Abstract

Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan dalam rangka meningkatkan keterampilan Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 6 SDN Bunul Rejo 6 Kota Malang melalui metode pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan lagu dan cerita rakyat Indonesia yang diterjemahkan kedalam Bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan PKM ini berbasis tindakan kelas yang dilakukan pada 20 siswa SD kelas 6. Hasil pre-test kegiatan PKM ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan kosa kata siswa sangat rendah dengan nilai rata-rata 59.5. Sedangkan, hasil post-test siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 78.75. Ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan kosa kata siswa meningkat secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan pencapaian mereka di test awal. Hasil kegiatan PKM ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis lagu dan cerita rakyat dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa Inggris siswa. Oleh karena itu, tim PKM merekomendasikan bahwa guru harus mempertimbangkan penggunaan kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis lagu dan cerita rakyat untuk mengembangkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris siswanya.

Abstract

Academic writing plays a fundamental role in both school and university settings, serving as a primary means of communication and assessment across disciplines. This research employed a qualitative approach to investigate the challenges encountered by ESP students, particularly economics students in composing English academic essays. This research was conducted in East Java, Indonesia. The qualitative component involved the documentation, semi-structured interview, and analysis of students' English essays to ascertain these obstacles and semi structured interview. There are 10 second-semester students selected as participants of this study enrolled in the Management Study Program from one private university in East Java, Indonesia during the academic year 2023/2024. The analysis of students' essay writing problems reveals several key areas of concern. These include issues with organization (writing format), task completion, originality, content and discourse, and writing mechanics. ESP students often face challenges in academic essay writing due to gaps in specialized vocabulary, grammar, and unfamiliarity with academic conventions, exacerbated by limited practice and insufficient feedback. To address these issues, educator should provide targeted language support, integrate writing-intensive courses, offer detailed feedback, and establish accessible writing resources.

Abstract

This study embarked on fostering grammar learning outcomes of tenth-grade students at MAN Kota Blitar and handling classroom technological inclusivity by integrating Quizizz paper mode as a pedagogical tool in teaching Simple Past and Present Perfect Tenses. This study utilized four stages of classroom action research, encompassing planning, implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The researchers used pre-tests, post-tests, and questionnaires for collecting the data. The outcomes unveiled a substantial improvement in students' grammatical learning outcomes, from 66.50 in the pre-test to 89.50 in the post-test. Further, students displayed favorable reactions, affirming the power of Quizizz paper mode in addressing challenges in grammar learning due to its engaging nature, cost-effectiveness, and provision of real-time feedback. Additionally, it fosters inclusivity by allowing every student to participate, irrespective of their access to technology. Moreover, it offers students a chance to rest their eyes and electronic devices while combining physical and digital learning experiences. The findings of this study suggest that integrating technology-based platforms like Quizizz in paper mode can enhance grammar mastery by promoting increased engagement and interactivity among students. Based on those results, it is recommended that future researchers explore Quizizz paper mode for teaching various grammar topics or language skills studies by applying larger sample sizes and examining the prolonged effects of utilizing Quizizz paper mode on students' mastery of grammar or other English sub-skills.

Abstract

In Indonesia, English teachers and lecturers have to pass specific number of TOEFL score as a passing card to carry out teaching activity. Yet, there is no further observation from researchers or government about how much the English teachers’ proficiency affects the classroom instruction capability. Hence, this research is worth pursuing to reveal information for teachers’ professional development. This study is a case study that aims to gather information about the relation between English teachers’ proficiency and teaching skills. The data were obtained from semi-structured interview and class observation. To analyse the data, the researchers coded the data manually to eliminate errors. There are two English lecturers from one private University in Malang, East Java, Indonesia as the participants of this study. They were selected purposefully based on their level of general proficiency in English. This study revealed that high level of English proficiency alone cannot be a single indicator for conducting effective English teaching and learning process. Teachers need to obtain both high level of language proficiency and own pedagogical skills to provide optimised learning and teaching environment. This research is seen as a fundamental framework for teachers to improve their English teaching perseverance.

Abstract

Pegawai aparatur sipil negara (ASN) mempunyai tugas dan peran penting dalam pelaksanaan fungsi pemerintahan dan pembangunan fungsional, pegawai dapat dikatakan memiliki kinerja yang baik jika pegawai tersebut mampu dan berhasil dalam melaksanakan pekerjaannya sesuai dengan standar yang berlaku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh disiplin kerja dan kompetensi kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai pada kantor Kementerian Agama kota Pasuruan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode non-probability. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui metode purposive sampling dengan sejumlah 36 pegawai. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa disiplin kerja dan kompetensi kerja secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai dengan taraf signifikan 0,000 < 0,05. Sama halnya dengan uji parsial untuk variabel disiplin kerja dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,004 < 0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa disiplin kerja berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai dan kompetensi kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai dengan taraf signifikan 0,000 > 0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi kerja berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai. Sedangkan besarnya hubungan Disiplin Kerja dan Kompetensi Kerja terhadap Kinerja Pegawai diperoleh nilai R 2 sebesar 69,8%. Dari pembahasan tersebut menyimpulkan semakin tingginya disiplin kerja dan kompetensi kerja yang dimiliki oleh pegawai, maka akan meningkatkan kinerjanya sehingga sangat berpengaruh terhadap berkembangnya suatu instansi.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh Travel Maharani Trans adalah kualitas fasilitas. Disiplin kerja yang masih mendapat masalah terkait jam keterlambatan karyawan masih datang terlambat. Tujuan penelitian untuk menyelidiki apakah terdapat hubungan fasilitas, disiplin kerja dan kualitas pelayanan terhadap kepuasan pelanggan jasa Travel Maharani Trans. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Fasilitas, disiplin kerja berpengaruh secara simultan dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan pelanggan pada Travel Maharani Trans. Hasil dari uji F menunjukkan bahwa nilai F hitung 74.132 > F tabel 3.15 dan tingkat signifikansi 0.000 < 0.05, maka fasilitas, disiplin kerja, dan kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh secara simultan dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan pelanggan pada Travel Maharani Trans. Hasil uji koefisien determinasi, nilai Adjusted R Square sebesar 0.789. Hal ini berarti 78,9% variasi kepuasan pelanggan dapat dijelaskan oleh variasi dari ketiga variabel independen, yaitu fasilitas, disiplin kerja, dan kualitas pelayanan. Variabel fasilitas berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap variabel kepuasan pelanggan. Hasil tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai t hitung 2.889 > t tabel 2.00 dan sig 0.000 < 0.05. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa variabel fasilitas berpengaruh terhadap variabel kepuasan pelanggan. Variabel disiplin kerja berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap variabel kepuasan pelanggan. Hasil tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai t hitung 2.122 > t tabel 2.00 dan sig 0.000 < 0.05. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa variabel disiplin kerja berpengaruh terhadap variabel kepuasan pelanggan. Variabel kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap variabel kepuasan pelanggan. Hasil tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai t hitung 7.778 > t tabel 2.00 dan sig 0.000 < 0.05. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa variabel kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh terhadap variabel kepuasan pelanggan.

Abstract

Banyaknya marketplace yang bermunculan, tentunya menimbulkan persaingan sehingga marketplace Shopee perlu melakukan strategi untuk menghadapipersaingan. Faktor-faktor yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalammembentuk strategi adalah harga dan kualitas pelayanan, selain itu keterlibatan online customer review dalammembentuk kepercayaan konsumen juga peru diperhatikandalam Menyusun strategi untuk mempertahankan eksistensimarketplace Shopee. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmenganalisis Pengaruh Harga dan Kualitas PelayananTerhadap Keputusan Pembelian Pengguna Shopee MelaluiOnline Customer Review Sebagai Variabel Moderating di Kota Pasuruan mengunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan populasi konsumen produk pada marketplace Shopee di Kota Pasuruan. Teknik penentuan sampel menggunakan teknikpurposive sampling, yakni berdasarkan kriteria yang telahditetapkan oleh peneliti sehingga terdapat 85 respondensebagai sampel lalu menggunakan teknik analisis data yaituanalisis regresi linier berganda dan analisis regresi moderasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa harga dan kualitaspelayanan secara simultan dan parsial berpengaruh positifdan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian. Harga produkyang ditawarkan marketpace Shopee mampu menarik minatkonsumen di kota Pasuruan untuk membeli produk pada makeplace Shopee. Kualitas pelayanan pada marketpaceShopee mampu mendorong kepercayaan konsumen di kota Pasuruan untuk membeli produk pada maketplace Shopee. Online customer review memoderasi pengaruh hargaterhadap keputusan pembelian, namun tidak memoderasipengaruh kualitas pelayanan terhadap keputusan pembelian.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of digital technologies in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) education, providing a comprehensive overview of current practices and their pedagogical implications. With the increasing reliance on technology in modern education, this study examines how digital tools, ranging from Learning Management Systems (LMS) and online collaboration platforms to specialized language learning apps are being incorporated into ESP courses. The paper discusses the benefits of using technology to tailor language instruction to the specific needs of learners in various professional and academic fields, especially in the field of economic. It also highlights challenges faced by ESP instructors, including the need for digital literacy, appropriate resource selection, and training in integrating technology effectively into curricula. Additionally, the article addresses the role of technology in fostering learner engagement, enhancing access to authentic materials, and providing individualized learning experiences. Drawing on recent research and case studies, the paper offers practical recommendations for ESP educators, suggesting strategies for overcoming barriers to technology adoption and optimizing its use in the classroom. The article concludes by considering future trends in digital technology and their potential impact on the evolution of ESP pedagogy.

Abstract

The student's ability to understand and use academic and research vocabulary was lacking. Therefore, this research tries to enhance the students' vocabulary achievement by applying Memrise and Quizlet Applications. This research applies Classroom Action Research using four procedures: Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. Researchers obtained data from tests and questionnaires. The results showed that vocabulary planting through the Memrise and Quizlet applications increased student achievement. In addition, students also showed a positive attitude towards the application of Memrise and Quizlet for vocabulary learning. Lecturers or teachers can use the Memrise and Quizlet Applications as a medium to motivate students and provide fun and independent learning. Vocabulary achievement improved after learning vocabulary using Memrise and Quizlet applications from the results presented above. This study also used the Memrise and Quizlet applications to instil vocabulary. Therefore, the researcher suggests that teachers or lecturers who teach use the Memrise and Quizlet applications as alternative media to instil word material in students in the long term.

Abstract

Pencapaian target produksi pada CV Nugroho Berkah Feed Kabupaten Pasuruan mengalami penurunan setiap tahunnya dikarenakan kinerja karyawan yang dapat dikategorikan kurang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompensasi dan disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan secara parsial maupun simultan. Populasi penelitian adalah karyawan produksi. Menggunakan sampel jenuh yang berjumlah 50 karyawan produksi. Analisis menggunakan uji instrumen penelitian, analisis deskriptif, uji asumsi klasik dan pengujian hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian, didapatkan nilai R Square sebesar 71,2% berarti kinerja karyawan dapat dijelaskan sebesar 71,2% oleh kompensasi dan disiplin kerja. Kompensasi dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan secara simultan dengan nilai Fhitung sebesar 58,227 dan nilai Ftabel sebesar 3,20 serta nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa Ha1 diterima. Hasil uji pengujian hipotesis kompensasi (X1) menyatakan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 < 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa Ha2 diterima. Hasil uji pengujian hipotesis disiplin kerja (X2) menyatakan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa Ha3 diterima.
