Abstract

Teknik tremolo adalah salah satu elemen penting dalam repertoar gitar klasik disebabkan peran vitalnya dalam menciptakan melodi yang indah dan efek harmoni yang kaya. Teknik ini juga diakui sebagai faktor penguat komposisi gitar klasik yang menempatkan tremolo sebagai komponen utama sebagaimana terdapat pada masterpiece Franscisco Tarrega, Recuerdos de la Alhambra. Penelitian ini menelusuri perkembangan teknik tremolo gitar klasik mulai dari masa sebelum  Tárrega hingga awal abad ke-20. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengidentifikasi kontribusi inovatif Tarrega dalam karya tersebut terhadap perkembangan teknik tremolo pada karya komponis-komponis setelahnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif musikologis dengan pendekatan studi kasus dan historikal. Penulis juga melakukan analisis terhadap komposisi Recuerdos de la Alhambra dengan membedah partitur komposisi tersebut, literatur akademik gitar klasik, dan catatan sejarah komposisi tersebut guna meneliti pengaruh Tárrega dalam sejarah gitar klasik dan pentingnya “Recuerdos de la Alhambra” dalam konteks perkembangan teknik tremolo. Dalam penelitian ini terungkap bahwasannya kontribusi F. Tarrega terhadap perkembanan teknik tremolo gitar klasik sangatlah besar. Kontribusinya dapat dilihat dari seberapa berpengaruhnya karyanya yang yang berjudul Recuerdos de la Alhambra.

Abstract

This article is written to reveal; trends in online music learning, innovations in online music curriculum, challenges in online music learning, issues of teaching quality and evaluation of online music learning, and the success of online music learning programs. The method used in this research is qualitative type, using data analysis of Miles and Huberman's theory which consists of four pillars namely; data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study show; (1) Trends in online music learning have a good impact in creating exciting opportunities for music learning, as well as presenting new ways of understanding and creating musical works. (2) Innovations in the online music learning curriculum form a new culture in music teaching, this can be seen from the use of the cloud as a shared archive service to access every material and upload assignments, the presence of collage music features that facilitate remote music collaboration for students, and the emergence of digital music applications, making music learning more efficient. (3) Problems or challenges that arise in online music learning are generally caused by poor internet connection. As a result, the music learning that is delivered becomes intermittent. (4) teaching quality issues and evaluation problems of online music learning can be described as follows, the uneven ability of teachers who master the features of online music learning and at the evaluation stage, the potential for cheating can certainly occur, especially with the limitations of monitoring students' activities during the learning process. (5) in general, online music learning is dominantly effective and successful, this can be traced from other supporting research.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to analyze the search trends of music genres in Indonesia in the period of 2018-2023. In this study, four popular music genres in Indonesia were used as analysis samples, namely; Islamic music, jazz music, rock music, and dangdut music. Method: The method used is a qualitative type, which acts to describe the data narrative read from the google trends tool which also functions as a data analysis instrument. Result and Discussion: The results of this research found; that (1) The search trend for dangdut was very popular in the duration of 2018-2023 beating the three other music genres, even the search trend for dangdut music dominated in almost every province in Indonesia (2) The search trend for jazz music and rock music competed fiercely in the period 2018-2023, overtaking each other in that period. (3) In terms of graphical appearance, the trend of Islamic music does not seem to increase much compared to the search trends of the other three music genres throughout the last five years (2018-2023) (4) Central Java and Lampung provinces always appear in the top five provinces in the search trends of Islamic music, jazz music, rock music, and dangdut genres. Conclusion: The conclusion obtained in this study is that the search trend for certain music genres is strongly influenced by the culture or group of people who have an attachment to it. The more the music genre can enter many groups of society, the more fans there will be and of course this will increase the search trend for the music genre on social media, as discussed in this study.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze in general the phenomenon of puppetry in Demak Regency and its relation to Lakon Carangan created by Sunan Kalijaga as a medium for Islamic preaching. The research method used in this research is a qualitative type with a triangulation validation technique. The results of this research show that Sunan Kalijaga's Lakon Carangan is not just an ordinary story, but a story that is thick with Islamic elements that have been adjusted, as a means of moral and spiritual education that reinforces Javanese Islamic identity. Therefore, the art of puppetry in Demak Regency in the modern era can indirectly contribute to the preservation and sustainable development of Islam in the community

Abstract

The traditional Javanese songs created by Sunan Kalijaga, especially Lir ilir and Kidung Rumekso ing Wengi, have tremendous philosophical depth when associated with Javanese culture. Therefore, this research aims to explore and analyze the philosophical meaning contained in the two previous songs and find out how the spiritual messages in these songs are still relevant to the state of society in the modern era. This research uses Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis to find out the deeper meaning of the text, not forgetting to also use the cultural context approach, to minimize irrelevant interpretations. For data validation, this research uses the triangulation method, where the data comes from interviews, historical records, and direct observation. In practice, the point is to explore the messages contained in the two songs, which are all sourced from the lyrics of these songs and the opinions of experts. The results show that both songs contain philosophical teachings on how to achieve wisdom and peace in every episode of human life. They also teach about the importance of establishing a good relationship with God. In addition, this study also revealed that the spiritual messages in these two songs are still relevant as a reflection of the spiritual journey of everyone in the modern era.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reveal the relationship or social and cultural influence of the Indian nation on the expression of performing arts (wayang) and dangdut music in Indonesia. The hope of this research is to increase public awareness of the identity of national performing arts and music, which is rarely realized to be heavily influenced by Indian culture. Specifically, the aspects examined in this research include changes in the content of stories from Indian epics in the adaptation of Indonesian performing arts, as well as dangdut music that adapts the energetic spirit of music and dance from India. The method used in this research is qualitative with primary data sources derived from scientific articles and books related to the research. The data validation analysis technique used in this research is triangulation. Triangulation is used as a means of comparing the amount of data, to determine its consistency and accuracy, which will be displayed in the research. The results of this study show that, the culture brought by India is not really one hundred percent imitated or copied by the Indonesian people. The author concludes that the hybridity that occurs between Indian and Indonesian culture actually forms a new innovation in the field of art itself or can also be called a new work. The Mahabharata and Ramayana stories, which were originally the source of puppetry, changed and adapted to Indonesian culture. As a result, there are many compositions of the two epics, character changes, and the emergence of new characters that do not exist in the Mahabharata and Ramayana themselves, such as the punakawan characters that are closely related to the spread of Islam in Indonesia. The same goes for dangdut, a music that was originally based on the character of Malay music from Indonesia, now transformed into a new genre called dangdut due to the influence of India, through political elements and the spread of Indian movies in the 20th century.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki serta menguraikan ilmu filsafat musik dari banyak dimensi, mulai dari pendefinisian esensinya hingga perkembangan keilmuannya sepanjang sejarah dan relevansinya di era kontemporer. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam peneltian kali ini adalah metode kualitatif, dengan ciri lebih mengedepankan pada analisis fenomena sosial budaya yang luas dan mendalam. Teori analisis data yang diaplikasikan pada penelitian ini adalah model dari Miles dan Huberman dengan konsep empat tahapan analisis data yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Adapun temuan dari peneltian ini adalah (1) filsafat musik bukan hanya sekedar analisis teoritis bentuk belaka, tetapi juga berkaitan dengan makna mendalam musik pada konteks yang lebih luas yaitu, sosial, budaya, individual maupun kelompok yang menyertainya. (2) Sejarah dari filsafat musik menggambarkan bagaimana perjalanan atau evolusi dari pemikiran tentang musik dari masa ke masa yang akhirnya memberikan pemahaman utuh terhadap fenomena musik era saat ini. (3) Pada era kontemporer analisis wacana filsafat musik condong kepada masalah-masalah seperti tren musik modern, teknologi yang menyertainya dan dampak perubahannya terhadap masyarakat global. (4) Urgensi dari mempelari filsafat musik sangat erat kaitannya pada, dihasilkannya keterbukaan wawasan mendalam tentang musik, yang pada akhirnya akan membuat siapapun yang mendalaminya akan lebih menghargai musik dan memiliki daya analisis kritis lebih pada fenomena musik di sekitar. Kata kunci: Filsafat musik, esensi, perkembangan, relevansi Philosophy of music: Understanding its essence, development, and relevance AbstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate and describe the science of music philosophy from many dimensions, from defining its essence to its scientific development throughout history and its relevance in the contemporary era. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method, characterized by prioritizing the analysis of broad and in-depth socio-cultural phenomena. The theory of data analysis applied in this research is the model of Miles and Huberman with the concept of four stages of data analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The findings of this research are (1) the philosophy of music is not just a theoretical analysis of form, but also related to the deep meaning of music in a broader context, namely, social, cultural, individual and group that accompanies it. (2) The history of the philosophy of music illustrates how the journey or evolution of thinking about music from time to time which ultimately provides a complete understanding of the phenomenon of music in the current era. (3) In the contemporary era, the analysis of music philosophy discourse leans towards issues such as modern music trends, the technology that accompanies them and the impact of their changes on global society. (4) The urgency of studying the philosophy of music is closely related to, the resulting openness to deep insight into music, which will ultimately make anyone who deepens it will appreciate music more and have more critical analysis power on the phenomenon of music around. Keywords: Philosophy of music, essence, development, relevance

Abstract

Ketokohan dan Nilai-nilai Spritualitas Ajaran Sunan Kalijaga dalam Praktik Kesenian Karawitan di Kabupaten Demak. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan adalah untuk mengungkapkan ketokohan ataupun pengaruh Nilai-nilai spritualitas ajaran Sunan Kalijaga dalam praktek kesenian di Kabupaten Demak. Hal ini penting dilakukan, mengingat telah menjamurnya tokoh-tokoh dan ajaran atau falsafah barat yang lebih besar eksis di Indonesia, seolah Indonesia tidak mempunyai tokoh yang mewariskan falsafah/ajaran tertentu. Harapannya penelitian ini, bisa menjawab ketimpangan penggunaan falsafah/ajaran barat itu khususnya dalam bidang seni.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis kualitatif. Dengan teknik pengumpalan data melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Adapun dalam analisis data, menggunakan model Miles & Huberman. Pertama, temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah, karya gending karawitan ciptaan Yusuf Sofyan pengurus Sanggar Seni Mulyo Sari Raras di Kabupaten Demak yang terinspirasi dari kisah hidup Wali sanga khususnya Sunan Kalijaga. Kedua, temuan falsafah murni Sunan Kalijaga dalam menjalani hidup bersosial maupun berkesenian yang diinformasikan oleh keturunan beliau.

Abstract

Traditional folk art is a traditional art that lives and develops in communities outside the Yogyakarta’s Palace. The form of development presented creates creativity from the supporting community, one of them is the Rampak Buto Art, which is one of the creativity in the Jatilan performing arts. Rampak Buto Art exists as a creativity in the local community which is dominated by men, seen from the performances and the various clothing attributes they use.One of creativity in the Rampak Buto performance is the creation of the Gedroex Wanodya dance. This dance was created by the Krincing Manis Dance Group, this group is existence as the only one Rampak Buto group dominated by female dancers in Yogyakarta. The Gedroex Wanodya’s dance was created by contemporary choreography so that it becomes a new form of Rampak Buto Art.This research using qualitative methods and an approach using Choreographic Analysis. In the choreography’s process, the researcher acted as a participant observer, that she went directly to the research object by acting as director of the Gedroex Wanodya’s dance work.

Abstract

Mahasiswa baru program Sarjana di Jurusan Musik umumnya menghadapi kendala dalam mengikuti kuliah gitar klasik karena sebelumnya tidak pernah mempelajari instrument tersebut secara formal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kendala apa saja yang di alami mereka dan mencari kemungkinan solusinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan informasi dari beberapa mahasiswa aktif gitar klasik yang menghadapi kendala tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini adalah informasi tentang kendala yang mereka hadapi, kemungkinan penyebabnya, dan solusi dari perspektif mahasiswa. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut diperoleh fakta bahwa seluruh responden tidak bisa membaca not balok sehingga kemandirian dalam mempelajari materi kuliah sangat minim. Guna mengatasi masalah tersebut mereka berkonsultasi kepada para senior. Masalah tersebut sedikit demi sedikit teratasi karena terbantu oleh kuliah-kuliah teori musik dan solfegio. Sebagai kesimpulan, sebenarnya tidak ada kendala yang berarti, kecuali kecemasan dalam menghadapi hal baru karena pada akhirnya dapat teratasi melalui proses adaptasi baik secara formal di dalam perkuliahan maupun di luar perkuliahan. Kata kunci: gitar klasik, perguruan tinggi seni, kendala mahasiswa AbstractNew Student Obstacles in Taking Classical Guitar Lectures at the College. New students of the Bachelor program in the Department of Music generally face obstacles in taking classical guitar courses because they have never studied the instrument formally before. The purpose of this study is to find out what obstacles they experience and find possible solutions. This study uses qualitative research methods by collecting information from several active classical guitar students who face these obstacles. The results of this study are information about the obstacles they face, possible causes, and solutions from a student's perspective. From the results of this study, it was found that all respondents could not read musical notes so independence in studying lecture material was minimal. In order to overcome this problem, they consulted the seniors. This problem was gradually resolved because lectures on music theory and solfeggio helped. In conclusion, there are actually no significant obstacles, except anxiety in dealing with new things because in the end they can be overcome through adaptation processes both formally in lectures and outside lectures. Keywords: classical guitar, art institute, student constraints
