Abstract

Abstract Yogyakarta International Airport in Temon, Kulon Progo, is projected as a replacement for Yogyakarta Adisu-tjipto International Airport. This new airport requires an intermodal passenger transport, which is a mode of transportation that needs to be prepared to connect the airport with the supporting cities served. In this study, a questionnaire survey involving 1,000 respondents was conducted. The survey was conducted at Adisutjipto Airport to find out the origin and destination of passengers in using the mode of transportation to and from Yogyakarta International Airport. Based on the origin and destination data, a map of the airport service area is made. The proportion of the choice of transportation mode was used as the basis of the potential passenger demand for a route. The route of intermodal transportation is found to be from and goes to 10 points, namely Borobudur, Kebumen, Magelang, Purwokerto, Purworejo, Temanggung, Wates/Sentolo, Wonosari, Wonosobo, and Yog-yakarta. The operational costs of intermodal passenger transport are Rp9,570.53 per kilometer. The average passenger fare per kilometer is Rp1,042.07. The tariff for various routes is more realistic in describing the distance, with an average deviation of Rp38.24 and a range of Rp141.55. Keywords: intermodal passenger transport, airport, tariffs, operational costs  Abstrak Yogyakarta International Airport di Temon, Kulon Progo, diproyeksikan sebagai pengganti Bandar Udara Internasional Adisutjipto Yogyakarta. Abstract

Nowadays, in the Java region, keris is still considered as something which is sacred, holy, amulets, magic, and something which has extraordinary power. This way, people believe that keris can influence career, health, and learner’s character by the teacher (Sang Guru). The explanation of how that phenomenon can happen is discussed under trans-personality, psychological education, metaphysics, and cultures. It regards its role both as a suitable learning medium for the character education in the past and as an aid luhung (Beautiful) culture heritage admitted by UNESCO. This paper aims to proportionally regard and place keris as it should be: as kaca benggala (mirror) of the use of modern learning media in character education, which has to be better. This paper is not a common-sense, but an inference of a participant observation conducted in a long enough time in a relevant environment; the explanation is mainly based on some experience of the researcher after passing through an extended meditation. Hopefully, our future generation can see the authentic keris, not only as a picture – the way they now see Javanese tiger – and they do not have to go to museums in neighboring countries.

Abstract

Bayung Gede Village is included in one of traditional villages in Bali, which until now is still preserved. The village that becomes a pioneer of traditional village development in Bangli area has population growth that continues to increase. Population growth is also affected by awig-awig or the traditional village regulations, the education and welfare level, and the community’s economy. These conditions affect the morphological and structural development of traditional village yard because the number of the need for dwellings is proportional to the number of population growth. The problem raised is how the influences of population growth on the morphological development in Bayung Gede traditional village are. The method used was descriptive analysis by collecting data method through field observation, deep interview, and literature study. This study finds a morphological development pattern of the village that currently has a concept that still firmly holds village’s awig-awig. How ever, the pattern of the settlement growth shows more flexible tolerance to the influence of new infrastructure in the surrounding areas, where the condition of the regional morphology in the traditional village yard is triggered by population growth of Bayung Gede Village.

Abstract

Facilitation and stimulation on the environmentally friendly waste management with the Triple-R community-based pattern deal with the problems of limited infrastructure and the lack of incentive and disincentive mechanisms. The waste management organized by the communities actually has developed even though the scope and scale of service remain low. This research applies descriptive and qualitative approaches in nature by using both primary and secondary data collection. The data analysis refers to the relevant waste regulations. The concluding inferences are drawn deductively. The results show that the participatory approach implementation is useful to enabling the local community in conducting self-identification, analysis, and mapping of the actual problems, potentials, threats, and obstacles related to waste management; hence, they could find the appropriate solutions. In fact, they are able to conduct self-organizing practice through collective actions necessary to waste problem solving, which have already been manifested in their higher awareness on responding the waste problems for the sake of mutual interests.

Abstract

Started as a fishing settlement area in Bontang Kuala Village, the City of Bontang has been growing very rapidly. However, despite this growth people's standard of living has been decreasing in terms of environmental quality, income as well as sheltering with the emergence of slum areas. These conditions greatly affect the physical, social, cultural and economic aspects of life. The management of slum areas in Bontang City becomes strategic because slums are integrated with the rest of the city including the downtown area and urban growth centers, as well as with the other areas in the vicinity, such as industrial, commercial, warehousing, and office areas. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the characteristics of the slum areas. The identification methods do not discriminate the distribution of slum areas. The criteria used include non-economic vitality, regional economic vitality, land ownership status, infrastructure and facility conditions, local government’s commitment, and handling priorities. Environmental assessment of the slums was done by assigning a weighting system to each of the above criteria. The determination of the weights of the criteria is relative and depends on the individual and group preferences in looking at the influence of each criterion. The improvement or treatment patterns appropriate to be applied in Bontang City should be in accordance with the site characteristics. Locations with high-scale slum category (HS) requires the curative pattern while those with moderate category (MS) should take reductive treatment, and slum areas with low-scale category (LS) will require preventive treatment.
