Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh modal sosial peternak terhadap pengembangan badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) unit usaha ternak sapi di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur dan menyusun serangkaian strategi pengembangan BUMDes unit usaha ternak sapi berdasarkan modal sosial peternak di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur.Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode survey,dengan teknik penarikan sampel pada penelitian ini ialah Cluster Random Sampling. Selain itu untuk ukuran sampel dalam penelitian ini ditentukan dengan menggunakan metoda iterati. Metodeanalisis yang digunakan analisis adalahRegresi Berganda StepWise, analisis SWOT dan analisis QSPM. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa  pengembangan BUMDes unit usaha ternak sapi di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur dipengaruhi oleh modal sosial berupa kepercayaan dan jaringan sosial.Strategi pengembangan BUMDes unit usaha ternak sapi di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur adalah penguatan kapasitas modal sosial dengan peningkatan kepercayaan masyarakat pengelolaan BUMDes yang transparan, akuntabel, dan berlandaskan nilai-nilai kejujuran.Kata Kunci: Strategi Pengembangan; Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes); dan Modal Sosial ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze the effect of farmer's social capital on the development of Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) cattle business units in East TanjungJabung Regency and develop a series of strategies for developing BUMDes cattle business units based on farmer's social capital in East TanjungJabung Regency. The research method used in this study is a survey method, with the sampling technique used in this study is Cluster Random Sampling. In addition, the sample size in this study was determined using the iterative method. The analytical method used in the analysis is StepWise Multiple Regression, SWOT analysis and QSPM analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the development of BUMDes cattle business units in TanjungJabungTimur Regency is influenced by social capital in the form of trust and social networks. The strategy for developing the BUMDes cattle business unit in TanjungJabungTimur Regency is to strengthen the capacity of social capital by increasing public trust in the management of BUMDes that is transparent, accountable, and based on the values of honesty.Keywords: Development Strategy; Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes); and Social Capital

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the fertility of swamp buffalo synchronized by prostaglandin administration prior to both natural mating and artificial inse-mination (AI). Thirty six swamp buffalo cows were intramuscularly injected by 35 mg prostaglandin (Lutalyse®, Pfizer, Puurs, Belgium) twice in eleven consecutive days. The buffaloes that exhibit estrous signs allotted into 2 treatments i.e. T1 (natural mating) and T2 (AI). Next to second prostaglandin injection, T1 cows were caged together with bull at 72 h for 2 d, and T2 cows were artificially inseminated at 72 h and 96 h. All cows were observed for next estrous emergence determining non return status. Pregnancy was examined 60 days after insemination by recto-vaginal palpation. The variables measured were non return rate (NRR) and concep-tion rate (CR), analyzed statistically using chi-square test. The results showed that NRR and CR of T1 and T2 had no significant difference. The NRR of T1 and T2 were 88.9% and 83.3% respectively, CR were 72.2% (T1) and 55.6% (T2). In conclusion, natural mating and AI give equal fertility to estrous synchronized swamp buffalo.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of storage at room temperature on the durability of the acrosome cap and plasma membrane of Bali cattle spermatozoa. This research was conducted at the Reproduction Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Jambi University. The experiment was carried out using a completely randomized design  with 4 treatments and 6 replications. Storage treatment at room temperature consisted of T0: no storage (control),T1: storage for 2 hours, T2: storage for 4 hours, T3: storage for 6 hours. The data obtained from each variable analyzed with variance. The treatment had a significant effect, so Duncan's further test was carried out. The process of calculating the data using the SPSS program. From the results of this study, it was found that storage of spermatozoa at room temperature reduced the quality of Bali cattle's spermatozoa against the acrosome hood, plasma membrane, and spermatozoa recovery rate (P<0.05). At storage for up to 4 hours, both 44,33% acrosomal cap and 52.83% recovery rate were still eligible for insemination. In plasma membrane storage at room temperature ranging from 0 hours 56.60% to 6 hours 35.83% showed a fairly low average, which was below 60% as the minimum requirement for insemination

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various thawing temperatures to the sperm quality of FH dairy cow frozen semen. The experimental design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications . The thawing treatments were  30 seconds at 33 0C (P1), 35 0C (P2), 37 0C (P3), 39 0C (P4), 41 0C (P5) . Observed variables were sperm motility, viability and recovery rate . Data were analyzed using analysis of variance . The results showed that different thawing temperatures affect the motility , viability, recovery rate of frozen spermatozoa (P<0.05). Motility and  recovery rate of P4 was higher (P< 0.05)  than P2 , P1 and P5  , but did not differ (P>0.05) with P3 . Viability of P4  was higher (P>0.05)  than P1 and P5  but did not differ (P>0.05) with P2 and P3.  In conclusion , thawing at 39 0c and 37 0C for 30 seconds had best semen quality of FH frozen semen.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama penyimpanan semen beku dalam es terhadap motilitas spermatozoa kerbau lumpur. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang dilakukan meliputi: semen beku yang dithawing langsung dari nitrogen air (P0), penyimpanan dalam es selama 15 menit (P1), penyimpanan dalam es selama 30 menit (P2), penyimpanan dalam es selama 45 menit (P3), penyimpanan dalam es selama 60 menit (P4).. Peubah yang diamati adalah motilitas spermatozoa dan recovery rate. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyimpanan semen beku dalam es mempengaruhi motilitas dan recovery rate spermatozoa kerbau lumpur (P<0,05). Motilitas, dan recovery rate P0 lebih tinggi dibandingkan P1, P2, P3, dan P4 (P<0,05). Motilitas P0, P1, dan P2 masih diatas 40%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyimpanan semen beku dalam es menurunkan kualitas spermatozoa kerbau, semen beku kerbau dapat disimpan selama 30 menit dalam es sebelum dithawing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek bangsa sapi pejantan terhadap tingkat keberhasilan IB berupa Service per conseption (S/C) atau pelayanan IB per kebuntingan, Conseption rate (CR) atau angka kebuntingan dan Rasio sex pedet di Kecamatan Pemayung. Materi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah recording inseminasi buatan (IB) Sapi tahun 2018 dan tahun 2019 yang berasal dari sistem Informasi Kesehatan Hewan Indonesia (iSIKHNAS), kemudian kuisioner untuk para peternak. Parameter yang diamati berupa Service per conseption (S/C) atau pelayanan IB per kebuntingan, Conseption rate (CR) atau angka kebuntingan dan Rasio sex pedet. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji-T dan Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bangsa pejantan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap Service per conseption (S/C) dengan nilai 1,69 2,31, nilai Conseption rate (CR) yang diperoleh bervariasi yaitu berkisar dari (20 - 50%) dan Rasio sex pedet berkisar 0 - 62,5%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa bangsa pejantan tidak mempengaruhi nilai S/C, CR dan Rasio Sex pedet.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh terhadap penyimpanan pada suhu 5oC selama 3 hari mampu memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap motilitas, persentase hidup (viabilitas) dan abnormalitas semen sapi Simmental. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0= tanpa penyimpanan (kontrol), P1= penyimpanan selama 24 jam, P2= penyimpanan selama 48 jam dan P3= penyimpanan selama 72 jam. Peubah yang diamati adalah viabilitas, motilitas dan abnormalitas. Analisis data menggunakan analisis sidik ragam, dengan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyimpanan pada suhu 5C memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap nilai motilitas dan viabilitas, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap abnormalitas semen sapi Simmental. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa lama penyimpanan yang dapat mempertahankan motilitas spermatozoa dan persentase hidup semen (viabilitas) sapi Simmental suhu 5ºC adalah 24jam.

Abstract

The research was conducted to find out the effect of Aloe vera gel administrated orally onreproductive performance of female rats. Fifteen two months old female rats were alloted to fivetreatments of per oral Aloe vera gel administration: P0 (control), P1(1 mg /g body weight), P2 (2 mg/gbody weight, P3 (3 mg/g body weight), and P4 ( 4 mg/g body weight). The gel were administrated everyday for four weeks. The body weight were measured on the same day as last treatment. The animal thenmated to proven male on 1:1 rasio. Positively mated animals were sacrificed on D-10 after mating tocollect uterus and ovary so the number of fetus, corpus luteum, and ovary weight can be determined. Thetreatments significantly decreased (P0.05) the average body weight gain. The P0 (4.1 g/head/day) wasdifferent to P1 (2.69 g/head/day), P2 (2.87 g/head/day, and P4 (2.68 g/head/day), but was not different toP3 (3.39 g/head/day). The ovarium weight were not different (P0.05) among the treatments, so did thenumber of corpus luteum (CL), the number of fetuses and the CL: fetus rasio.Keywords: Aloe vera, rats, reproductive performance .

Abstract

Purpose: This activity is intended to introduce coffee processing techniques into coffee candy by way of counseling, training and mentoring to the coffee farmer groups in Sungai Penuh City, Jambi. Methodology: The stages of this activity include counseling, training, production demonstrations, and business assistance. Coffee candy is made by boiling a mixture of coffee extract, sucrose and glucose at a ratio of 13:8:6 until it boils. After the mixture thickens, reduce the stove heat until the temperature of the mixture is no more than 1100C. After crystallization is complete, the mixture is put into the mold, cooled, then the coffee candy is removed from the mold, wrapped in plastic and packaged. Result: Counseling, training, mentoring, and technical guidance on how to process ground coffee into coffee candy have succeeded in creating a new source of income for the people of Sungai Ning Village, Sungai Bungkal District, Sungai Penuh City, Jambi. Conclusion: Through this activity, the village community has been able to apply coffee candy manufacturing technology as an effort to diversify their processed coffee products, coffee candy has now become their mainstay commodity, and several assisted farmer groups have now started producing coffee candy and marketing their products at every opportunity.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the morphometry comparison of spermatozoa of simental cattle and ongole cattle such as head length, head width, head area, middle piece length, tail length and overall body length. This research was carried out at the UPTD Laboratory of the Livestock Breeding Center, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry Food Crops Service, Jambi Province. This methodology uses exploration and observation of spermatozoa, using a microscope with a magnification of 400 times. The samples measured were 480 spermatozoa, taken from frozen semen randomly at the Department of Horticultural Food Crops and Livestock, Jambi Province, then smear preparations were made with eosin dye. The variables observed were head length (PK), head width (LK), head area (LKP), middle piece length (PMD), tail length (PE) and overall body length (PTK). The research results showed that the morphometry of simental cattle spermatozoa PK (9.46 µm), LK (5.11 µm), LKP (41.96 µm), MD (13.77 µm), PE (47.68 µm) and PTK ( 70.92 µm). Meanwhile, the size of the spermatozoa of Ongole cattle PK (9.48 µm), LK (5.17 µm), LKP (42.57 µm), MD (13.83 µm), PE (47.96 µm) and PTK (71.28 µm); The statistical results obtained were not significantly different in the morphology of the two cow spermatozoa. The relationship between PTK parameters of simental cattle spermatozoa and PE was very significant (r=0.870) and likewise for Ongole Cow Spermatozoa, the relationship between PTK and PE was very significant (r=0.953). This situation shows that there is a very close relationship between body length and tail length. The percentage of X chromosome simental cattle spermatozoa was (44.38%) and Y chromosome spermatozoa was (55.62%), while the percentage of X chromosome Ongole cattle spermatozoa was (45.83) and Y chromosome carrying spermatozoa was (54.17).
