Abstract

Diversity of medicinal plants in Indonesia around ± 1,040 species from seed plants. Now, the existing of many species of medicinal plants decrease. Traditional medicinal plants in Indonesia play a crucial role, particularly for those living in rural areas where access to healthcare facilities is still very limited. Dongi-dongi forest area has a variety of diversity of pls including medicinal plants. The purpose is knowing the diversity of medicinal plant species around Lake Tauji Ngata Katavua Dongi-dongi. This research has been conducted around 2 months starting from March to May 2023, using the exploratory survey by conducting a path transect. This method in which the observation follows the direction and location of the transect center line along the path of the research path which is paired with a discontinuous plot. The results showed 10 species including 104 individuals from 8 medicinal plants families, with the highest INP value is the Sintrong type (Crassocep halum Crepidiodes) with a value approximately 72.38% while the lowest INP value is the Legetan type (Acmella Oleraceae) with a value approximately 7.28%. Overall diversity index of medicinal plant species was found to be H' 2.21 included in the medium category.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the Kawatuna Sub-watershed with the aim of studying the physical properties of the soil and knowing the infiltration rate of several land uses in the Kawatuna Sub-watershed. This study used the Horton equation formula and took soil samples for analysis at the Laboratory of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. The results showed that the physical properties of the soil greatly influenced the infiltration process, the highest organic matter was secondary soil 6.10%, dry land agriculture 4.50% and the lowest was shrubs 3.04%. Secondary forest soil textures are loam and dusty loam, dry land agriculture has sandy loam textures, and shrubs have loamy, sandy loam and dusty loam textures. In terms of physical properties of water content, dry land agriculture had the highest water content 21.48%, secondary forest 19.19% and shrubs the lowest 15.54%. The highest infiltration rate was secondary forest land (12.74 cm/hour) with fast criteria, dry land agriculture (7.80 cm/hour) medium fast category and shrub land (6.19 cm/hour) medium category.

Abstract

The Sintuwu Maroso KPH area, which is located in Bomba Village, South Lore District, has quite high biodiversity, one of which is butterflies. Butterflies are insects that belong to the order Lepidoptera. Butterflies play an important role in the ecosystem and maintain balance and enrich natural biodiversity. These insects are also important in agriculture, art, culture and human civilization. The Sintuwu Maroso KPH area, Bomba Village, South Lore District, Poso Regency, is a primary forest with maintained sustainability. Primary forest is a good place for butterfly habitat, so it is necessary to protect these butterflies. And research on these butterflies in the Sintuwu Maroso KPH area is still rare, as butterflies play an important role in plant pollination. Therefore, it is necessary to research the diversity of butterfly types.  This research was carried out for 2 (two) months from October 2023 to November 2023, which took place in the KPH Sintuwu Maroso area, Bomba Village, South Lore District, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi. Data collection and the number of individual types of butterflies used the Point Count method with eleven points. Data analysis used in the research is: species diversity index, species richness index, and species evenness index.
