Abstract

The method of memorizing the Qur’an is one of model that can be used to be developed in finding the right pattern for memorizing and help the memorizer in overcoming difficulties during the process of memorizing Qur’an. The one day five verse method used by Al-aqobah 4 Jombang islamic boarding school is a method modified by the foundation’s caregivers to make it easer for students to memorize the Qur’an. The focus of the researh in this paper is the implementation of one day five verse method and its implications for the ability to memorize students at the Al-aqobah 4 islamic boarding school Jombang. The aims of this study are : 1) to determine and analyze the implementation of the one day five verse method at the Al-aqobah 4 islamic boarding school Jombang. 2) to find out and analyze the implications of the one day five verse method in improving the memorizing ability of student at Al-aqobah 4 islamic boarding school Jombang. This research use a case study approach, and qualitative reseach. Methods of data collection using interview, observations, and documentation. Data analysis used the mathew miles and michael hubermen model, namely data reduction in presenting data and drawing conclusions (verification).The result of the one day five verse methode improving the memorizing ability of student at Al-aqobah 4 Jombang islamic boarding school, implementation of the one day five verse method at Al-aqobah 4 islamic boarding school Jombang, based on the result of the study indicate that the implementation has gone very well. This is evidenced, a) Before students memorize, student correct their reading first. b) Al-aqobah 4 islamic boarding school Jombang applies a clear memorization target because it is structured. c) the one day five verse method repeats the verse. d) evalution of memorization conducted by Al-aqobah 4 islamic boarding school Jombang by looking at the ability of student. The impilication of the one day five verse method in improving students memorization skills that memorization is more structured, so the target of memorization skills that memorization is more structured, so the target of memorization of memorization can be achieved. a) the one day five verse method makes it easier for student to memorization because of the systematic memorization because of the systematic memorization program. b) supporting factors for memorizing the memorization target of each student are not the same, giving rewards to student who are able to achieved the target, holding events, bringing in motivating figures in memorizing. c) the constaint is the problem of disciplinary aplication in the field.

Abstract

This research aims to describe 1) the role of school principals in improving teacher performance and 2) describe the role of school principals in improving school quality. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this research are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results obtained from this research are 1) the role of school principals in improving teacher performance and school quality, by explaining, organizing, actuating, or controlling. Because it has a tremendous effect on progress and improvements for the institution itself. Teacher performance still has to be improved, it doesn't have to be continuously pushed by the school principal. However, the teacher's duties or rights and obligations have been prepared, as to what steps the teacher must take so that the principal only supervises. 2) school quality, every point of its vision and mission is well implemented. So, the rules for educators and students are all clearly stated. So in the end, the quality of the school can be seen from the institution that produces how many and what graduates enter state and foreign universities.

Abstract

Tahfidz students have a duty in addition to memorizing the Qur'an as well as students with all their learning tasks. Sometimes this situation makes students depressed which results in stress and depression. The emergence of stress and depression in students can result in low subjective wellbeing so that it can affect performance in memorizing the Qur'an. Spirituality can affect the subjective wellbeing level of tahfidz students, because with spirituality individuals can feel the presence of God and get social support during difficult times. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of spirituality on subjective wellbeing in tahfidz students at Islamic boarding schools. The hypothesis proposed is that there is an influence of spirituality on the subjective wellbeing of tahfidz students in Islamic boarding schools. The subjects in this study amounted to 92 tahfidz students at the Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School Lamongan. Taking the subject using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used measuring tools for spirituality level and measuring tools for subjective well-being which were arranged using a modified Likert scale model. The analytical technique used to analyze the data in this study is simple linear regression. The results showed that the R value or coefficient of determination was 0.889, which means that there is a very strong relationship between spirituality and subjective wellbeing. R square value of 0.813 indicates the influence of the independent variable (spirituality) on the dependent variable (subjective wellbeing) of 81.3%.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how literacy traditions are formed, nurtured, and practiced within the framework of adab (Islamic manners) at MI Nurul Hidayah, Urangagung, Sidoarjo. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data were gathered through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that literacy practices at the school emphasize not only reading skills but also integrate Islamic moral values such as discipline, politeness, responsibility, and respect for knowledge and teachers. The support of teachers, the head of the madrasah, and parental involvement are key factors in cultivating a respectful and meaningful reading culture. This research underscores that cultivating literacy in Islamic elementary education can be a path to character building when framed with the values of adab.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to identify the theological values ​​embedded in the study of Arabic calligraphy and to contribute to the formation of the religious character of Islamic boarding school students. Methodology: This study employed an interpretive research paradigm with a qualitative approach, conducted through interviews with 12 teachers (ustadz) and focus group discussions (FGD) with 6 students. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative content analysis techniques. Furthermore, the researchers conducted observations and document analysis to strengthen the data presented. Main Findings: The findings of this study indicate that theological values ​​in Arabic calligraphy are integrated into three main aspects: spirituality, Islamic aesthetics, and morality. In the spiritual aspect, the values ​​of tauhidiyah (monotheism), ikhlas (sincerity), dhikrullah (remembrance of Allah), tadabbur (religious service), and tazkiyatul nafsi (observance of one's soul) are found. In the Islamic aesthetic, the values of jamal (community), creativity, patience, and perseverance are essential to the learning process. In the moral aspect, calligraphy instills amanah (trustworthiness), tawadhu' (religious tolerance), and ukhuwah (brotherhood). Learning Arabic calligraphy contributes to strengthening spirituality, forming personal morals, instilling etiquette, developing Islamic aesthetics, and strengthening students' socio-religious character. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study has contributed to the strengthening of arts-based Islamic education that integrates theological values, aesthetic practices, and holistic character formation in a sustainable manner. This research has implications suggesting that Arabic calligraphy can be used as an effective pedagogical instrument for shaping socio-religious character education for students in Islamic boarding schools.
