalam kegiatan ekonomi pesisir, terutama penangkapan ikan. Sebagian besar responden menilai bahwa kegiatan ekonomi memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap keseimbangan ekosistem, dengan penangkapan ikan berlebihan sebagai faktor utama perubahan lingkungan. Sebagai solusi, responden mengusulkan penguatan pengelolaan sumber daya alam dan peran aktif masyarakat. Kawasan Pantai Sedulur Berigheen di Panarukan, Situbondo, memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi kawasan ekowisata berbasis edukasi, khususnya melalui pemanfaatan hutan mangrove sebagai daya tarik wisata.

Abstract

this research to identify fouling organism types that can impact the sustainability of the Lestari marine region. In efforts to preserve the environment and support water resource management, the study aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the dominant fouling organisms in this area and their potential impacts. Through this identification, it is hoped that suitable prevention and mitigation strategies can be developed to maintain the balance of the coastal ecosystem. The method used is sampling in the form of pictures and direct descriptive exploration, while identification of attached biota and mangrove types is carried out using descriptive information. The research results showed that the dominant biota came from bivalves with the type Saccostrea cucullata from the genus Ostreidae. Mangrove species are growing naturally or through replanting efforts in Mayangan Village, Gumukmas District, Jember Regency
