Abstract

The Sanjaya Muntilan Pastoral Center (PPSM) has excellent potential as a public space that supports spiritual, educational, and social activities. However, limited outdoor facilities and uncomfortable environmental conditions challenge the area's development. This study aims to design an outdoor garden based on sustainable landscape architecture that enhances comfort, ecological value, and social functionality at PPSM. The methods employed include literature review, field observation, SWOT analysis, and thermal comfort simulation using ENVI-met software. The design outcomes include functional zone division, selection of local vegetation, and integration of hardscape–softscape elements. Thermal simulations during peak outdoor activity hours (08:00, 10:00, 16:00, and 18:00 WIB) showed a significant reduction in PET temperatures in key areas, demonstrating the design's effectiveness in creating a more comfortable microclimate. With an ecological and participatory approach, this park is expected to become a green oasis supporting pastoral services and the well-being of the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Cyber village is a residential area in RT (neighborhood association) 36 in the tourist area in Tamansari Yogyakarta. It has recognized image as an information technology based region with good internet network. Internet technology at the cyber village is slowly changing the behavior of the citizens from the social, economy, culture and tourism aspects. The behavior changes on the social, economic, cultural and tourism aspects affect the spatial setting at Tamansari "cyber" village to become a unique tourist area. The methods used in this research were Qualitative Research through observation to identify phenomena that occur, interviews, and literature studies that were analyzed by behavior setting method. The results of this research showed that changes in the image of the region influence the citizens’ behavior that finally creates certain spatial settings to meet the needs for space which could accommodate the village potentials, covering the social, economic, tourism and cultural potentials.

Abstract

Housing is one of the 3 primary human needs, namely clothing, food and shelter. The development of residential houses is growing rapidly with various types, one of which is a couple or attached type of residence developed by housing developers. Couple residences generally do not have side openings and only use natural light sources from the front and back of the house. These problems make the owner make a solution for opening the upper natural lighting with the aim of optimizing the entry of sunlight during the day so that there is no need for additional energy to illuminate the room. The next problem from the application of top light openings is that the light consumed by the space will be excessive and cause heat in the space. This research method is measuring the value of incoming light using a lux meter and measuring temperature and heat envelopes using a thermal camera with the hope that the measurement results are able to create the right top light opening so that it does not cause glare and does not increase heat in the room.

Abstract

The mosque serves as a place of worship for the Muslim community and is imperative to possess an optimal level of comfort. Mosque design has evolved not only in terms of functionality but also in considering the comfort level through the utilization of natural lighting. The utilization of Natural Lighting emerges as a significant choice, particularly for mosques with expansive areas, facilitating energy conservation. Challenges in implementing natural lighting in mosque design, especially in open concepts, include temperature rise and glare effects that may disrupt worship comfort. Research methodology involves measuring the incoming light values using a lux meter and conducting thermal envelope measurements using a thermal camera (FLIR) within the spaces of the open-concept mosque, followed by simulation to devise a design for sunshade fins. The design of sunshade fins aids in temperature reduction while maintaining natural light penetration and mitigating glare issues in open-concept mosques.
