Abstract

Non-bank financial institutions, particularly Islamic financing companies, play a strategic role in supporting national economic activities. Islamic Financing Companies, either as fully-fledged companies or Sharia Business Units (UUS), face various complex risk challenges. According to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the assets of Islamic financing companies increased significantly from IDR 27.85 trillion (2023) to IDR 33.67 trillion (2024), although their market share remains limited to below 6%. Amid these dynamics, the implementation of risk management becomes a critical element to ensure stability, sustainability, and compliance with Sharia principles. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through library research, analyzing the risks, principles, standards, stages, and strategies of risk management in Islamic financing companies, as well as their practices in the industry. The findings indicate that companies such as PT. Astra Sedaya Finance and PT. Sharia Multifinance Astra have adopted comprehensive risk management strategies, including internal risk control, risk oversight through risk management and compliance functions, and independent internal audits. This approach is integrated with anticipatory measures, such as policy updates, information technology development, human resource empowerment, and the implementation of business continuity plans. By adhering to ISO SNI 31000 standards and OJK regulations, these companies effectively identify, measure, monitor, and manage eight key risks, including strategic, operational, and compliance risks. This study emphasizes that the implementation of integrated and continuous risk management not only strengthens the companies’ competitiveness but also enhances stakeholder confidence in addressing the challenges of the dynamic Islamic financing industry.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah citizens consisting of Muhammadiyah members and those who work and study or attend Muhammadiyah organizations. There are interesting objects to analyze because Muhammadiyah can collect waqf assets, especially cash waqf of Rp 2.4 trillion per year. This is a very large amount. If invested productively, the results or profits can be channelled for the progress and prosperity of the Muhammadiyah organization and Muslims. This research aims to determine the influence of the variables Waqf Literacy, Islamic Religiosity, Subjective Norm, Perceived Behavior Control, and Attitude in influencing the interest of Muhammadiyah citizens to become wakif. The analytical method used is quantitative with a Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach. The software used is SmartPLS 3.0. The sample used was 188 respondents from 14 provinces in Indonesia. This research indicates that Muhammadiyah citizens' interest in becoming wakif can be directly influenced by the variables of Islamic Religiosity and their Perceived Behavior Control (PBC). However, the indirect influence on Muhammadiyah's citizens' interest is insignificant. This result can be seen from the research results that the variables Islamic Religiosity, Waqf Literacy, Subjective Norm, PBC, and Attitude do not significantly influence the interest of Muhammadiyah citizens in becoming wakif. One of the causes of this insignificance is the direct influence between the Attitude variable and interest insignificantly. So, the implications of this research were increasing Islamic Religiosity and PBC in Muhammadiyah citizens becoming waqif. Implications for further research include adding or replacing variables that influence people's interest in becoming a waqif, are trust and transparency

Abstract

Good corporate governance emphasizes the importance of effective supervision by the board of directors and audit committee in overseeing bank policies and practices, including environmental policies. A strong supervisory structure, which is a part of GCG, can assist banks in identifying, measuring, and managing environmental risks more effectively. Through proper risk management, banks can mitigate the likelihood of adverse impacts on the bank's financial performance. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of supervision for the internal company policymakers on bank financial performance given the requirement for green banking disclosure. The research design is causality using organizations, i.e., banks listed on the IDX-IC Share (Indonesian Stock Exchange) for the 2019 – 2022 period as the unit of analysis. The number of samples consisted of 103 companies annual data, while the data analysis used unbalanced panel data regression. The research results show that good corporate governance mechanisms (gender diversity, board size) and green banking affect bank performance, while audit committee size does not affect bank performance. Gender diversity does not affect green banking, while board size and audit committee size affect green banking. Green banking is only able to moderate the influence of board size on the bank’s performance.

Abstract

Introduction: This research aims to explore the needs of Muslim travelers who visit the Super-Priority Destination of Labuan Bajo. Labuan Bajo is considered one of the potential destinations for developing halal tourism in Indonesia. However, the predominance of a non-Muslim population in the region presents a distinctive challenge in the implementation and promotion of halal tourism practices. Methods: The approach used is qualitative, with data collected through in-depth interviews with Muslim Traveler informants who had visited Labuan Bajo. The in-depth interview questions are based on the extension of the theory of travel. Results: The research results show that the main motivations for Muslim travelers visiting this place are recreation and work, where natural beauty and ease of access are the main factors attracting Muslim tourists to visit this place. However, there are still many challenges that need to be addressed, such as the limited availability of prayer facilities in some island destinations, the lack of halal-certified food options, and the insufficient communication between tour providers and tourists. Conclusion and suggestion: This study concludes that Labuan Bajo is a Muslim-friendly destination, but the improvement of worship facilities and halal food must be optimized. This research is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of halal tourism in predominantly non-Muslim destinations that are inclusive and sustainable.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to determine priority problems, solutions, and strategies for developing stock waqf in Indonesia.Methodology – The analytical method used was qualitative with the Delphi approach. The informants for this research were experts in the field of shared waqf. The group of informants consisted of regulators, sharia stock practitioners, nazhir, academics, and wakif with a total of 13 informants.Findings – The results show that the priority issues regarding investor knowledge are from the wakif aspect. A priority problem is the low-literacy stock waqf. The solution priority is from a regulatory perspective. The sub-criteria of the operating rules that are the priority for the solution are the issuance of technical regulations for managing stock waqf. The strategy priority that can be implemented to develop a stock waqf is from the Nazhir aspect as a human resource. Implications – The implications of the research results are in the form of a strategy implemented by the Indonesian waqf board (Badan Wakaf Indonesia, BWI) by issuing standard operating procedures (SOP) for nazhirs in the management of stock waqfs.Originality – The novelty of this research lies in the development of stock waqf, as seen from the problems, solutions, and strategies. In addition to different things, this study also uses a qualitative Delphi approach to formulate problems, solutions, and strategies for developing equity waqf in Indonesia. The Delphi method has not been widely used in Indonesian stock waqf research.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the evolution of the role of al hisbah in the financial sector, especially the capital markets industry. Along with the times and the increasing complexity of today's government bureaucracy, the role of al hisbah has been formed differently in each country according to their respective needs. This research uses an exploratory qualitative method with secondary data. The research results show that the role of al hisbah is very complex, one of which is in the financial sector of the capital market to carry out supervision in order to protect investors from both external and internal risks. In this case, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) plays the role of al hisbah which coordinates with the National Sharia Council (DSN) to ensure transactions and activities in the Indonesian Islamic capital market are safe and healthy.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of intellectual capital, especially when paying attention to the element of company size on company value. The analysis uses panel data regression. The sample selection method uses purposive sampling on non-financial companies listed on IDX-IC (Indonesian Stock Exchange) for the 2019-2022 period. The research results show that, of the three proxies used, SCE and CEE have a significant effect on company value, while the role of SIZE is only for SCE and CEE. HCE still does not play a role in determining market value, either directly or when moderated by SIZE. These findings prove that HCE is not always the main priority in determining company value, but other elements are considered more important by companies.
