Abstract

This paper describes the use of NLP in the teaching of English communication. Actually, there are two kinds of communication, verbal and non verbal communication. So that in teching English for communication, those kinds of communication should be extreamly considered. Many methods of teaching employed which are still based on humanistic methods consisting of community language learning (CLL), suggestopedia, the Silent Way, Total Physical Response (TPR) and natural approach focuse only on verbal communication. In fact, in communication, both verbal and nonverbal aspects are important to comprehend. So far, there are still many students who are frustrated at being unable to express themselves, and to communicate among people although they have been learning English for many years. In NLP, the language learning process is how learners experience the world, and how to decrease the anxiety of learners who are learning English. The increasing propularity of NLP in English language teaching is a reflection on the low self-esteem of educators and students.

Abstract

Writing ability is a skill that must be mastered by students. One of the media can be applied in teaching writing is TV Newscast. The objective of this research is to find out whether the writing ability of the eleventh-grade students of SMKN 1 Kudus in 2016/2017 academic year after being taught by using TV newscast is better than before. This study is experimental research; in this research, the writer used one group pre-test post-test design. There are two variables; they are TV newscast (independent variable) and the students' writing ability (dependent variable). The population of the research is the eleventh-grade students of SMKN 1 Kudus in 2016/2017 academic year. The writer used random cluster sampling as the technique to take the sample. Then XI AK 1 (accountancy class) consists of 38 students was taken. The research used achievement test as instrument for measuring the students' writing ability before and after being taught by using TV newscast and then the data were analyzed using the statistical formula. Based on the result of this research, the t0 (obtained) was higher than t-critical (20.09 1.56). It showed that t0 (obtained) on the critical area and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Then the conclusion is that the writing ability of the eleventh-grade students of State Vocational School 1 Kudus in 2016/2017 academic year after being taught by using TV newscast is significant.

Abstract

Abstrak            Arah sebuah kebijakan publik khususnya dalam  pendidikan adalah penentu masa depan sebuah bangsa. Apabila arah ini tidak jelas, maka berakibat pada kekacauan kompetensi dan perilaku apa yang harus diajarkan kepada generasi penerus bangsa agar mampu menghadapi masa depan sesuai dengan arah yang ditetapkan. Kekacauan tersebut menyebabkan muatan materi pengajaran akan berlebihan dan membuat beban belajar anak semakin berat. Padahal subtansi pendidikan itu berawal dari arah dan konsep yang jelas, hal ini juga pernah dikemukakan oleh Budiono dalam artikelnya di Kompas (Senin, 27 Agustus 2012) lalu. Ketidakjelasan konsep disebabkan ketidakjelasan ideologi yang kita terapkan. Ideologi Pancasila masih kekadar nama, tetapi pada kenyataannya Pancasila yang disakralkan ternyata dicampakkan dalam pembuatan setiap kebijakan negara, termasuk kebijakan pendidikan oleh pemerintah. Kata Kunci: Refleksi kritis, Kebijakan Pendidikan, dan Ideologi Pendidikan

Abstract

AbstrakSecara umum kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia masih rendah sehingga patut memperoleh perhatian serius dari berbagai kalangan: pemerintah, praktisi pendidikan, dan masyarakat. Mutu sumber daya manusia Indonesia tidak jauh berbeda dengan kualitas pendidikan di negeri ini. Karena, kualitas pendidikan terkait erat dengan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Jika proses pendidikan ditata kelola secara professional maka akan melahirkan manusia yang bermutu, Hal tersebut mengisyaratkan adanya paradoks antara pentingnya Sumber Daya Manusia Handal (Human Capital) untuk kemajuan suatu Negara di satu sisi dengan kondisi riil kualitas hasil  pendidikan di Indonesia baik pada jenjang Sekolah Menengah maupun Pendidikan Tinggi di sisi lain. Abstract

This article explores the rhetoric of Yuliana in describing the difficulties of parents, teachers, and school administration during covid-19 health crisis. This study is guided by content analysis and the analytical framework of Appraisal from systemic functional linguistics, which concerned with the language of evaluation. The study reveals that in order to show the problematic matters of poor early students, their parents, the teachers, and the owner of a daycare center, Yuliana utilizes the appraisal system in a variety ways, with the aim to show some alternative solutions to the owners of the schools and the governments as to invest more because of the importance of early education for young generations for the future.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 yang telah berlangsung kurang lebih dua tahun telah membawa dampak di segala sektor kehidupan, tak terkecuali sektor Pendidikan. Untuk memutus mata rantai penyebaran penyakit ini maka, pemerintah memberlakukan Pembeljaran secara daring. Akan tetapi pembelajaran daring ini membuat kualitas pendidikan menurun khususnya di wilayah Kecamatan Juwana. Penurunan kualitas belajar ini terlihat pada hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran Matematika. Berbagai upaya direncanankan untuk meningkatkan kembali kualitas pembelajaran. Salah satunya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran yang dapat mengakitifkan siswa, sehingga hasil belajar dapat mengalami peningkatan. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah Group Investigation dan Student Teams Achievement Division Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) Untuk mengujii pengaruh penerapan model Pembelajaran Group Investigation terhadap hasil belajar Matematika siswa kelas V SD Negeri di Gugus Jendral Sudirman Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023, (2) Untuk menguji pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Division terhadap hasil belajar Matematika siswa kelas V SD Negeri di Gugus Jendral Sudirman Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023, (3) Untuk membuktikan apakah ada perbedaan hasil belajar Matematika siswa kelas V SD Negeri di Gugus Jendral Sudirman Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023 selama penerapan model Pembelajaran Group Investigation dan Student Teams Achievement Division. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Sampel berasal dari kelas V SD Agungmulyo, SDN Bakaran Kulon dan SDN Langgenharjo 02. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest posttest control grup design. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes yang terdiri dari prestest dan postest. Uji instrumen terdiri dari uji normalitas dan reliabilitas, uji prasyarat adalah uji normalitas dan homogenitas, analisis data menggunakan tingkat kesukaran, dan uji t-test sampel independen. Hasil penelitian:1) Model Pembelajaran Group Investigation (GI) berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar, hal ini berdasarkan perolehan nilai Thitung 40,858 > t-tabel 2,016692 dan taraf signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. 2). (2) Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Division berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar. Hal ini berdasarkan perolehan nilai 54,829 > t-tabel 2,007584 dan taraf signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 . (3) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar selama penerapan model Pembelajaran Group Investigation dan Student Teams Achievement Division, hal ini berdasarkan nilai Thitung sebesar 3,514 > Ttabel 2,012896 dan taraf signifikansi 0,005 < 0,05 serta nilai mean yang diperoleh GI lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan nilai mean pada pemebalajaran STAD (84,09 > 77,50). Simpulan: Model Pembelajaran Group Investigation dan Student Teams Achievement Division berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Model Pembelajaran Group Investigation lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar disbanding model Student Teams Achievement Division.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to develop classical guidance media based on the Lectora Inspire application and determine the level of effectiveness of the media in overcoming bullying behavior in SMP 1 Kaliwungu Kudus. The research is Research and Development (R and D) using ADDIE model that consists of five stages: analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments were observation sheets, interviews, questionnaires, validation sheets, and tests. The feasibility analysis shows that the validation of material obtained an average of 3.93 with a very good category, the validation of media obtained an average of 3.78 with a very good category, and the validation of the user obtained an average of 3.84 with a very good category. The analysis of increased knowledge about bullying of the students shows an average pretest score of 35.05 while the average posttest score of 61.08 with an increase of 74,27 % and the decrease in the level of bullying in students’ behavior from an average value of 95,85 to 56.67 with the decrease of 69,10 %. Based on the results of the T-test that determine the effectiveness of  the media to increase the students' knowledge and the results of the Wilcoxon test that determine the effectiveness of classical guidance to change students’ behavior show that the development of classical guidance media based on the Lectora Inspire application is effective to overcome bullying behavior of the students in SMP 1 Kaliwungu Kudus.Keywords: Bullying, Classical guidance, Media, Lectora inspire

Abstract

Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membekali masyarakat Desa Jepang Kecamatan Dawe Kabupaten Kudus khususnya generasi muda agar memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan cara membuat copywriting untuk promosi pariwisata dengan kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Metode pemberdayaan yang dilaksanakan terdiri dari beberapa tahapan. Pertama, pelatihan copywriting baik teori maupun praktek, pendampingan copywriting online, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian copywriting dilaksanakan pada tanggal 23 September s/d 8 Oktober 2023. Hasil dari Pengabdian Masyarakat Copywriting menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan masyarakat desa Jepang dalam membuat copywriting meningkat setelah dilakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hal ini terlihat dari copywriting yang dihasilkan selama proses pelatihan. Diharapkan setelah pengabdian masyarakat ini terlaksana, masyarakat di Japan Village dapat secara mandiri mempromosikan destinasi wisata dan event pariwisata dengan lebih baik dan persuasif kepada calon wisatawan domestik maupun internasional.

Abstract

Abstract: One of the language English components is writing. Writing is the ability to articulate and express ideas or emotions that arise in the mind in the form of words, phrases, and paragraphs. Throughout the writing process, some students have expressed that learning to write feels tedious and unimportant to them. When teaching writing, there are numerous strategies that must be employed to promote written communication among students. Collaborative learning  is a strategy that can be employed in pairs or groups and has been proven to be effective in addressing students' writing challenges. A short story is a type of concise fiction, considering the events portrayed, the content of the story, the number of characters, and the word count used. To write a short story students must have capable in grammer. This research aims to determine the influence of the collaborative learning to improve  students' grammer in writing short story  at eleventh grade students of SMAN 1 Batangan. The research used both qualitative and quantitative research. Some inferences that can be made in light of the research findings and the comments in section four are as follows: Incorporating collaborative learning into the classroom can boost students' interest and motivation while also helping them write better short stories. It is evident from the table analysis conducted before and after treatment that there was an improvement, going from 39% in cycle 1 to 87% in cycle 2. There is a 48% improvement.
