Abstract

The present study focuses on the implement of online learning in special education and how Information and Telecommunications Technology being used to strengthen and support the achievement of learning and the learning goals at special needs junior high school students (SMPLB) Jambi. The research method used in this study is a case study where the researchers observe how the patterns and processes of online education in the learning of SMPLB students, distributing questionnaires on the use of ICT to the teachers, interviews with parents/guardians of the students, and interviews with special junior high school teacher Sri Soedewi Maschun Sofyan, S.H Jambi. The results of the research indicate that the students in special needs schools have difficulty in obtaining technology that suits with their needs in learning. The learning process cannot be carried out as expected because the teachers have difficulty in making technology-based learning materials for the students, especially for students with the deaf and the blind. Reading and writing skills are also very limited, and the student learning is very low because the online method greatly limits opportunities for direct interaction between the students and the teachers. The involvement of parental assistance is also very low because the parents do not understand how to aid with children in online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to find out what are the learning videos of news text material that are already on YouTube based on the characteristics, specifications, and the advantages and disadvantages of the videos. This study uses a type of qualitative descriptive research. The data analysis technique uses the data analysis technique Miles and Huberman. This research gets results with videos that are generally 5-10 minutes long, in general the videos are in accordance with KD, indicators and learning objectives of news texts. Apart from that, video specifications are obtained with an aspect ratio of 16:9, resolution of 720 (HD), and a frame rate of 30fps. There are 40 learning videos on YouTube analyzed based on Miles and Huberman according to research criteria and a review of learning videos, 22 learning videos for news texts are found to be appropriate. Video material regarding identification of news elements and identification of news elements and concluding news content.

Abstract

Purpose of this research is produce "Training Material of Study System Design for Senior High School Indonesia Language Teacher" as according (1) requirement of teacher; (2) condition of expansion; (3) effectif, (4) can increase teacher interest; and (5) earns for teacher training. This research adopts expansion models Dick and Carey (2009). The sequence: determination of general purpose, study analysis, identification of initial ability, writing of purpose of special, assessment expansion of directive reference, strategy expansion, election and matter expansion, scheme and expansion of formative evaluation, revision, and scheme and expansion of evaluation sumatif. Result of this research, in general shows product " Training Material", very good. Suggestion, that product exploited by Senior High School Indonesia Language Teacher and exploited for further education expansion. Keyword: Development, training materials, design, learning systems

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low language skills of students which influence their interest in readingand so on. This has a negative impact on learning outcomes both inside and outside formal institutions. This researchaims to determine the ability of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program students to describethe morphological terms/vocabulary they have studied. The method used was qualitative with a descriptive approachthrough interviews with resource persons at PBSI FKIP Jambi University class of 2021. The research results showedthat low language skills and interest in reading had an influence on participants' learning outcomes. It is hoped thatthis research can contribute to the field of education, especially as input for students and curriculum improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to write persuasion using image media in class VIII students of SMPN 14 Jambi City using a quantitative descriptive approach. The number of subjects in this study was 31, namely class VIII A. The data research instrument in this study was a performance test for writing persuasive text. Assessment in writing persuasive text is based on the structure and linguistic rules, namely the existence of a series of arguments, facts, invitations, and the use of argumentative conjunctions. Furthermore, students write persuasive texts using image media. Data analysis in this study is the work of students who are examined by two assessors, namely teachers and researchers. The results of this study show that the ability to write persuasive texts using image media of class VIII A students in the aspect of writing a series of arguments gets an average score of 77, the ability to write facts gets an average score of 73.5, writing invitations gets an average score of 74.8, and the ability to use linguistic rules gets an average score of 75.4.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the planning and implementation of the friend correction technique in the learning to write expository texts of class VIII students of SMPN 25 Jambi City. This research is qualitative and descriptive. Data and data sources in this study used primary data (observation of the learning process) and secondary data (student work). Using the purposive sampling technique Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the planning and implementation went well, so that the application of peer correction techniques can improve the quality of the learning process of writing exposition texts for students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using storytelling media on the writing skills of descriptive text of junior high school students of SMP Negeri 19 Muaro Jambi. This research is a type of experimental research with a quasi experimentall design or a semi-experiment that uses a pretest-posttest control group design. The data obtained through the pretest and posttest scores of both groups, then the data were analyzed quantitatively with the help of the SPSS program. The results showed that the use of digital storytelling media had an influence on students' description text writing skills. The use of storytelling media can stimulate the imagination and creativity of writers by opening the door to new ideas and imaginative experiences in writing description texts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembelajaran project based learning terhadap keterampilan menulis teks pidato siswa kelas VIII yang dilakukan di MTs Negeri 2 Kota Jambi tahun pelajaran 2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah True Eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Subjek penelitian menggunakan 2 kelas yaitu kelas VIII J sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII K sebagai kelas kontrol yang sama-sama terdiri dari 32 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini dipilih melalui teknik random sampling yaitu dengan mengundi populasi kelas VIII yang terdiri atas 6 kelas dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 192 siswa di MTs Negeri 2 Kota Jambi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes menulis teks pidato pada kedua kelompok kelas. Diberikan perlakuan model pembelajaran project based learning pada kelas VIII J sebagai kelas eksperimen, sedangkan kelompok kontrol yaitu kelas VIII K tidak diberikan perlakuan serupa. Data penelitian ini kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji N-gain untuk melihat dan mengukur pengaruh model pembelajaran project based learning melalui gain skor dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Setelah gain skor didapat, dilakukan uji independent sample t test guna melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh signifikan yang terjadi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dianaisis serta diuraikan dalam pembahasan. Maka data diperoleh dari hasil pretest-posttest pada kelas eskperimen yang mana penggunaan model pembelajaran project based learning berpengaruh pada penulisan teks pidato pada aspek struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan. Nilai rata-rata pretest kelas kontrol 53,50 dan nilai rata-rata pretest kelas eksperimen 55,88. Kemudian nilai rata-rata posttest pada kelas konrol 64,31 dan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen 79,34. Hasil uji T nilai signifikansi 2 tailed 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga hipotesis nol Ho ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima. Dari data diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam penggunaan model pembelajaran project based learning memiliki pengaruh pada keterampilan menulis teks pidato siswa kelas VIII yang dilakukan di MTs Negeri 2 Kota Jambi.

Abstract

Blended learning, which combines face-to-face and online learning, has become widely adopted in higher education to enhance flexibility and accessibility for students. However, challenges in interactive communication remain, particularly in complex subjects like Macroeconomics Theory at FKIP Universitas Jambi. This study explores the implementation of ethical approaches in teaching skills within blended learning environments. Utilizing a quantitative research method, data were collected through a survey of 200 students. The results indicate significant challenges in interactive communication, with 80% of students reporting difficulties, yet overall satisfaction and learning outcomes were high. This finding underscores the importance of integrating ethical principles in digital teaching to improve interaction quality and student understanding. Conclusions highlight the necessity of ongoing support for students and lecturers in ethical digital communication. Future research should consider longitudinal studies and qualitative approaches to provide deeper insights into the long-term effects and experiences of blended learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze news coverage regarding the internationalization of the Indonesian language in Antaranews.com. The focus of this research is to identify the representation of the Indonesian language within media discourse and to understand the construction of reality built through the news coverage. This study employs a qualitative approach using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method. The data in this research consist of four news texts analyzed through Fairclough's three dimensions of CDA: the textual dimension, the discursive practice dimension, and the social practice dimension. Data collection was carried out through documentation techniques, while data validity was ensured through internal validity. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the news coverage of the internationalization of the Indonesian language on Antaranews.com constructs a discourse that emphasizes nationalism and pride in UNESCO’s recognition. In the textual dimension, the news narratives highlight national achievements and cultural diplomacy as the main factors behind UNESCO’s recognition. In the discursive practice dimension, discourse strategies are identified that aim to strengthen the legitimacy of national policies related to the internationalization of the Indonesian language. Meanwhile, in the social practice dimension, Antaranews.com coverage demonstrates how the media shape public understanding regarding the global position of the Indonesian language.
