Abstract

Hidrotalsit (HT) telah disintesis dengan menggunakan Al(NO­3)3·9H2O dan Mg(NO­3)2·6H2O pada pH 10±0,5 dengan ratio molar Mg/Al adalah 4:1. Material tersebut dimodifikasi dengan Sodium Dodecylsulfate (SDS) dengan teknik sintesis ex situ dan in situ yang dinyatakan dengan HTDS ex situ  dan HTDS in situ. Hasil karakterisasi FTIR menunjukkan munculnya puncak spektra infrared yang tajam pada 2920, 2851 dan 1065 cm-1 yang menunjukkan adanya gugus metil, metilen dan –OSO3- pada HTDS. Karakterisasi XRD pada HT, HTDS ex situ dan HTDS in situ menunjukkan pola difraktogram yang khas untuk material hidrotalsit. Adsorpsi fenol berlangsung optimum pada pH 3, 5 dan 3 untuk HT, HTDS ex situ dan HTDS in situ. Ketiga adsorben juga mengikuti model kinetika adsorpsi pseudo orde dua dan model isoterm Langmuir. Kapasitas maksimum HT, HTDS ex situ dan HTDS in situ masing-masing adalah 27,55; 17,64 dan 29,94 mg/g.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh waktu aging pada sintesis material mesopori. Material mesopori hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi dengan XRD, FTIR dan fisisorpsi nitrogen. Analisis XRD menunjukkan bahwa variasi waktu aging berpengaruh pada struktur mesopori dari zeolit alam (MZ). Spektrum FTIR menunjukkan adanya silanol dan siloksan pada sampel MZ dan MMZ. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa sampel MZ dan MMZ pada semua variasi waktu aging merupakan material kaya silika. Analisis fisisorpsi nitrogen memberi informasi bahwa penambahan waktu aging menyebabkan diameter pori yang lebih besar dan luas permukaan spesifik yang lebih kecil serta dibandingkan dengan bahan baku (zeolit alam, MZ) karena keterlibatan surfaktan kationik (CTABr) selama sintesis.

Abstract

Chromium(VI) is one of the metals that is harmful to biota and humans if large amount present in environments. One method for reducing metal contamination of Cr(VI) inaqueous is by adsorption using Mg/Al hydrotalcite with molar ratio 2:1. This study is determined the effect of contact time and adsorption models of Cr(VI) adsorption on Mg/Al hydrotalcite with molar ratio 2:1. Capacity of Cr(VI) adsorption on Mg/Al hydrotalciteoccursat the optimum contact time of 180 minutes with 93.81% percent adsorption. Adsorption kinetics model equations are analyzed with first order, second order, pseudo first order, pseudo second order, Elovich equation, the equation Dumwald-Wagner and Weber-Morris equation. Analysis model of adsorption kinetics of Cr(VI) followed pseudo second order models are characterized by the highest coefficient of determination, which is 0.998.Keywords: adsorption, Mg/Al hydrotalcite, Cr(VI), adsorption kinetic models

This research aim to study the initial concentration and adsorption isotherm of Cr(VI) by using Mg/Al hydrotalcite in 180 minutes contact time. The Optimum initial concentration of Cr(VI) was 675 mg/L with 55,57 mg/g adsorption capacity. Isotherm adsorption was studied using Langmuir and Freundlich model. Abstract

One way for improving (of improving atau to improve) the quality of patchouli oil was to reduce the acid number. Acid number could be reduced with the use of natural adsorbents. The decreasing percentage acid number of patchouli oils using adsorbents zeolites, bentonite, rub ash, and activated carbon, respectively 4.71 %; 1.45%; 7,84%; and 4.64%. The contact time could influence the decrease in acid number of patchouli oil. The longer the contact between adsorbent and oil could caused a decrease in acid number. Maximum contact time for rub ash was 15 hours with a maximum adsorption capacity of 14,34% for 0.1 gram adsorbent

Abstract

Mesoporous ZSM-5 has been successfully synthesized at various aging time of 6, 12 and 24 h. Mesoporous ZSM-5 was synthesized using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTABr) as a template. Synthesis was carried out hydrothermally with aging and crystallization temperature at 60oC and 150oC. XRD patterns of the resulted material showed diffraction lines at 2θ = 23o and at small angle (2θ < 5o) which is characteristic of the structure of ZSM-5 and the existing of the mesoporous material. It was found that crystallinity of the sample increased at longer aging time. The result of nitrogen gas sorption analysis showed that all samples have pore size about 3,8 nm. The porosity of ZSM-5 decreased with shorter of aging time. ZSM-5 synthesized at 6 h aging time has the highest porosity of 72.57%. Aging time also affected the particle size, the longer the aging time, the smaller the particle size. The particle size was ranging 1.25 – 1.0 μm.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan pengembangan bahan alam dari zeolit alam, sekam padi dan ampas tebu. Modifikasi bahan alam dilakukan dengan menggunakan cetyltrimethyllammonium bromide (CTAB) sebagai surfaktan kationik untuk templat mesopori. Karakter fisikokimia bahan alam yang termodifikasi dan tanpa modifikasi diselidiki dengan menggunakan XRF, XRD, FTIR, fisisorpsi nitrogen, dan SEM-EDX. Kandungan utama dari bahan alam adalah Silika (Si) yang dibuktikan dari analisis XRF. Analisis XRD menunjukkan bahwa modifikasi dengan penambahan surfaktan dapat menyebabkan penurunan kristalinitas zeolit alam dan ampas tebu, sedangkan kristalinitas sekam padi meningkat. Munculnya pita serapan spesifik pada hasil karakterisasi menggunakan FTIR menunjukkan adanya gugus silanol dan siloksan pada semua material yang membuktikan bahwa semua jenis material alam tersebut merupakan material ekonomis yang kaya akan silika. Sementara itu profil fisisorpsi nitrogen memberikan informasi bahwa modifikasi pori oleh surfaktan hanya berhasil pada ampas tebu. Morfologi bahan alam yang dimodifikasi dan tidak dimodifikasi serta komposisi kimia dari partikel ditunjukkan oleh SEM-EDX.

Abstract

Aluminium chloride immobilized on mesoporous aluminosilicate was investigated as catalysts in the condensation of isatin with indole. AlCl3/mesoporous aluminosilicate (AlCl3/AM) catalysts were prepared by impregnation of 1, 5, 10 and 15 wt% AlCl3 on the surface of mesoporous aluminosilicate. A maximum conversion of isatin was achieved using 15% AlCl3/AM catalyst whereas the highest selectivity of 68.97% towards trisindoline was obtained using pure AM. The activity of the catalysts was depended on their acid site number and surface area. The number of Brønsted acid and the surface area affected to the conversion of isatin while the total acidity and the number of Lewis acid influenced the selectivity.
