Abstract

This research highlights the importance of the Arabic lexicon in teaching and studying ta’bîr courses in Ma’had al-Imarat Bandung. This qualitative research depends on a field study and a descriptive analysis. This importance is due to three aspects: The first is the ta’bîr courses of materials prescribed in any Arabic language learning institutes to develop students’ four skills. The second is that lexicons are tools for teaching and learning the Arabic language, especially in the subject matter of ta’bîr. The third is that the Arabic lexicon is one of the primary sources people refer to correct their linguistic knowledge. The results indicate that language acquisition is the most important of that knowledge. Furthermore, in acquiring the Arabic language, many factors are linguistic and non-linguistic. Dictionaries are considered one of the primary tools in language acquisition in studying the subject matter of ta’bîr.

Abstract

Abstract: Ilm al-Aṣwāt, the study of Arabic phonetics and phonology, plays a crucial role in enhancing both fluency and accuracy in spoken communication. This article aims to explore the role of phonetic knowledge in understanding intonation and pause (waqf) in Arabic sentences and its contribution to the development of learners’ communicative competence. Using a literature review approach, this study analyzes recent scholarly works on how intonation distinguishes sentence types (declarative, interrogative, imperative, and prohibitive), and how strategic pauses influence meaning especially within the Qur’anic context. The findings suggest that proper control of intonation and pausing not only strengthens sentence structure but also directly affects meaning, nuance, and message clarity in Arabic discourse. Therefore, integrating the science of aṣwāt into Arabic language instruction is essential to support the formation of comprehensive speaking skills. This study recommends that aṣwāt be taught not merely as a technical discipline but as a pragmatic strategy for developing both linguistic and sociolinguistic competence among learners.

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using Arabic children's song media in improving mastery and memorization of mufradat in class VI MI Ar-rosyidiyah Cibiru, Bandung. The research method used is qualitative. The research subjects were 23 students. Data was collected through mufradat mastery tests before and after implementing classroom action research. The research followed a procedure consisting of four stages, including the planning stage, implementation stage, observation stage and reflection stage, showing that using Arabic children's song media can improve mufradat (vocabulary) memorization for class VI MI Ar-Rosyidiyah students. The results of the research showed that there was a significant increase in students' mastery of mufradat. Apart from that, the use of children's songs in Arabic can also increase students' interest in learning and motivation in learning Arabic.
