Abstract

In 2045, Indonesia hopes that it has achieved its goals, the welfare of the people is more advanced, developed, and excelled in various fields, one of which is education. STEM is a learning approach that incorporates four areas of expertise, namely science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, in problem-solving-based activities. STEM-based learning expects to be a solution to facilitate mathematical problem-solving skills in the New Normal era towards golden Indonesia 2045. This study analyzes mathematical problem-solving skills by implementing STEM-based learning in the New Normal era towards the golden Indonesia 2045. The method used is descriptive. The source of research data is secondary data. It was collecting data using a literature study. The research study stated that percentage of students' mathematical solving ability achievement increased after using STEM-based learning. It is appropriate to apply in the New Normal era. Students could solve problems in adapting to their lives which is one of the preparations for facing the golden age of 2045.  This study concludes that STEM-based learning can improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials consisting of a lesson plan and module with the Bridging Analogy Approach for subject matter Relations and Functions. Bridging Analogy is an approach that connects new concepts with analogous real-life problems for the student to a new concept in math by looking for the similarity between the analogy and the new concept. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), consisting of Define, Design, and Develop and for the disseminate can't be implemented because of pandemic covid-19. The expert and student judged the teaching material. The expert who asses the teaching material consists of 3 lectures from the Math Department and two Junior High School practitioners. The score for the teaching material with Bridging Analogy by the expert is 93.83%, which means the lesson plan is "worthy," and the score for the module is 91.26%, which means the module is "worthy." Thus the module was assessed by the student from SMPN 178 Jakarta to know the teaching material's effectiveness and clarity. The response score from students about the module is 93.62%, meaning the module is "worthy." The conclusion is teaching material: lesson plan and module in this study can be implemented for teaching and learning relations and functions at Junior High School.

Abstract

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for adaptive learning models, especially in mathematics education. This study aims to analyze publications on the Flipped Classroom model in post-pandemic mathematics education (2021–May 2023) and to explore its future development.  The method used is a systematic literature review of 10 articles, consisting of two Scopus-indexed articles and eight articles from Google Scholar obtained using the Publish or Perish application. The total number of participants involved in the reviewed studies is 1,200, comprising 370 elementary school students, 208 junior high school students, 179 senior high school students, and 417 university students. The findings indicate that the digital-based Flipped Classroom model can enhance mathematical communication skills, critical thinking, conceptual understanding, problem-solving abilities, and higher-order thinking. Moreover, it positively influences students' self-confidence, creates a more interactive classroom environment, generates positive learning responses, and supports social interaction in online settings. These results suggest that the Flipped Classroom is an effective instructional model and is recommended for mathematics learning in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

AbstractEach student has a different mathematical thinking process in solving mathematical problems. This study aims to assess the mathematical thinking process of students in solving statistical problems. The subjects of the study were taken by purposive sampling. The subject of the study was 6 students of Islamic Religious Education student who took the fifth semester with high, medium, and low abilities. The instrument used is a ters sheet on statistical material. Data collection techniques through statistical question tests on research data sampling sub-materials. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. The analysis was conducted through answer sheets of each study subject looking at thought processes based on steps in Bransford and Stein's approach. The results showed that  high-ability students tend to have conceptual mathematical thinking processes, moderately capable students tend to have mathematical thinking process abilities in semiconceptual groups, while low-ability students tend to have competitive mathematical thinking processes.
