Abstract

Development of rural areas is one of the targets in achieving national development. Industry is a way to accelerate rural development in an effort to improve the living standards of the community, one of them is through a local wisdom-based industry, the Halaban Songket industry. This industry is believed to have great potential for the economy in Nagari Halaban. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the Halaban Songket home industry and the pattern of relations between entrepreneurs and craftsmen in the Halaban Songket Home Industry, and the role of the Halaban Songket industry as an alternative source of household income. This research was conducted with quantitative methods, namely surveys supported by qualitative data. 35 respondents were chosen randomly by multistage sampling method. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of the Halaban Songket industry as a handicraft industry carried out by almost 70 percent of women in Nagari Halaban with an average age of craftsmen is 37 years and the level of junior high school education. Craftsmen and entrepreneurs form patron-client patterns in work relations and social relations activities. As well as the Halaban Songket Industry contributed 55.34 percent to the income of songket craftsmen households.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Mendeskripsikan karakteristik konsumen kedai kopi Nan yo, (2) Mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi konsumen dalam mengkonsumsi di kedai kopi Nan Yo Kota Padang.. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode survei, dengan responden yang digunakan adalah konsumen kedai Kopi Nan Yo, dan konusmen yang tidak memilih kedai Kopi Nan Yo. Analisis  data menggunakan metode regresi logistik dengan dibantu dengan program statistik SPSS 21.0. 1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik umum dari konsumen kedai kopi Nan Yo didominasi oleh responden berjenis kelamin laki-laki, dengan usia 44-50 tahun. Pendidikan terakhir dari responden mayoritas adalah strata 1, dengan pendapatan perbulan sebesar 3.000.000.- Rp,4.000.000. Mayoritas konsumen kedai kopi Nan Yo sudah berkeluarga dan memiliki 4-5 orang anggota keluarga.Sedangkan karakteristik khusus dari konsumen kedai kopi Nan Yo adalah menghabiskan waktu lebih dari 1 jam di  kedai kopi Nan Yo, mayoritas konsumen datang sekali dalam sebulan, dengan sekali pengeluaran dalam membeli adalah dibawah Rp.20.000.  Menurut konsumen, harga yang di tawarkan di kedai kopi Nan Yo adalah pas/sesuai. Mayoritas responden sudah datang ke kedai kopi Nan Yo lebih dari 10 tahun, dan mau untuk merekomendasikan kedai kopi Nan Yo ke teman atau keluarganya. Faktor yang mempengaruhi konsumen dalam keputusan memilih atau tidak kedai kopi Nan Yo adalah faktor Psikologi, dan faktor produk, Nilai signifikasi dari faktor psikologi adalah 0,000, dan nilai signifikasi dari faktor produk adalah 0,002. Sedangkan faktor kebudayaan, sosial, dan pribadi tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keputusan pemilihan kedai kopi Nan Yo.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan biaya penanaman dan pendapatan petani jagung hibrida yang menggunakan Hand Corn Planter dibandingkan dengan metode tanam manual. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Nagari Lubuk Gadang, Kecamatan Sangir, Kabupaten Solok Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan survey. Sampel diambil melalui Simple Random Sampling yang terdiri dari 30 petani masing-masing metode tanam. Analisis yang dilakukan mencakup analisis anggaran parsial untuk memahami dampak perbedaan metode tanam dan analisis usahatani untuk mengetahui pendapatan dan keuntungan yang diterima petani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani tanam manual memerlukan lebih banyak waktu dan tenaga kerja saat penanaman, sehingga biaya yang dikeluarkan petani lebih tinggi dibandingkan petani yang menggunakan Hand Corn Planter. Selisih biaya penanaman antara petani Hand Corn Planter dengan petani tanam manual adalah sebesar Rp. 1.215.152/Ha/MT artinya dengan menggunakan Hand Corn Planter akan mengurangi biaya penanaman sebesar Rp. 1.215.152/Ha/MT. Pendapatan petani yang menggunakan Hand Corn Planter sebesar Rp. 22.8011.498/Ha/MT dengan  keuntungan sebesar Rp. 7.581.930/Ha/MT sementara petani tanam manual menerima pendapatan sebesar Rp. 20.679.245/Ha/MT dan keuntungan sebesar Rp. 5.942.325/Ha/MT. Uji z-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan dalam biaya penanaman, pendapatan dan keuntungan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian penggunaan Hand Corn Planter mengurangi biaya penanaman dan menghasilkan keuntungan yang lebih tinggi untuk petani.

Abstract

Agricultural extension acts as agents of change directly related to farmers. Likewise, the role of agricultural extension in Tanah Datar District is in the salibu extension program, so this study aims to describe the role of agricultural extension in salibu cultivation in Tanah Datar District. The research was conducted from August to October 2018 in Tanah Datar District, West Sumatera. This type of research was descriptive research that was designed qualitatively, where the method used was focus group discussion (FGD). The data source was selected purposively (intentionally) consisting of 17 agricultural extension workers in Tanah Datar District, which consisted of district extension agents, coordinator extension, and agricultural extension agents. The results showed that the role of agricultural extension in the salibu cultivation in Tanah Datar was as a motivator for farmers in conducting salibu cultivation. Extensions became counselors and agents of rice transfer technology so that farmers became aware, willing, capable, and skilled in conducting millet rice cultivation. Extensions convey the advantages of salibu, carry out demonstration plots, conduct guidance and provide training activities through field schools, as well as mentoring maintenance untill harvest.

Abstract

AbstrakPetani cabai Nagari Tabek Patah memiliki beberapa kendala yang dihadapi petani seperti masih rendahnya penerapan pengelolaan sarana alat mesin pertanian oleh petani, faktor cuaca dan iklim yang cukup ekstrim serta tingginya serangan hama dan penyakit pada tanaman cabai. Hal ini menjadikan produktivitas cabai merah memiliki banyak risiko dalam produktivitas usahatani cabai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sumber-sumber risiko, tingkat risiko dan manajemen risiko produksi cabai merah untuk mengatasi risiko produksi cabai merah di Nagari Tabek Patah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dengan sampel sebanyak 31 responden yang dipilih menggunakan Teknik Proporsionated Random Sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga sumber risiko pada usahatani cabai merah di Nagari Tabek Patah yaitu risiko sosial, risiko fisik, dan risiko ekonomi. Berdasarkan perhitungan analisis tingkat risiko produksi cabai merah yang dihitung menggunakan koefisien variasi adalah 0,14 artinya tingkat risiko produksi cabai merah tergolong rendah dan terhidar dari kerugian. Manajemen risiko yang dilakukan petani cabai merah di Nagari Tabek Patah dengan metode pengendalian risiko (risk control) seperti mengatur pola tanam, tidak menanam tanaman yang sefamili dengan cabai, menanam 2-3 benih cabai pada satu lobang tanam, membiarkan gulma dipinggir bedengan, mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan, dan penyortiran buah cabai serta melakukan diversifikasi dan pembiayaan risiko (risk financing) dengan metode penanggungan risiko (risk retention) dengan cara pengendalian hama penyakit secara kimiawi.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyzed the factors that affect the rice production, and to determine the level of production efficiency of rice with jajar legowo method on SRI in Nagari Situjuah Gadang. The study was conducted with survey method on 30 samples taken by proporsionate purposive sampling. The data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis and production efficiency analysis of Cobb-Douglass. The results showed that the use of factors of production of seeds, organic fertilizer, inorganic fertilizer and labor impact together on rice production with a calculated F value of 52.387. Partially, the use of each factor of production have a significant effect on rice production. The results of production efficiency analysis showed that the production process is already technically efficient with a value TER 0,97. The use of factors of production of seed, fertilizer organic and inorganic fertilizer are not economically efficient, and the use of production factor of labor is economically inefficient. Scale rice farming is at a level increasing returns to scale so that the level of optimum use of production factors can not be determined. To increase production, farmers should use as much as 1-3 seeds per planting hole; pay attention to the rules of the use of balanced fertilizer; increase the amount of organic fertilizer use; and reduce the use of labor at harvest.

Abstract

Indigenous institutions that have been existing within the community for hundreds of years ago can contribute to effective natural resources management, especially by encouraging farmers' participation in irrigation activities. However, due to a new institution introduced by the Indonesian government, such as the water users' Associations ("P3A" in Bahasa), institutional problems, such as low participation from farmers in irrigation activities, have occurred in some regions where the traditional institution has been disappearing from irrigation management. Nevertheless, some communities appropriately manage the irrigation system by integrating traditional institutions into the current irrigation system. This study aims to re-assess the importance of the traditional institution in managing irrigation systems in West Sumatra. The qualitative method was used to collect data in Agam district from January 2022 to August 2022. Two P3As (P3A Karya Mandiri dan P3A Jorong Biaro) were selected to evaluate the traditional institution in irrigation management. This study found that matrilineal land ownership (ulayat kaum in Minangkabau language) can ensure irrigation water supply for each system and the continuity of rice farming. Furthermore, mufakat (deliberation to reach consensus) in determining irrigation management can encourage farmers' participation in irrigation activities and avoid conflict over water, especially during the dry condition. To re-implement indigenous institution in irrigation management, collaborative action must be performed to create mutual understanding regarding indigenous institutions between farmers and policy makers.

Abstract

Natural objects in Mungka District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency have great potential to become tourist objects that need to be developed, one of which is the Burai Waterfall Ecotourism. Burai Waterfall is still very natural and has not been touched much and has not been contaminated by non-natural materials, this allows this natural object to be developed as an ecotourism object, so that its natural conditions can be maintained. The current problem faced is that in its development efforts it is necessary to get support from the relevant local government and great support from the local community. The purpose of this activity is to create sectoral support and synergy for local government that can support the sustainability of Burai Waterfall ecotourism. The method used is the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in gathering input from the relevant local governments. From the results of the FGD activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the development of waterfall ecotourism can be carried out and has the support of all relevant stakeholders. Local communities must be able to increase their participation in this ecotourism development effort. Apart from that, support and cooperation are important with the Disaster Management Agency because this service needs to assess in advance how the circumstances and conditions are likely to occur in this ecotourism development area.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was aimed to asses the quality of food consumption and analyze the associated factors to improve the quality of food consumption of Riau Province, the food deficit region. A descriptive analytical study method was applied; and the data used in this research was secondary data. Descriptive and multiple regression analysis were applied for this study. The results showed that the food consumption quality was low which was dominated by food derived from grains, oils and fats and sugar. Food availability quality, income percapita, and food prices were not significantly associated with the food consumption quality. The strategies to improve the quality of food consumption are through developing a better institutions for food processing and marketing in rural in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of food distribution, and the value-added; increasing people knowledge on food and nutrition.Keywords: deficit region, food quality, food security, nutrition educationABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menilai kualitas konsumsi pangan penduduk daerah defisit pangan Provinsi Riau dan menganalisis faktor yang memengaruhinya. Pendekatan penelitian adalah deskriptif analitis. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder dan uji yang digunakan adalah regresi berganda. Hasil kajian menunjukkan kualitas konsumsi pangan penduduk belum baik, karena masih didominasi oleh konsumsi pangan yang berasal dari kelompok padi-padian, minyak dan lemak serta gula. Ketersediaan pangan, pendapatan per kapita penduduk, harga pangan secara bersama-sama tidak memengaruhi secara signifikan terhadap kualitas konsumsi pangan penduduk. Peningkatan kualitas konsumsi pangan penduduk di daerah defisit pangan dapat dilakukan antara lain dengan mengembangkan kelembagaan pengolahan dan pemasaran di perdesaan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas distribusi pangan dan peningkatan pengetahuan pangan dan gizi masyarakat yang berkelanjutan.Kata kunci: daerah defisit, ketahanan pangan, kualitas pangan, pendidikan gizi
