Abstract

The isolation of flavonoid substance from Meniran has been performed. Of 100 grams of Meniran’s dried powder, 4.286 grams (4.286%) of thick extract, 1.76 grams of n-hexane fraction, 1.91 grams of CHCl3 fraction, 1.8 grams ofethyl acetate fraction, 2.12 grams of butanol fraction and 24.86 grams of residual fraction has been derived. After preparative chromatography,which is to isolate flavonoid, had been performed, it acquired four blotches which were marked as A,B,C and D. And afterwards it was evaporated which resulted 26.9 mg of flavonoid A, 30.4 mg of flavonoid B, 34.6 mg of flavonoid C and 35.4 mg of flavonoid D. Characterization was focused on flavonoid C as it has the highest antioxidant activities which was recognized from its high inhibition persentage which was attained following a DPPH test. flavonoid C is amorf, yellow coloured, and dissipated at 161.8o – 163.2o C. Based on UV spectrum with slide reactor and infrared spectrum, it was assumed that flavonoid C is an aglicone isoflavone which has an –OH on the 5th position and an o-diOH in ring A (6.7 or 7.8).

Abstract

Influence of type of extracting solvent on determination of phenolic compound level and antioxidant activities of Guava Leaf (Psidium Guajava, L.) have been done. The determination of phenolic compound by using Folin-Ciocalteau method and Antioxidant activities by using DPPH method that Gallic Acid was used as reference and determination of phenolic compound and antioxidant activities by using UV-Visible spectrophotometry. The content of phenolic compound from methanol:water extract; ethanol:water extract; aceton:water extract are 82.2699; 81.4762 and 80.9206 mg/g respectively. The finding showed that methanol: water solvent is the best solvent for Phenolat extract compare with ethanol:water and aceton:water. Antioxidant activities from methanol:water extract: ethanol:water ; aceton:water are IC50 3.694; 8.249 and 4.968 mg/mL respectively. From the data can get conclusion that methanol:water is the best solvent for extracting Guava Leaf (Psidium Guajava, L.).

Abstract

The research on preparation and characterization of dried leaves extract of simplicia jati belanda (Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk.) has been done. The dry extract is made by adding various ratio of lactose, which is the ratio of the extract and drying with lactose 1x viscous extract, 1½ x  viscous extract and extract thick 2x viscous extract. Levels of water soluble compounds the highest value on the dry extract 1:2 was 22.6% ± 0.3434%, while the levels of ethanol soluble compounds the highest value on the dry extract 1:1 was 6.6406% ± 0.2785%, and the highest value content of flavonoids in the dry extract was 1:1 was 1.0047% ± 0.0031%.

Abstract

Effect of drying method in gaining of extractive, phenolic content and antioxidant activity from Phyllanthus niruri (Linn.) leaves have been investigated by UV-Visible spectrofotometric. The drying method tested were air-drying, microwave drying and oven drying at 400C. The determination of phenolics compounds was carried out accourding to Folin Ciocalteau method and antioxidant activity was evaluated by DPPH as oxidant and gallic acid as reference. The determination of extractive compounds showed that the air-drying, microwave drying and oven drying at 40 0C countained 17.54 %; 11.84 %; 14.22 % with the water content 8.2%; 6.6%; 6.7%. The phenolic compounds 2,63900 %; 2,24585 %; 2,28095 %. Then IC50 of the sample were 0.49 mg/mL, 0.51 mg/mL, 0.53 mg/mL respectively.

Abstract

Development and validation of analysis methods of furosemide tablet have been done by absorbance method and area under the curve methods using ultraviolet spectrophotometry. Linearity of pure furosemide was obtained with range concentration 8 - 18 ppm. Coefficient correlations absorbance and area under curve methods were 0.99999 and 0.99725 respectively. The percentage of stated content were determined, which were compared with Gralixa Furosemide tablets and generic furosemid tablets. The results showed that the percentage of stated content from Gralixa tablet with absorbance and the area under curve methods were 99,33 % ± 0,004 and 98,44 % ± 0,003 and the recovery were 98,75 % and 97,88 % respectively. While the research results showed that the percentage of stated content from generic furosemide tablets with absorbance and area under curve methods were 98,42 % ± 0,005 and 97,78 % ± 0,008 and the recovery were 98,61 % and 95,06 %. Statistical analysis proves that the method is reproducible and selective for the analysis of furosemide.

Abstract

Effects of drying methods in gaining of extracted material, phenolic content, and antioxidant activity in Psidii folium leaves have been investigated. The drying methods tested were air-drying, microwave oven-drying, and oven-drying at 60ºC. The determination of extracted material compound showed that the air-drying, microwave oven-drying, and oven-drying at 60ºC contained 184,767; 333,767; and 208,533 mg/g, phenolic of these sample were  46,0474; 53,8402; and 51,4532 mg/g, and IC50 of these sample were 0,529; 0,477; and 0,505 mg/mL. Among the drying methods tested, the highest extracted material, phenolic concentration, and antioxidant activity were by microwave oven-drying.

Abstract

The research on preparation and characterization dried extract of bay leaves (Syzigium polyanthum (Wight) Walp.) has been done. The dry extract is made by adding various ratio of lactose, which is the ratio of the extract and drying with lactose ½x heavy viscous extract (F1), lactose 1x heavy viscous extract (F2), 1½ x heavy viscous extract (F3) and lactose 2x heavy viscous extract  heavy  (F4). Dried extract mode with F4 has better characteristics than the other formulas. The name of the extract is Extractum Syzigium polyanthum (Wight) Walp. Siccum. The extract was in the form of dry powder, light green, odor like bay leaves with a bitter flavor. Levels of water soluble extract was 80.4343% ± 3.5790%, while levels of ethanol soluble extract 26.3056% ± 3.1693%, flavonoid levels of the dried extract was 0.4198% ± 0.2767%.

Abstract

Flavonoid compounds have been isolated from guajava leaf from 100 grams of dried samples of guava leaf  were obtained liquid extract 130 mL, n-hexane fraction as much as 1.65 g, 1.95 g of chloroform fraction, fraction of 1.87 g ethyl acetate, butanol fraction of 2.15 g, and the remaining fraction as much as 28.96 g and flavonoid A as much as 36.9 mg. Flavonoid A is a yellow amorph form and decompose at a temperature of 190-192 C. Based on ultraviolet spectrum with various reagents shear and infrared spectrum, these compounds are known as flavonol-3-O-diglukosida. Flavonoids A provide antioxidant activity with the percent inhibition of 85.364% ± 0.2073%, while the flavonoid B 68.160%, ± 0.2073.

Abstract

The effect of drying methods on gaining of phenolic content and antioxidant activity of Phyllanthus niruri herbs have been investigated. The phenolic content was determined by using Folin-Ciocalteu method and antioxidant activity was determined by DPPH method. Result of this investigation showed that phenolic content of fresh, air drying, 400C oven drying, and 600C oven drying were 4.965 mg/g; 0.972 mg/g; 2.022 mg/g and 1.625 mg/g, respectively. IC50 of these sample were 0.445 mg/mL; 4.030 mg/mL; 0.697 mg/mL and 1.875 mg/mL.

Abstract

Ramuan herba sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata (Burm.F.)Nees) digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional sebagai obat penurun panas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif senyawa yang terkandung dalam ramuan obat tradisional Herba Sambiloto. Uji metabolit sekunder dilakukan dengan menggunakan reaksi perubahan warna dan penetapan kadar menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Uji kualitatif menunjukkan bahwa ramuan Herba Sambiloto mengandung senyawa alkaloid dan flavonoid. Hasil uji kuantitatif menunjukkan Herba Sambiloto mengandung kadar alkaloid sebesar 9,2532 % dan kadar flavonoid sebesar 1,686 %.
