Abstract

This study conceptualizes the perceived organizational support (POS) as a moderator to understand the mechanism of the relationship between proactive personality and turnover intention. This study proposes a different model of proactive personality as a variable that affects the turnover intention of hotel employees, which in turn is related to POS as a moderating variable. This influence model has never been studied on hotel employees, especially in Semarang. Some researchers tend to explore the influence of factors such as job satisfaction, job stress, citizenship behavior, and commitment. The effect moderation model in this study was examined using multilevel regression analysis, with an interaction test which is often called Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). By quota sampling technique, survey data collected from 200 hotel employees spread across Semarang city. The results showed that the influence of proactive personality and turnover intention was weaker when perceived organizational support was included in the interaction. These findings are consistent with existing theories and studies. The implications for management practice suggest hotel managers to consider perceived organizational support as a fairly important factor in encouraging proactive employees to minimize intention to leave their current job.

Abstract

Tourism is currently a rapidly growing sector, particularly in line with social change and technological advancements. In this context, ecotourism is becoming an increasingly popular approach because it prioritizes the principles of environmental sustainability, local cultural preservation, and improving community welfare. One innovative form of ecotourism is the development of agroforestry-based tourism, which integrates environmentally friendly agricultural and forestry practices. One concrete example of this concept is the Dawuhan Kopi area in Semarang Regency. This area has developed a coffee forest farming system as a primary tourist attraction, aiming to combine nature conservation and community economic development. This study aims to comprehensively examine how coffee agroforestry management in Dawuhan Kopi is implemented as a form of ecotourism and to analyze various optimization efforts that have been and are being implemented. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques such as field observations, in-depth interviews with stakeholders, and documentation. The results reveal that the management of the coffee agroforestry area in Dawuhan Kopi still faces various challenges, particularly in terms of institutional framework, tourism product packaging, availability of supporting facilities, and local community empowerment. To address these issues, a comprehensive improvement strategy is needed, ranging from strengthening institutional capacity, innovation in tourism packages, developing basic infrastructure, and increasing active community participation in every management process. This research is expected to make a positive contribution to the development of a sustainable agroforestry-based ecotourism model and serve as a reference for other regions with similar potential to implement the same concept adaptively and contextually.

Abstract

Sustainable waste management needs serious attention, starting from the concern about people's habits of carelessly disposing of household waste, leading to a dirty and slum environment. If this problem is not addressed, it will become a serious problem that will certainly disrupt people's lives. Facing this situation, the community proactively formed a task force to creatively deal with waste, starting from the utilization of plastic waste that accumulated in the community. This research aims to find out the implementation of plastic waste management with recycling techniques in Bank Sampah Wares, located at Widosari No. 21, RT 03, RW 04 Tegalrejo, Salatiga. This study used a qualitative field research approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature studies to explore data and understand waste disposal stakeholders, and their participation to help solve waste problems. The results showed that along with the development of science and technology, the Bank Sampah Wares community implemented a plastic waste processing process using recycling techniques by developing plastic waste into unique and modern handmade products. The handmade product can then be utilized to increase economic value. Besides that, the waste processing site can also be used as a place to foster creativity without requiring high costs by utilizing processed plastic into creative products. This research should be conducted to show that waste bank goods have a strategic role in educating changes in the behavior of residents of the environment in utilizing of waste.
