Abstract

Piriformis syndrome is a reversible compression of sciatic nerve by piriformis muscle. This condition can cause deep and intense pain in the buttocks, hip, and sciatica, with radiation of pain towards the thighs, legs, feet and toes, painful symptoms in the buttocks, especially in the piriformis muscle area, increased pain after sitting in time 15-20 minutes, sometimes with difficulty walking, and pain during internal hip rotation. Factors that influence the primary andsecondaryfactors.To determine the effect of physiotherapy management in reducing pain, spasm, increased muscle strength, and functional activity in the right cerebral palsy syndrome condition using the tens, friction, and exercise modalities.Keywords: right piriformis syndrome, tens, friction and exercise therapy

Abstract

Background : Supraspinatus Tendinitis is inflammation of the supraspinatus tendon due to repeated friction of the tendon for a long time. Supraspinatus Tendinitis occurs at the age of 30-70 years, 20% to 33% in the adult population. The problem of physiotherapy in the case of Supraspinatus Tendinitis is the presence of muscle spasm, tenderness and motion pain, limitation of LGS, decreased muscle strength and decreased functional activity. In the case of Supraspinatus Tendinitis the modalities used are Ultrasound, TENS and Exercise Therapy.Objective : To determine the effect of Ultrasound, TENS and Exercise TherapyMethod : Research with descriptive analytical method. The method of collecting data uses the Autoanamnesis method. The research design used was a case study. The subjects of this study were patients with Supraspinatus Tendinitis using research instruments to examine spasm, pain, muscle strength, scope motion of joint (LGS), and functional activity.Results : From the therapy 6 times the results were obtained: (1) There was a decrease in muscle spasm at T1 = 1 to T6 = 0, (2) There was a decrease in tenderness at T1 = 6 to T6 = 2, and motion T1 = 6 to T6 = 3 , (3) There is an increase in muscle strength T1 = 4 to T6 = 5, (4) There is an increase in LGSactive flexion movement T1 = 105º to T6 = 120º, in abduction T1 = 90º to T6 = 120º, and LGS passive to flexion motion T1 = 135º becomes T6 = 145º, and in abduction T1 = 115º becomes T6 = 130º, (4) There is an increase in functional activity with a total score of T1 = 60 (moderate dependence) to T6 = 33 (mild dependence).Conclusion : Physiotherapy with Ultrasound, TENS and Exercise Therapy Interventions can reduce the problems that arise in the condition of Supraspinatus Tendinitis.Suggestion : Know more deeply about the condition of Supraspinatus Tendinitis

Abstract

Background: Lumbar spondylosis is a degenerative disease of the vertebral corpus or intervertebral disc. The problem of physiotherapy that arises in low back pain is pain, decreased muscle strength, limited range of joint motion, decreased functional activity. Pain check with VAS (Visual Analogue Scale), muscle strength with MMT (Manual Muscle Testing), joint motion range with midline functional activity with oswestry index. In this case the technology chosen to solve this problem is the modality of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and back excercise.      Objective: To determine the effect of Physiotherapy Management on Low Back Pain ec Spondylosis with Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) modalities and exercise therapy.Method: This study was conducted at the RSO Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta with a descriptive analytical method to find out assessments and changes that can be known to use VAS instruments to examine pain, MMT to check muscle strength, midline to measure LGS, Oswestry to assess functional activity.Results: After 4 times the therapy was obtained, (1) There was a decrease in silent pain T1 = 3 at T4 = 2, tenderness T1 = 5 at T4 = 4, motion pain T1 = 6 at T4 = 5. (2) There is an increase in flexor muscle strength T1 = 4 at T4 = 5, the right lateral flexor muscle T1 = 3 at T4 = 4. (3) There is an increase in LGS with flexion difference T1 = 8 at T4 = 9, extension T1 = 4 T4 = 5, lateral flexion of the T1 = 12 T4 = 14. (4) There is an increase in functional activity from T1 = 60% T4 = 42.Conclusion: Physiotherapy inpatients with modalities and exercise therapy can reduce the problems that arise in the condition of Low Back Pain Spondilosys.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a joint disease that is most commonly found in the community between the ages of 45-64 years, the incidence reached 30% and the percentage increase in age over age 65 years, reaching 63% -85%.To determine the implementation of physiotherapy in reducing pain and oudema, increase muscle strength and improve LGS mm hamstring and quadriceps, improving the ability of functional activity in the left genu condition osteoarthritis grade II with micro wave diatermy modalities and therapeutic exercise with method 1 RM (one repitisi maximum).After treatment for 6 times in getting the results of the reduction of pain and reduction oudema on the left genu condition osteoarthritis grade II, an increase in muscle strength mm mm hamstring and quadriceps, as well as an increase in the ability of the patient's functional activity.Micro wave diatermy can reduce pain and osteoarthritis genu oudema on condition of grade II, and exercise therapy with 1 RM method can improve muscle strength and hamstring mm mm quadriceps on genu grade II osteoarthritis conditions, and can improve the functional activity of the condition osteoarthritis genu grade II.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine differences in the effect of back exercises to increase fleksibilitas of the spine, the lower back pain and spinal fleksibilitas, and to investigate the interaction between type of therapy, low back pain, spinal fleksibility and gender. Type of research is that the study is a quasi-experimental,with a pretest - posttest design approach. With the method of taking samples is purposive incidental sampling through inspection procedures to establish the diagnosis of lower back pain. The results in this study are reduction in lower back pain and increase spinal fleksibility but there is no effect and a significant interaction between the type of physical therapy to increase fleksibility anddecrease lower back pain , then there is no significant difference between the type of therapy to lower back pain and spinal fleksibility, but there are significant differences in the increase in fleksibilitas if the terms of gender .Based on the conclusions obtained the following results : (1) The type of physical therapyinfrared and William Flexi Exercise better increase the fleksibility of the spine and lower back pain compared with other types of physical therapy infrared and Mc . Kenzie exercise, (2) There are differences increase the fleksibility of the spine by gender, and obtained the same result for lower back pain by gender , (3)there is no significant interaction between the type of physical therapy tofleksibility, lower back pain an gender

Abstract

Osteoarthritis  is  a  common  rheumatic  disease  and  causes  pain  and  inability  to perform  daily  activities.  Osteoarthritis  is  caused  by  several  factors  such  as:  age, obesity,  physical  activity,  sex,  hormonal,  and  idiopathic  causes  damage  to  the cartilage resulting in reduced mobility, pain and decreased muscle strength. Handlers in  this  state  first  examined  pain  with  VDS  scale,  examination  of  muscle  strength (MMT), examination of range of motion and functional activity. The modalities used in  this  condition  is  Ultra  Sound  (US)  and  exercise  therapy. From  the  results  obtained,  it  can  be  concluded  that  the  use  of  ultrasound  modalities and  therapeutic  exercises  can  help  reduce  the  problems  that  arise  in  the  case  of osteoarthritis.Key  words:  Osteoarthritis  with  VDS, MMT,  LGS,  ADL  Index,  ultrasound  and exercise therapy.

Abstract

Some people do not realize that using a smartphone is addictive so that it affects the health of the body and can make someone lose track of time. Excessive use will cause several effects, including eye fatigue, neck muscle stiffness, as well as stiff and tingling hands. From the observation process of identifying physiotherapy problems, it was found that the complaints experienced by the family community were that sometimes there was pain and tingling in the wrist area due to the use of smartphones, computers, and household activities after long-term activities. This observation process is carried out using the assessment method. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge and insight to the general public as well as improve the health status of the community, introduce physiotherapy, provide exercise programs in the form of Active Stretching and Hand Exercise in the prevention of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Prior to outreach and training, the community was given a pretest and the community was given a post test after completing the activity. The results and conclusions obtained from the pre-test and post-test are that there is an increase in people's knowledge after counseling and training.Keywords : Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Active Stretching, Hand Exercise

Abstract

A safe and comfortable work environment is very much needed for workers, including batik industry in Sijambe, Wonokerto, Pekalongan. This relates to the use of Personal Protective Equipment at work, work position, duration of work and conditions of the work environment. When conducting direct interviews with batik craftsmen, the following data were obtained, 50% of batik craftsmen felt pain in the buttocks, right knee, left leg; 60% pain in the upper neck, waist, left forearm, left knee; 70% feel pain in the lower neck, back and buttocks. Judging from the position of the equipment used, it can be seen that the working position of batik is not comfortable. The lighting used by batik craftsmen uses lamp lighting and ventilation that do not meet good lighting standards. The temperature at the time of observation reached 28-29oC with a humidity of 71%. This temperature makes the area of the batik maker quite hot, this temperature cannot be said to be comfortable for activities because a good temperature for workers ranges from 18.3-21.3oC, while the relative humidity in one room should be between 40-60% in summer, which is the relative humidity that gives a comfortable atmosphere in the room. Based on the analysis of the situation and problems, education about types, containers, places, labeling, hazard effects, and environmental impacts is needed. Education related to the use of Personal Protective Equipment at work to avoid work accidents. In addition, there is a need for health education about occupational diseases that are risky for Batik Craftsmen. Physical examination of batik craftsmen is needed to determine the health status of the craftsmen and as a basis for providing physiotherapy interventions for massage and irradiation using Infra Red. Keywords : Batik, Personal Protective Equipment, health

Abstract

Industri batik merupakan tiang perekonomian di Kabupaten Pekalongan salah satunya di wilayah Wonokerto. Aktivitas dari proses pembatikan memberikan dampak positif yaitu peningkatan perekonomian masyarakat baik melalui manufaktur maupun home industry batik dan tekstil. Selain itu juga membawa konsekuensi terhadap gangguan kesehatan para pekerjanya. Muskuloskeletal Disorders (MSDs) salah satu gangguan kesehatan yang sering di keluhkan oleh para pekerja batik. Proses pembuatan batik yang masih tradisional, manual serta kegiatan yang menetap secara terus menerus membuat otot-otot menjadi spasme dan menimbulkan nyeri pada beberapa bagian tubuh.  Selain itu uap lilin dan uap hasil pewarnaan akan mencemari udara dan menjadi polutan di lingkungan tempat kerja. Udara yang tercemar oleh polutan hasil dari kegiatan membatik akan berisiko terhadap gangguan kapasitas paru-paru. Identifikasi gangguan muskuloskeletal didapat dari pemeriksaan nordic body map indeks, nilai scoring nordic bady map indeks pada pekerja di dapatkan 30 – 73 dengan rerata 51,40 yang artinya mungkin diperlukan tindakan di kemudian hari(Wijaya K, 2019). Dengan keluhan para pekerja nyeri pada beberapa bagian tubuh yang mana di karenakan dari proses bekerja.Permasalahan ini terjadi karena kurangnya pemahaman para pekerja batik tentang dampak paparan uap malam, gangguan kesehatan terkait postur tubuh yang tidak ergonomis dan kurangnya aktivitas fisik pendukung pekerjaan.Tim PkM Universitas Pekalongan menawarkan solusi berupa kegiatan untuk menanggulangi permasalahan tersebut dengan memberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan aktivitas fisik. Adapun aktivitas fisik yang akan berikan adalah metode Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) yang merupakan suatu gerakan mengencangkan dan melemaskan otot pada suatu bagian tubuh untuk mengurangi dan mengendalikan dampak kesehatan yang dialami para pekerja batik tersebut.Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam upaya untuk mengoptimalkan produktivitas pekerja serta perlindungan kesehatan pekerja batik melalui keilmuan Fisioterapi dan Kesehatan Masyarakat.Kata kunci : MSDs, paparan uap malam, Progressive muscle reaxation.
