Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh merebaknya pandemi Covid-19 yang menuntut semua pihak untuk siap dalam kondisi pembelajaran jarak jauh sebagai tuntutan tantangan di masa pandemi ini Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesiapan guru SMA bahasa Jepang mengenai konsep pembelajaran daring dan penggunaan media pembelajaran daring berbasis HOTS di masa pandemi Covid-19. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk melihat kesiapan guru bahasa Jepang dalam meningkatkan interaksi akademik antara guru dan siswa. Partisipan dalam kegiatan ini adalah 60 guru mata pelajaran bahasa Jepang SMA / SMK / MA yang ada di Jawa Barat, dan 20 guru MGMP Bahasa Jepang sebagai pilot studinya. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket, dokumentasi (media pembelajaran online), dan wawancara dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi dan pemahaman guru muda lebih siap menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran daring dibandingkan dengan guru yang lebih senior. Media aplikasi daring pun bermacam-macam. Penelitian selanjutnya membutuhkan analisis mendalam tentang apakah interaksi akademik dapat mempengaruhi siswa dan guru secara psikologis dan membantu meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki pengaruh media sosial terhadap kemampuan menulis bahasa Jepang. Berbagai studi tentang efek media sosial pada siswa sudah banyak dilakukan. Tapi penelitian ini lebih difokuskan pada bagaimana media sosial dapat mempengaruhi keterampilan menulis dan mengembangkan menulis kreatif pada pembelajar dewasa khususnya pembelajar bahasa Jepang sebagai bahasa asing. Pada penelitian ini media sosial yang digunakan dibatasi hanya menggunakan media email, WhatsApp dan Line. Berdasarkan hasil angket pada studi pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa ketiga media sosial ini yang paling sering digunakan mahasiswa khususnya mahasiswa bahasa Jepang pada saat berkomunikasi dengan dosen atau teman orang Jepang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen melalui kuesioner online dan menganalisis dari bukti autentik email, WhatsApps dan Line yang dikembangkan untuk mengeksplorasi pandangan siswa yang berpartisipasi mengenai media sosial, adopsi mereka terhadap media sosial untuk tujuan penelitian, dan pengaruhnya dalam mengembangkan keterampilan menulis bahasa Jepang. Partisipan yang mengikuti penelitian ini sebanyak 25 mahasiswa yang telah belajar bahasa Jepang rata-rata 3-4 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil survey dan hasil analisis angket, disimpulkan bahwa email, WhatsApp dan Line membantu dalam memperlancar dan mengembangkan kegiatan menulis terutama dalam pemahaman dari feedback yang dilakukan antara mahasiswa dan dosennya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop the quality of writing in middle-level Japanese language. From the results of the previousl questionnaires distributed, 80% of students found it difficult to develop story ideas into complete writing. The difficulty factor is influenced by the lack of time to develop ideas, beside that internal factors, namely mastery of vocabulary, mastery of sentence pattern structure. This study lasted for one semester at an university in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia with 20 students enrolled in  writing classes at  semesters 4. The students at the lower proficiency level reviewed peer texts. To examine gains in writing quality, a comparative analysis was conducted on writing samples collected at the beginning and the end of the semester. A questionnaire survey was also conducted to investigate the students’ perceptions t of assignments. The findings in this study that the students’ results needed to be feedback and evaluation to improve the ability to write Japanese short essays. Therefore, for further research  will need to apply peer feedback from peer tutors and evaluation from the teacher itself in order to improve writing skills  in writing quality.

Abstract

Abstract This study has investigated the relationship between the effectiveness of the note-taking strategy and the ability to listen to the discourse understanding of middle-level adult Japanese learners. This study is a quasi-experimental research. For its respondents are 2018/2019 academic year a fourth-semester students of the Department of Japanese Language Education in one of the state universities in Bandung, West Java. Data were collected from pre-test post-test results (quantitative data), and observations, respondent interviews (qualitative). Data validation by data triangulation technique. The results showed a relationship between strategy and improving listening comprehension skills. In other words, the note-taking strategy is quite influential in understanding discourse in intermediate-advanced listening skills. The limitation of this study is that the time for carrying out experimental activities is only two cycles, and the results of quantitative data have not given significant results because there must be a follow-up in the third cycle to see an increase in the ability to listen and understand. Therefore, further research will continue in the third cycle by focusing on keywords in a note-taking memo. Keywords: Classroom action research; listening comprehension skills; listening strategy; note taking strategy; second language acquisition Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki hubungan antara keefektivitasan strategi note-taking dengan kemampuan menyimak pemahaman wacana pembelajar bahasa Jepang dewasa tingkat menengah. Penelitian kuasi eksperimen ini Subjek penelitiannya adalah mahasiswa tingkat 2 semester 4 tahun akademik 2018/2019 Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang disalah satu Perguruan Tinggi Negeri yang ada di Bandung Jawa Barat. Data dikumpulkan dalam bentuk data kuantitatif berupa hasil pre-test post-test, dan data kualitatif dihimpun dari observasi, interviu responden. Kemudian validasi data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara strategi dengan meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak pemahaman. Dengan kata lain strategi note-taking cukup memberikan pengaruh dalam memahami wacana dalam kemampuan menyimak tingkat menengah-lanjutan. Keterbatasan penelitian ini adalah waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan eksperimen hanya dilakukan dua siklus sehingga hasil data kuantitatif belum memberikan hasil yang signifikan karena harus ada tindak lanjut pada siklus ketiga agar terlihat peningkatan kemampuan menyimak pemahamannya. Oleh karena itu untuk penelitian berikutnya akan dilanjutkan pada siklus ketiga dengan memfokuskan cara mememokan dalam penggunaan kata kunci. Abstract

In the practice of implementing gender equality, education is one of the receptacles for students to comprehend the implementation of gender equality starting from a very early age. However, many hindrances happened upon the implementation of gender equality on students, especially on elementary school students. The purpose of this research is as stimulation to implement the social reality which became an issue to role holders in implementing character building-related gender equality by observing Japan’s implementation of gender education which can be a reference to look at. The research covering this topic has been done by many. One of them almost publishes a similar topic which was conducted in 2012 which discussed Gender Equality on Education at PPL PGSD-partnership Elementary School. Therefore, the writers try to research this by adding new formula by comparing discoveries in Indonesian and Japanese Elementary School. This research is a combination of descriptive-contrastive methods, historical research, data collecting by interviews on elementary school students, and supported by a few journals which discuss Japanese character building. The results of the research show that Indonesia does not fully enforce gender equality in the education system. This is proven from the daily classroom cleaning schedule which is inversely proportional to Japan’s character building that enforces gender equality, starting from the act of classroom cleaning modelled after the tokkatsu model or educational model. Hopefully, the upcoming researches which study these issues can be a literature study of social symptoms which can meet the solution so this issue can be resolved.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine students' perceptions towards the use of YouTube as a teaching medium to increase students’ interest and motivation in learning Japanese. The method used is descriptive qualitative with survey techniques and literature research. The descriptive analysis is used to describe the percentage of each variable, namely the use of YouTube and Japanese students' interest and learning motivation. The results of this study indicate that YouTube offers a significant effect on students in the use of online video as a learning medium and the research findings show that the participants positively view the use of YouTube in their lessons. The result also revealed a significant increase in increasing student interest and motivation in learning Japanese. The results of this study can be an illustration to encourage students, especially in learning Japanese, to make the most of the online media or video channels on YouTube related to Japanese language learning. This research also can be an online learning system in technological development.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk menambah wawasan, menumbuhkan semangat dan motivasi, serta untuk mengembangkan kemampuan wirausaha di kalangan mahasiswa. Hal inilah yang mendasari diadakannya kegiatan webinar online sebagai bentuk pembinaan dan model monitoring dari perkuliahan Kewirausahaan Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang di salah satu Perguruan Tinggi Negeri di Kota Bandung Jawa Barat, agar mahasiswa dapat menciptakan usaha mandiri di masa Kenormalan Baru. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan aplikasi Zoom, dan diselenggarakan dalam tiga rangkaian webinar yang diikuti oleh empat puluh mahasiswa dan sepuluh alumni. Mitra non-profit yang dijadikan role-model dan narasumber adalah Kirihuci Indonesia. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mahasiswa dan alumni sebesar 90% dan peningkatan motivasi wirausaha 78% untuk menciptakan usaha baru dan mengembangkan usaha kecil sesuai bidang yang mereka minati, sehingga mahasiswa dan alumni memiliki strategi dalam membuka dan mengembangkan usaha kecil mereka yang akan dibina dan dimonitoring oleh tim Kewirausahaan Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang dan Kirihuchi Indonesia secara berkala.Abstract: The purpose of this online training is to add insight, foster enthusiasm and motivation, as well as to develop entrepreneurial skills among students. This is what underlies the holding of an online webinar activities as a form of coaching and monitoring model of Entrepreneurship lectures from the Department of Japanese Language Education at one of the public universities in Bandung City, West Java, so that students can create businesses in this New Normal era. The implementation of this activity itself is carried out using Zoom application, and held in four webinar series which attended by forty students and ten alumnies. The non-profit partner used as a role model and keynote speaker is Kirihuci Indonesia. The result of the implementation of this activity showed an increase in understanding of students and alumni by 90% and an increase in entrepreneurial motivation by 78% to create new businesses and develop small businesses according to their fields of interest. Then students and alumnies have formed the mindset and strategies in open and develop their new businesses. An activities will be monitored by the Entrepreneurship team of Departement of Japanese Language Education and Kirihuchi Indonesia on a regular basis.

Abstract

Abstrak: Mempelajari bahasa kedua pasti akan terjadi transfer bahasa baik itu transfer interlingual maupun intralingual yang menimbulkan berbagai penyimpangan dan mempengaruhi penggunaan bahasa asing kedepannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan bahasa Jepang level 0 hingga level JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) N3 pada frekuensi kesalahan intralingual dan interlingual oleh pemelajar bahasa Jepang pada karangan naratif. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik catat karena memiliki pendekatan yang lebih beragam melalui gambar dan kata-kata dalam keadaan sebenarnya serta membahas fenomena secara menyeluruh. Sumber data adalah 20 karangan naratif bahasa Jepang yang dibuat oleh 20 pemelajar bahasa Jepang dengan kemampuan JLPT yang berbeda mulai dari yang belum mempunyai sertifikat JLPT hingga JLPT level N3 yang dianalisis berdasarkan teori struktur taksonomi permukaan (surface strategy taxonomy). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kesalahan intralingual paling banyak ditemukan pada bentuk misformation yang dilakukan oleh pemelajar bahasa Jepang sebesar 73% dan 27% kesalahan interlingual dari berbagai kemapuan JLPT. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa semakin tinggi level kemampuan bahasa Jepang maka semakin sedikit persentase kesalahan dan level kemampuan bahasa Jepang tidak mempengaruhi persentase kesalahan interlingual. Perbedaan frekuensi tersebut disebabkan oleh faktor eksternal dan internal lainnya. Penelitian berikutnya diharapkan lebih berfokus pada jangka waktu pembelajaran bahasa Jepang dan faktor eksternal lainnya.Abstract:  Learning a second language will inevitably occur language transfers, both interlingual and intralingual transfers, which cause various deviations and affect the use of foreign languages in the future. The purpose of this study was to determine the form and frequency of intralingual and interlingual errors in the narrative essays of Japanese language learners ranging from Japanese language proficiency level 0 to JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) level N3. This research method is descriptive qualitative with a note proficient method because it has a more diverse approach through images and words in actual circumstances and discusses phenomena thoroughly. The data sources are 20 Japanese narrative essays made by 20 Japanese language learners with different JLPT capabilities ranging from those who do not have a JLPT certificate to the N3 level JLPT which is analyzed based on the theory of surface taxonomy. The results showed that the intralingual errors were found in the form of misformation made by Japanese language learners by 73% and 27% of interlingual errors from various JLPT abilities. This results proves that the higher the level of Japanese language proficiency, the less the percentage of errors and the level of Japanese language proficiency does not affect the interlingual errors. This caused by external and internal factors. Future research is expect to focus more on the duration of Japanese language learning and other external factors.Future research is expected to focus more on the duration of Japanese language learning and other external factors.

Abstract

Kandoushi is a word that expresses an impression, also called “interjection” in Indonesian, and is one type of emotive interjection. This study examines the meaning and use of emotive interjection, and its similarities and differences in Japanese and Indonesian. The method in this study used a descriptive contrastive analysis method with the note-taking technique. The data is taken from the dialogue in the Japanese anime “ReLIFE” and the Indonesian TV series “Tetangga Masa Gitu” and “Bajaj Bajuri”. The results of the study showed that the emotive interjection in Japanese and Indonesian had several similar meanings, particularly expressing feelings of pleasure, admiration, annoyance, confusion, and distress. Then, both of them have the same use, which is used to confirm the speech partner’s expression, is used to conclude something, is used to protest against the speech partner, is used to show approval, and is used to realize something. Interjection comprehension is very important in understanding an utterance intent in a conversation so that communication can take place with native speakers or fellow foreign students. This study only examines the interjections in terms of the emotive feeling/impression of being surprised. Therefore, for future research, it is expected to research form, meaning, and the use of other interjections in terms of phonology.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penggunaan mobile learning pada masa pandemi Covid-19 semakin meningkat karena sangat membantu menyampaikan materi saat pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi respon peserta didik terhadap penggunaan aplikasi Telegram sebagai media pembelajaran kanji dasar. Subjek penelitian dari penelitian ini adalah peserta Akari Kanji Course yang berjumlah 12 orang terdiri dari kalangan mahasiswa, karyawan, ibu rumah tangga, dan guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Telegram dalam pembelajaran kanji dasar menghasilkan respon yang positif dari peserta dan peserta merasa terbantu dalam belajar kanji. Abstract:  The use of mobile learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is increasing because it is accessible in conveying material during studying. This study aims to investigate student responses of the Telegram application as a media learning for basic kanji. The research subjects of this study were the 12 participants of the Akari Kanji Course are students, employees, housewifes, and teachers. This study uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that the use of the Telegram application in learning basic kanji resulted in a positive response from the participants then the participants found it helpful in learning kanji.
