Abstract

The research aimed to see whether SAVI learning approach is better than a normal class in improving students’ critical mathematical thinking skills due to number theory lectures of mathematics. This research used a quantitative research approach with experimental method in the form of quasi-experiment. The population of this research was all the fourth semester of mathematics department students of Malikussaleh University. The sampling used was a purposive sampling that consisted of students in class A1 and A2. The research design used a non –equivalent control group design. The instrument used in this research was a set of questionnaire of critical thinking that had been validated by several validators. Then, the analysis of the improvement score of students’ critical mathematical skills used a normalized gain data which shows the improvement of students’ score classification compared to the ideal maximum score. However, the n-gain score data of students’ critical mathematical skills of control class was not normally distributed. so a non-parametric test was conducted, namely the Mann Whitney U Test. Form Test results, the Asymp. Sig. (1-tailed) value was obtined around 0.008 < α = 0,05. This shows that H0 is rejected.Hence, it means that the improvement of students’ critical mathematical skills of experimental class is significantly better than a control class. Thus, it is also proven by the hypothesis that applying SAVI approach in learning is better than a normal class without any treatment in improving students’ critical mathematical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical critical thinking abilities through problem solving methods. This study was hold at MAN 3 Bireuen (High School Level) in the 2019/2020 school’s year. The research method was a quasi-experimental study design nonrandomized Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. The population of the study were all students of Class XI MAN 3 Bireuen with purposive sampling technique. The study sample was to 30 students for the experimental class and 28 students for the control class. The skill increasing was calculated using normalized gain. Data were analyzed using the t test. The results showed that students’ critical thinking skills mathematically taught through problem solving methods is better than students mathematical critical thinking skills taught through conventional learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether online learning assisted with video conferencing affects students' mathematical problem solving abilities during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a quasi experimental research type with a quantitative approach and a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of mathematics education at the University of Malikussaleh semester III and the sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Data collection techniques are tests of mathematical problem solving abilities that have been tested and analyzed. The data analysis technique used is using the t test with terms of normality and homogeneity. The result of the research obtained is that there is an effect of online learning assisted by video conferencing on students' mathematical problem solving abilities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analize the improving of mathematical communication skills’s students, the learning acktivities of student and student’s response at Realistic Mathematics (RME) learning.  The research is held at MTs.S Syamsudduha in 2018-2019 years, which using quasi experiment with a quantitative approach. This study used two samples, they are experiment’s class as treatment class consists of 34 students and control’s class which  not give the treatment consists of 36 students which the sample was taken in this research used the technique sampling purposive. This data was obtained with test technique and observation sheet. Data is analyzed with t test using SPSS 18, the result show that there is an increasing of mathematical communication skills of student on statistical study with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning. This shows that value of n-gain on student’s mathematical communication skill for experiment’s class is 0,49 and control’s class is 0,17 with significant 0,000 < 0,05, thats mean there is an increasing in the learning process. So, RME learning can improve student’s mathematical communication skills of  students better than students who is taught by conventional learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students using a constructivism approach assisted by animated videos on the comparison material of class VII MTsS Jabal Nur. The approach used in this research is a quantitative research approach with a quasi-experimental type of approach. The population in this study were all students of class VII consisting of 10 classes and the sample used was class VII-5 as the experimental class as many as 25 students and class VII-6 as the control class as many as 26 students. The experimental class students were taught using a constructivism approach assisted by animated videos, while the control class was taught using a scientific approach. The data was collected by giving a pretest-posttest and the data were analyzed using the t-test and obtained a result of 0.00. In accordance with the test criteria, the value in the sig column < 0.05 then is rejected. From the statistical significance of the t-test is 0.00 less than 0.05. Then is rejected, H_a is accepted. The results of the analysis of student responses to constructivism approach learning assisted by animated videos show that the overall average is in the very good category. This shows students that using a constructivism approach assisted by animated videos gets a positive response from students. The learning process using this approach can improve students ‘abilities in learning mathematics and can increase students’ desire to learn and student activity.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengembangan Learning Management System (LMS)  berbasis Moodle dilihat dari segi kevalidan, kemenarikan dan kepraktisan sehingga dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif pembelajaran daring dimasa pandemi Covid-19 di SMA N 2 Lhokseumawe.  Jenis penelitian yang digunakan research and development (R&D), dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yaitu: Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 25 orang guru dan 25 orang siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kevalidan LMS menunjukkan sangat valid dengan hasil persentase oleh ahli media sebesar 90,63% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”, ahli materi sebesar 83,33% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”, dan oleh ahli bahasa sebesar 86,66% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”. Selanjutnya hasil kepraktisan LMS diperoleh persentase sebesar 84,42% dengan kategori “Sangat Praktis” dan dari segi kemenarikan LMS diperoleh sebesar 80,03% dengan kategori “sangat menarik”. Dengan demikian hasil penilaian produk oleh semua validator yang menyatakan sangat valid, penilaian guru yang menyatakan sangat praktis, dan penilaian siswa sangat menarik maka LMS berbasis Moodle yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kriteria sangat layak menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk pembelajaran daring di SMA N 2 Lhokseumawe.   Abstract The purpose of this study to find out how developing Learning Management System (LMS) using Moodle approach based on validity, attractiveness and practicality, which can be an alternative to online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic) at SMA N 2 Lhokseumawe. The research method used is research and development (R&D), with the ADDIE development model which is: Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate. The research subjects consisted of 25 teachers and 25 students at SMA Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe. The results showed the percentage validity results of the LMS using moodle approach product by media experts were 90,63%  in the "very valid" category, material experts were 83,33% in the "very valid" category, and by linguists of 86,66% with the category "very valid". Furthermore, the results of practicality is 84,42% in the "very practical" category and attractiveness by 80,03% in the "very interesting" category. The results of the product assessment by all validators who stated that they were very valid, the teacher's assessment which stated that it was very practically, and the student assessment was very interesting, so the LMS using moodle developed already very suitable for online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMA N 2 Lhokseumawe.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to improve digital literacy competencies and optimize the ability of teachers to use e-learning media in the implementation of  Distance Learning (PJJ). The training materials are tailored to the needs of teachers as participants to overcome digital literacy problems that exist in schools. The method of implementation is carried out by the lecture method to deliver digital literacy competency material, training methods to provide direct experience in using e-learning applications, and dialogical methods. To measure the increase in participants' knowledge and understanding in this activity, questionnaires were given before and after training. The questionnaire contains tests for testing knowledge and understanding of digital literacy and the use of e-learning applications. Participants in this activity were all teachers of SMPN 2 Dewantara, North Aceh. This activity provides significant benefits of improving understanding of teachers' digital literacy competencies and skills in using e-learning applications that can be used in implementing Distance Learning.

Abstract

The research is a quasi-experimental research and used nonrandomized control group, pretest-posttest design, aiming to analyze the differences of the improvement of mathematical communication abilities between the students receiving scientific learning using cognitive conflict strategy (PSSKK) and the students receiving scientific learning (PS). It was observed in general and based on each mathematical prior student’s ability (MPA) in high, medium, and low level. The subject of the research is the 8th grade students in Junior High School 1 Lembang, West Bandung, which two classes are selected as a sample from available ten classes. The results showed that: (1) Generally, the students’s improvement of mathematical communication abilities in PSSKK is better than students in PS; and (2) based on MPA obtained that: (a) the students’s improvement of mathematical communication with high MPA in PSSKK and in PS is not significantly different; (b) the students’s improvement of mathematical communication with medium and low MPA in PSSKK is better than in PS. Abstrak Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretes-postes kelompok kontrol tidak acak (nonrandomized control group, pretest-posttest design) yang bertujuan untuk menelaah perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran saintifik strategi konflik kognitif (PSSKK) dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran saintifik (PS) baik secara keseluruhan maupun ditinjau dari masing-masing kemampuan awal matematis (KAM) siswa (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Lembang Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dengan sampel dipilih dua kelas dari sepuluh kelas yang tersedia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) secara keseluruhan, peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas PSSKK lebih baik daripada siswa kelas PS; dan (2) berdasarkan KAM diperoleh: (a) peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelompok KAM tinggi kelas PSSKK dengan kelas PS tidak berbeda secara signifikan; (b) peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelompok KAM sedang dan rendah kelas PSSKK lebih baik daripada siswa kelas PS. Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan kreativitas guru-guru SMP di Aceh Utara dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran matematika melalui pembuatan soal-soal berbasis HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terdiri dari (1) Pengenalan soal HOTS sebagai Alat Evaluasi, (2) Mendesain Soal Hots, (3) Praktik pembuatan soal HOTS pada materi Aljabar, Statistika, dan Geometri. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode ceramah, dialogis, dan pelatihan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan bermanfaat bagi guru-guru SMP di Aceh Utara dan berdampak pada terjadinya peningkatan kompetensi, kreativitas, dan professional guru-guru SMP di Aceh Utara. Dari hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, diperoleh hasil bahwa: (1) Bertambahnya wawasan guru-guru SMP di Aceh Utara tentang pembuatan soal-soal matematika berbasis HOTS, (2) Meningkatnya pemahaman guru-guruSMP di Aceh Utara dalam memecahkan masalah matematis yang menuntut berpikir tingkat tinggi, (3) Meningkatnya kreativitas guru-guru SMP di Aceh Utara dalam membuat perencanaan pembelajaran matematis yang berbasis HOTS.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pendekatan pembelajaran scientific. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain Non-equivalen Control Group Design. Populasi yang diambil pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 7 Lhokseumawe dan sampel terdiri atas kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan intrumen tes dan non tes (angket respon siswa). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa hasil skor rataan N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan Model TPS 0,82 (Tinggi) lebih tinggi dari pada rataan N-Gain pada kelas kontrol yang menerapkan pendekatan scientific 0,77 (Tinggi). Berdasarkan hasil uji Indenpendent sampel t Test sampel posttest didapatkan 0,471 yang dimana sig ≥ 0,05 diterima artinya tidak terdapat pengaruh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model TPSdengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran scientific. Analisis data uji t N-Gain menggunakan uji Indenpendent sampel t Test dengan hasil 0,224 yang dimana sig ≥ 0,05 yang artinya peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model TPS sama secara signifkan dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran scientific.Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa, Think Pair Share (TPS), Pendekatan Scientific
