Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics, feasibility, and effectiveness of the E-module of additives and addictive substances based on problem-based learning in order to improve students' ability to think critically. The type of research used is development research, which refers to the Borg and Gall development model which is modified and adapted to conditions in the field into 9 stages, namely: 1) needs analysis and information gathering, 2) potential problems in the field, 3) product design, 4) design validation, 5) product design improvement, 6) limited trial, 7) product revision, 8) operational field test, 9) E-module final product. The data analysis technique used is a descriptive analysis which is used to describe the characteristics of the developed E-module, the feasibility analysis of the E-module is based on the N-gain score obtained, the results of this study found that the problem-based learning-based E-module has been successful developed according to the problem-based learning model to improve the ability of students to think critically. Problem-based learning-based E-modules are very feasible to be used in the process of learning activities in order to improve students' critical thinking skills. E-module of additives and addictive substances based on problem-based learning has been effective in improving the ability of students to think critically which is marked by an increase in students' pretest and posttest scores, and based on the average result of the N gain score of 0.76 which is included in the very decent category

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 mendasari pemerintah mengeluarkan kebijakan Belajar Dari Rumah (BDR) yang mendesak institusi penyelenggara pendidikan untuk mengubah pengelolaan pembelajarannya secara online. Pasca Covid-19, model pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan dengan pembelajaran online, seperti pembelajaran hybrid (campuran), masih banyak diminati karena keuntungan yang tidak dibatasi tempat dan waktu. Namun beberapa permasalahan muncul selama pelaksanaannya, diantaranya pembelajaran yang kurang interaktif dan belum terstruktur. Hal ini dikarenakan belum tersedianya platform yang tepat dan kurangnya kemampuan guru dalam mengelola kelas pembelajaran online. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya upaya peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam pengelolaan pembelajaran online berupa pendampingan peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan kualitas pembelajaran dan media pembelajaran online yang tepat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini melibatkan 2 sekolah mitra di Kota Surakarta, diantaranya SMP IT Nur Hidayah dan SMP Batik Program Khusus Surakarta. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini diantaranya 1) memberikan pemahaman kepada guru terhadap pembelajaran dan media pembelajaran yang dapat diintegrasikan secara online, 2) melatih guru dalam mengembangkan kemampuan pengelolaan kelas berbasis Moodle, dan 3) meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun media pembelajara online. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan berupa ceramah, diskusi, dan praktik yang dilakukan selama 3 hari dan dihadiri peserta 10 peserta dari SMP Batik Program Khusus dan SMP IT Nur Hidayah. Hasil evaluasi pasca pendampingan didapatkan bahwa 1) 100% guru telah memiliki akun sebagai Teacher di web belajarsains-uns.com, 2) 80% guru telah melengkapi 10 aktivitas yang diinstruksikan, dan 3) umpan balik yang baik. Melalui website yang dibuat, selain mendapatkan pemahaman baru, guru dapat memanfaatkannya selama pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring, luring, dan hybrid.

Abstract

As a branch of fundamental science, physics studies the laws underlying physical events that happen in nature. To learn physics, laboratory activity is necessarily involved, and it requires supporting devices to observe and study phenomena that are physically abstract, such as heat transfer mechanisms. This research aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT) experiment device for heat transfer using NodeMCU and describe its working principle and measurement result. It involved NodeMCU, MAX6675 sensor, and LCD 1602 as the main components. The procedures carried out in this research included planning, developing, testing, data collecting, data analyzing, and reporting. Multiple measurements were carried out to analyze the standard error value of the device. The standard error values of both thermocouples used in the device were 1,336104 for the first thermocouple and 0,754315 for the second. Additionally, the IoT device’s thermocouple readings were calibrated using the linear regression method and the validation experiment showed that the calibration has increased its accuracy value.

Abstract

Sumber belajar menjadi bagian penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Penyampaian sumber belajar dari dosen pengampu kepada mahasiswa dapat dilakukan dengan penyampaian informasi sumber pustaka, file pustaka, atau tautan (link) pustaka. Penyampaian informasi sumber pustaka yang digunakan dalam kuliah dapat disampaikan dalam pertemuan luring dan penyampaian sumber pustaka berupa file dan tautan pustaka disampaikan dalam laman SPADA Universitas Veteran Bangun Nusantara, yaitu https://spada.univetbantara.ac.id. Pada akses laman tanggal 6 Juni 2023 diperoleh informasi jumlah kelas (course) sebanyak 147, yaitu 81 course pada Program Studi Teknik Sipil, 62 course pada Program Studi Teknik Industri, dan 4 course dalam menu Fakultas Teknik dan ujian akhir semeter 2020-2021. Kata kunci: SPADA, sumber belajar, UNS, Univet

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan alat peraga asas kontinuitas dengan sensor waterflow untuk siswa SMA yang memenuhi kriteria baik, (2) menjelaskan spesifikasi alat peraga asas kontinuitas dengan sensor waterflow untuk siswa SMA yang telah dikembangkan. Metode penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D yang hanya dilakukan hingga tahap ketiga (tahap pengembangan). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) penelitian ini telah berhasil mengembangkan alat peraga fisika menggunakan sensor waterflow pada materi asas kontinuitas untuk siswa SMA kelas XI yang memenuhi kriteria sangat baik, dengan rata-rata penilaian validasi 89% dan uji coba lapang 91%, (2) spesifikasi alat peraga yang dikembangkan antara lain: (a) memiliki ukuran sebelum dirangkai (48*30*28) cm dan ukuran (90* 30*70) cm setelah dirangkai, (b) menggunakan bahan yang aman bagi peserta didik, (c) alat peraga menggunakan 2 buah sensor waterflow YF-S201 serta venturimeter dengan 2 jenis luas pipa penampang, (d) berguna untuk pembuktian asas kontinuitas berdasarkan pengukuran debit air oleh waterflow sensor dan dilengkapi dengan venturimeter, (e) alat peraga ini ditujukan sebagai pendukung pembelajaran dalam rangka memperoleh pengalaman belajar langsung pada materi asas kontinuitas Fisika SMA kelas XI.

Abstract

This community service program aims to support junior high school science teachers across Pacitan Regency in developing instructional tools grounded in deep learning principles. The program adopted a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach implemented through systematic training and mentoring activities involving 74 science teachers. The activities were organized into two main sessions. The first session focused on enhancing teachers’ conceptual understanding and providing practical guidance in designing deep learning–oriented instructional tools. During this stage, participants developed initial drafts that emphasized higher-order thinking skills, inquiry-based learning strategies, and the integration of digital media. The second session consisted of collaborative evaluation and refinement of the drafts through feedback from facilitators and fellow participants. The evaluation process employed facilitator assessment instruments to examine the alignment of the instructional tools with deep learning principles, along with participant questionnaires to document teachers’ perceptions and learning experiences. Quantitative data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative feedback from facilitators and participants was examined to support the interpretation of the findings. As a result, each participant produced a finalized deep learning–based instructional tool tailored to the specific needs of their classroom context. The findings indicate that 95.67% of participants rated the program as very good, and 93.4% reported an increased understanding of deep learning concepts. To ensure the sustainability of the program outcomes, all finalized instructional tools will be compiled into a single volume and submitted for ISBN registration. Overall, this initiative enhanced teachers’ pedagogical and technological competencies and provides a replicable model of professional development for other science education contexts.

Abstract

The main challenge in physics education is the assumption by students that the material is difficult and abstract, and this is exacerbated by the threat of globalization to the preservation of local wisdom. The purpose of this study is to describe the needs analysis for the development of an electronic module on temperature and heat based on ethnoscience (Batik bomba) of the Kaili tribe culture for 11th grade MIPA students. The research used the 4D Research and Development (R&D) model. This research was in the define stage and used descriptive data analysis techniques. The research was conducted as a survey, with data collected through a needs analysis questionnaire for physics teachers and 38 grade XI high school students in Central Sulawesi. The results show that 100% of teachers need more interesting and contextual teaching materials, while 50% experience difficulties in developing independent modules. From the students' perspective, 88% want to learn the application of physics in real life, and 85% are motivated by examples of applications in local culture. The identified needs include: (1) the development of ethnoscience modules that integrate the local culture of Kaili (Bomba Batik Weaving), (2) the strengthening of practical learning, and (3) the availability of digital learning resources (e-modules). Based on these findings, the development of Kaili Ethnic Science electronic modules is urgently needed as a solution to overcome teaching obstacles while fostering positive attitudes and appreciation for local culture.
