Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to analyze the main problems faced by students and teachers in learning English at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Pos Bersih elementary school in Malaysia. Assess the effectiveness of learning methods and provide recommendations for English learning strategies. This study used a descriptive qualitative methodology with data collection using interviews, moderate participant observation, documentation and literature review. Data from interviews, observations, documentation and literature reviews will be contrasted to identify consistency and differences in teacher practices in providing language learning infrastructure through comparative analysis, research findings will be strengthened and provide a more holistic picture of the problem under study. The results of the discussion are that the researcher found the problems of students in learning English at the SK Pos Bersih 1) motivation and interest 2) limited understanding of English at the beginning 3) Lack of use of English in daily life 4) lack of confidence when communicating as well as for teachers 1) emphasis on standardized tests 2) High Workload. Then the writing of designing strategic suggestions with literature reviews includes 1) encouraging active student involvement 2) Integration of Educational Technology 3) project-based learning 4) student-centered learning. Keywords: english, low school, learning quality

Abstract

This study aims to describe the literacy strengthening program at SDIT Al Bayyinah, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic which made students almost 2 years old have to carry out distance/online learning activities. The research method used a qualitative descriptive method, namely to get a complete and detailed relation to the implementation of the literacy program at SDIT Al Bayyinah. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that the pandemic did not stop literacy activities at SDIT Al Bayyinah, various activities continued to be carried out during the pandemic including Readathon activities, literacy trees, making poetry, short stories, and other essays in an effort to continue to grow students' literacy skills in various situations and even managed to win the Garut district level literacy competition during the Pandemic and were actively involved in solving the challenges of the Gerakan Literasi Nasional “GLN Gareulis Jabar Movement program which had been running for 1.5 years. This literacy activity at SDIT Al Bayyinah is not only carried out by students but also involves teachers and parents.

Abstract

The research was conducted to examine the implementation of education on the pandemic of covid-19. Education is one of the sectors affected by the impact of the pandemic covid-19. Various media and the strategy were undertaken by teachers for students ' rights in education. Elementary School becomes the locus of interest by researchers to be studied. The purpose of this research is to conduct a study of the teachers and the ethics associated with the media and the strategies used by teachers in learning about the pandemic. It’s chosen IRE’s teacher and ethics in research is due to the Elementary teachers of subjects separate and different from the class teacher. This research uses qualitative research methods through a phenomenological approach. The location of this research was in an Elementary school in Garut Regency, selected samples in the snowball as many as 34 informant teachers. The subject in this study is teachers. This study shows that the need for innovation is done by teachers to ensure the sustainability of the learning process.

Abstract

Desa Cidatar merupakan salah satu Desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Cisurupan Kabupaten Garut. Mayoritas masyarakat desanya terdapat pada sektor pertanian. Salah satu Kampung yang masyarakatnya bermata pencaharian sebagai petani adalah Desa Sukasenang, yaitu mayoritas petani wortel. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk meningkatkan perekonomian keluarga di Kampung Sukasenang, Desa Cidatar, Kabupaten Garut dengan cara memberdayakan perempuan melalui kediatan pengolahan permen jelly dan keripik yang terbuat dari wortel agar petani di sana tidak terjerat oleh Bank Emok (Rentenir) yang semakin merajalela di daerah perkampungan. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dari kegiatan pengabdian ini masyarakat atau petani di Kampung Sukasenang merasa senang dan cukup puas dengan adanya pengabdian yang dilaksanakan oleh Dosen dan Mahasiswanya. Petani di sana dirasa mendapatkan ilmu baru tentang pemanfaatan tanaman wortel. Wortel tidak hanya dijadikan sebagai makanan hewan ternak saja, namun dapat diolah menjadi makanan yang bermanfaat dan dapat dijadikan sebagai peluang dalam berkegiatan wirausaha dengan mengolahnya menjadi permen jelly dan keripik wortel. Berdasarkan analisa, dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa masyarakat merasa teredukasi dan memiliki peluang bisnis yang bagus untuk ke depannya.

Abstract

This article aims to explain the importance of returning socio-cultural values of Islamic education in the learning process in pesantren, as a model of Islamic education that is humanist and inclusive, and upholds socio-cultural values. The method used in this article is to use a qualitative-analytical approach with a descriptive method. The results of the discussion show: (1) That the socio-cultural values of Islamic education in pesantren are very vital and their presence is needed to produce humanist and inclusive students, (2) Integration of socio-cultural values of Islamic education in the learning process in pesantren, by integrating religious values, culture, and diversity, (3) The integration gives birth to socio-cultural values, such as respecting differences in schools of thought in worship practices, assimilation between cultures and regional languages, tolerance and human rights, and social coherence between students

Abstract

Literacy and numeracy abilities are determining factors for individual success in learning. Currently, literacy and numeracy skills are the main subjects in the independent curriculum. As one of the programs of the independent curriculum in tertiary institutions, the kampus mengajar is intended to serve the purpose of increasing students' literacy and numeracy skills. This study aims to describe the results of research on improving literacy and numeracy skills in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews and questionnaires. The object of this research is schools that run kampus mengajar programs in Garut Regency. The data were then analyzed using qualitative methods. The results of this study indicate that the kampus mengajar program has contribution in increasing students' literacy and numeracy in elementary schools, especially 3T schools. The kampus mengajar program contributes a lot to activities both in learning and activities outside the classroom. This is very possible for students to have good literacy skills. This is due to the existence of learning innovations offered by students in the target schools. Kemampuan literasi dan numerasi menjadi faktor penentu keberhasilan individu dalam belajar. Saat ini kemampuan literasi dan numerasi menjadi pembelajaran pokok di kurikulum merdeka. Sebagai salah satu program dari kurikulum merdeka di perguruan tinggi, kampus mengajar dimaksudkan untuk melakukan pengabdian pada peningkatan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian tentang peningkatan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi di sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi fenomenologi. Data diambil melalui wawancara dan angket. Objek penelitian ini yaitu sekolah-sekolah yang menjalankan program kampus mengajar di Kabupaten Garut. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa program kampus mengajar memiliki kontribusi dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa di sekolah dasar terutama sekolah 3T. Program kampus mengajar memberikan banyak kontribusi kegiatan baik dalam pembelajaran ataupun kegiatan di luar kelas. Hal ini sangat memungkin siswa memiliki kemampuan literasi yang baik. Ini dikarenakan adanya inovasi pembelajaran yang ditawarkan oleh mahasiswa di sekolah sasaran.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the competency of elementary school teachers in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitalizing learning in Limbangan District, Garut Regency. Digital transformation requires teachers to have technological literacy beyond basic skills, but field findings indicate that MI teachers' digital competency remains at a low level, especially in AI integration, digital learning design, and interactive media production. The activity was carried out through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach that involved teachers as active partners in the know, understand, plan, act, reflect, and evaluate stages. A total of 30 teachers from 10 MIs were involved in practice-based training, mentoring, learning simulations, and AI-based media production. Data were obtained through pretests and posttests, observations, interviews, and structured reflections. The program results showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding and skills in using AI-based tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Canva AI) and in designing more interactive digital learning. The pretest confirmed that teachers' initial competency was in the low category, especially in the TPACK and technology integration aspects. After the training, teachers demonstrated improved skills in developing digital lesson plans, creating AI-based automated teaching media, and implementing digital assessments in their learning. Teacher reflections demonstrated a shift in pedagogical behavior toward more creative, responsive, and technology-based practices. The PAR cycle was effective in strengthening digital readiness and enhancing teacher self-efficacy. This program demonstrated that practice-based interventions, ongoing mentoring, and community collaboration can accelerate the transformation of MI teachers' digital competencies in a contextual and measurable manner.

Abstract

Program kerja sosialisasi diabetes melitus dan screening gula darah ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pemeriksaan kesehatan melalui kegiatan sosialisasi diabetes melitus serta screening gula darah dan tekanan darah. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal di Desa Bandung Baru Barat, diketahui bahwa kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pemeriksaan kesehatan masih rendah, khususnya pemeriksaan gula darah dan tekanan darah secara rutin. Metode pelaksanaan program kerja dilakukan dalam satu hari melalui sosialisasi kesehatan dan dilanjutkan dengan screening kesehatan yang meliputi pemeriksaan gula darah sewaktu dan pengukuran tekanan darah, dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 35 orang. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pemeriksaan gula darah menghasilkan 62,8% kategori normal, 22,8% pra diabetes, dan 14,2% diabetes. Sementara itu, hasil pemeriksaan tekanan darah menunjukkan 80% normal, 8,5% pra hipertensi, dan 11,4% hipertensi. Program kerja screening kesehatan ini berdampak pada meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kondisi kesehatannya serta pentingnya melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan secara rutin dan menerapkan pola hidup sehat.

Abstract

Low narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Mulyasari 2, Bayongbong District, Garut Regency. Initial observations indicated that many students had difficulty expressing ideas, determining characters, plot, conflict, and resolution, resulting in short, incoherent, and less engaging stories. This study aimed to analyze the effect of word card media on students’ creative narrative writing skills. A quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was used, involving 20 students, with a narrative writing test based on Guilford’s creativity indicators and a learning activity observation sheet. The results showed a significant improvement in writing skills, with the average pretest score increasing from 56.75 to 79.75 in the posttest and a t-test significance value of 0.000. Observations also revealed increased student participation, interest, and ability to develop ideas coherently and in detail. These findings indicate that word card media is an effective, simple, and engaging learning tool to enhance narrative writing skills in elementary school students. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena rendahnya antusiasme serta daya serap siswa terhadap konsep sains di sekolah dasar akibat penggunaan strategi mengajar yang monoton. Studi eksperimental semu ini menggunakan desain Non-equivalent Control Group pada siswa kelas IV SDN 1 Sukatani. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas belajar di kelas eksperimen mencapai level sangat baik (81,54%). Analisis data membuktikan adanya pengaruh signifikan dengan capaian N-Gain sebesar 59,01%, yang jauh melampaui kelas kontrol (23,68%). Dengan demikian, integrasi model ini efektif dalam memperkuat penguasaan materi IPA pada siswa.   Kata kunci: Cooperative Learning, Make a match, flash card
