Abstract

The first aim of this study was to determine the effect of SL - PTT programe ( improved varieties, seed quality, seeding, tillage, planting, watering later, fertilizing, weed control in an integrated, pest and disease control in an integrated , harvest and post- harvest ) to the increase in production rice; both to know the difference before and after the rice production program SLPTT. The population in this study were all farmers who participate in the program the SL - PTT rice growing season in 2012 ( approximately 300 farmers in the district Percut Sei Tuan ). The sample is a portion of the population that is considered to have a number of desirable characteristics with 20-25 % of the population so that 50 samples are drawn at random. Data analysis techniques used method of Multiple Linear Regression Analysis and Test average difference. Statistically Test results obtained multiple R value of 0.99 and an F - count 1034,281> F - 2:49 table at 95% confidence level ( α = 0.05 ), in the sense that there is a significant effect. In Partial test, the best variety (X1)  Seed treatment only grade ( X2 ) and Planting ( X5 ) is significant while the other variables are not significant. Based on the test results generated Beda average rice production for farmers who follow the program after the SL - PTT larger than that rice production for farmers before the program SLPTTKeywords : SL-PTT Programe, increase, production, rice, percut sei tuan

Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the economy has an important role and strategis.Pembinaan and pengembanganUMKM is a necessity in order to improve the regional economy. Given the variety and range of SME varies widely both in quantity and coverage is almost at all sectors of the economy so that it appears management problems of SMEs that do not focus on commodities and potensial.Kondisi type of business that can have impact on the promotion and development of SMEs which do not have efektif.Penelitian aims to determine the life cycle of commodities and types of businesses as well as the strategy of development of SMEs featured in Tanjungbalai so that it can support the improvement of the regional economy in KotaTanjungbalai. The data used in the analysis method Product Life Cycle analysis and SWOT analysis. The results showed that fish salting business, financial services, trade of fishery products, aquaculture clams, sea fishing, the fish meal industry business, the business of merchants of agricultural and minimarket business has relatively better prospects when compared to fish farming ditambak and budidaya.Sedangkan development potential varies from very high, high and medium. Alternative development model for the development of SMEs in Tanjungbalai is expected through the formation of clusters by strengthening the agribusiness system from upstream to downstream (Value Chain Agribusiness).Keywords: SMEs, Cycle, Commodities and Commodity Business Type

Abstract

Increased production of tilapia farming as the main priority can be done through the application of SWOT Analysis Method. The method involves review of business location and optimization of workforce to improve production. Method used in this research is case method. The research was conducted at Desa Ujung, Singkil, Aceh Singkil District, Aceh Province. The samples were taken using purposive sampling method. Data collection in this research consists of primary data taken from interview and analyzed using SWOT analysis method and secondary data obtained from Singkil SDO, Aceh Singkil district. The results of the research through descriptive SWOT analysis show that matrix value of internal factor at 0,33 while matrix value of external factor at 0,379, the use of  ST (Strengths and Threats) analysis indicates the company to be able to overcome the threats using the strengths from internal factor. Strategy used to gain long term opportunities can be done through utilization of internal strengths using diversification method. Keywords :Tilapia, SWOT Analysis, Internal Factor, External Factor.

Abstract

Study the feasibility analysis and development strategy cattle business was conducted to determine the feasibility and development strategy cattle business. The results obtained by the availability of inputs (seeds, enclosures, modern equipment and labor) at the study site. Economically viable cattle business was developed with revenues of Rp 32,274,213 per year with a B / C ratio of 2.03. Development strategy is to improve production and quality (weight) together with livestock agencies.Key words: feasibility, cattle beef cattle, strategy, development

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of changes in the behavior of women farmers MKRPL organic vegetable program participants to earnings of program participants Region Sustainable Food House Model (MKRPL) in the Environment IV. Medan District Urban Village Waterfall Marelan and to investigate the contribution of revenue models Region Sustainable Food House (MKRPL) on household income of women farmers MKRPL program participants in the study area. The method used in sampling is a sampling method that is the total sampling technique used when all members of the population as a sample. Analysis of the data used is qualitative. The results showed that the knowledge, attitudes and skills significantly affect revenues and program participants MKRPL MKRPL programs accounted for 8.52%.

Abstract

Tahu is a well known home industry in subulussalam. Municipality competition in the business requires a good strategy to survive in the industry. The aims of the research are to: 1) identify the influence of  internal and external environments to words tofu industry development, 2) give recomended development strategy for tofu makers at simpang kiri subulussalam.Method used in this research is qualitative analysis, the research was condicted at Simpang Kiri, Subulussalam. Data collection technique was done through interviuw and the data were analyzed using SWOT analysis method, sampling technique used random sampling method. Data collection consist of primary and secondary data.Results of descriptive metodology using SWOT  analisis show that matrix value of internal factor is 2,288 while matrix value of external factor is 2,162. The application strategy is done agressively explained as tofu industry is a promising business or has strenght and oppotunity. Recomenended strategy is taking advantage of oppotunities to get profits.Keywords: development strategy, SWOT, IFAS, EFAS

Abstract

Masyarakat desa sebagai bagian integral dari wilayah negara, seyogyanya harus mendapat perhatian serius dalam konteks pengembangannya sehingga tidak menampilkan sosok yang sangat senjang dengan kota yang begitu kentara sebagaimana yang sering dialami oleh sebagian besar masyarakat desa. Ditinjau dari aspek sosial ternyata terlihat sebenarnya kultur masyarakat desa pun pada gilirannya telah terkontaminasi dengan segala hiruk pikuk seperti yang ditemukan di kota walaupun secara mikro masih dijumpai adanya ciri khas dari suatu desa. Dalam mengantisipasi keberadaannya, kawasan pedesaan yang identik dengan pertanian, harus senantiasa memperhatikan potensi dan daya dukung yang dimilikinya sehingga pada gilirannya dapat memberika kontribusi yang proporsional bagi pembangunan masyarakat desa itu sendiri. Tujuan utama dari tulisan ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran umum tentang perkembangan masyarakat desa yang sangat kompleks dikaitkan dengan aspek sosial masyarakat desa yang pada akhirnya dapat menjadi pertimbangan positif bagi pembaharuan dan pembangunan desa secara berkesinambungan.Kata Kunci : Sosial, Masyarakt, Desa

Abstract

The existence of Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) in the Indonesian economy has a big role and potential in developing the national and sectoral economy absorbing a large number of workers. The development of UKM in the university environment is one of the responsibilities of the university and is a necessity to involve universities as a driving force for the emergence of young entrepreneurs in the campus environment. The Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra has formed a special institution that deals with student entrepreneurship issues, namely PUSKIIBI (Center for Entrepreneurship Innovation and Business Incubator). The research was conducted using the independent interview method, collecting institutional documents and institutional policies, and information related to student activities. From the data set and information, the formulation is carried out. Model of Institutional Synergy in Student Entrepreneurship Development at UMSU. This study aims to determine what institutions and the involvement of these institutions in supporting the progress of entrepreneurship in umsu and to create a model of institutional synergy that directly or indirectly synergizes with Puskiibi. From the research results obtained 1) the role of puskiibi as incubator is, access to community and business networking, support from experienced mentors, validation of ideas, infrastructure assistance, access to investors. 2) Related institutions that support the success of student entrepreneurship are SRCC, Study Programs in UMSU, LP2M, Halal Studies Center, and Haki Center. 3) The synergy model that must be developed is the recruitment of start-up candidates obtained from PKM-K participating students who have been netted by SRCC, student essays with downstream potential and student entrepreneurship independent campus participants obtained from Prodi, research lecturers with industrial potential from LP2M and alumni who come to register directly at PUSKIIBI. Furthermore, PUSKIIBI provides assistance, the certificate is only in synergy with the UMSU Halal Study Center and for the management of Trademarks and Patents through the UMSU HAKI Center.

Abstract

Increasing the utilization of village resource potential is a part that cannot be separated from sustainable agriculture and rural development (Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development). The various resources found in the village are production factors to produce a number of agricultural products or commodities. How much the value of the resources used will determine the yield of agricultural commodities both quantitatively and qualitatively. The ability of the village to provide various infrastructure and facilities and utilize the village's potential optimally is largely determined by the village's ability to fulfill funding for village development. The research method is a participatory approach, namely the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) technique. Data analysis was statistically descriptive and qualitative. The potential of Lubuk Kertang village, among others; Resources and agricultural potential of rainfed lowland rice, ponds. potential natural resources of mangrove forests, Purun plants, human resources, artificial resources, social and institutional resources. The mapping of agricultural-based village potential can be grouped into the agricultural sector, which consists of livestock, rice farming, horticulture, mangrove forests and coastal areas (aquaculture and capture fisheries) which are closely related and mutually supportive for their sustainability.

Abstract

From the results of the initial survey conducted by the proposing team, the objective to be achieved is to develop an economically independent group of people by providing skills on the cultivation of mushrooms with the media of planting waste oil (empty bunches), providing knowledge about agribusiness opportunities in the future. While the specific targets to be achieved are farmers' groups have the ability to increase productivity of agricultural products, especially mushroom, so it can compete in local and national markets as well as to increase the income of the population per capita. The method to be used is to create demonstration plots and training from teams and resource persons who are experts in the cultivation of mushroom, in order to provide skills to the partners for further monitoring by the proponent team until the partners can develop themselves.At the end of the program the partner has been able to do mushroom cultivation with the production is not optimal (still 30% of the ideal production). It is expected that mushroom cultivation will be carried out by the farmer group continuously with guidance. Skilled farmers make packing and are able to seize opportunities in agribusiness without having to rely on vast land, this is possible because of the demplot as a comparative study for partners.
