Abstract

This study aims to measure the frequency and intensity of insect attacks on mahogany seedlings (Swietenia mahagoni), also determine the level of damage that was caused by insect that attack mahogany seeds (S. mahagoni). Data used in this research is primary data and secondary data. Primary data is obtained through observations by making direct by grouping the level of insect attacks, secondary data is carried out by recording and measuring data to the agencies that was related to the environmental factors of the research location such as climate, humidity and temperature in the nursery. The results of the data shows that the frequency of insect attacks is about 78.6% and the frequency of leaf spot disease (leaf spot) is about 16%, while the overall attack of the frequency rate is about 94.6%, then the intensity of attacks on healthy seedlings is about 27, 317 seedlings were slightly damaged, 146 moderately damaged seeds, 1 seeds were severely damaged and 9 seedlings died with an intensity of attack of 32.4%, the damage rate that was caused by the insect and also leaf spot that attack mahogany seedlings (S. mahagoni) fall into the category of moderate damage. Based on the results of this study, insects and diseases that attack mahogany seedlings (S. mahagoni) in the nursery of The Centre of Watershed Management and Barito Protected Forests (BPDASHL) were green grasshopper insects (Oxya chinensis), stem borer insects (Xylosandrus sp.), Walang sangit insects (Leptocorisa acuta) and leaf spot diseases (leaf spot). Plant control is needed such as giving pesticides, natural enemies, from a kind of parasitoid wasp that attacks larvae Xylosandrus, and uses fungicides or wood vinegar.Keywords: Insects, Mahogany, Intensity of attacks, Level of damage

Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the fire incident at 2019 and identify the fuel charge in the Tangi wood RPH KPH from Liang Anggang Forest Reserve. The research location is conducted with the purpose of sampling at 5 points that occur fire incidents and in each tile a fire event created triangular plot made with 3 sizes 30 x 30 x 30 m, 10 x 10 x 10 m, and 1 x 1 m2 systematically. The fire incident was found at five research locations in the area of Liang Anggang protected Forest, consisting of 4 blocks I and 1 region in the Block II area. Plots 1, 2, 4, and 5 have been performed and the fire area is only in the most severe plots, while in the tile 3 the incidence area is very severe because no blackout activities are carried out there. The lost fuel load on block I and Block II in the 2019 is severe and can be categorized in high weather warnings even reaching extreme so that fire prone to fire occurs.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi kejadian kebakaran tahun 2019 dan mengidentifikasi muatan bahan bakar di KPH Kayu Tangi RPH Pengaron Hutan Lindung Liang Anggang. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan secara purposive sampling pada 5 titik yang terjadi kejadian kebakaran dan pada masing-masing petak kejadian kebakaran dibuat plot segitiga yang dibuat dengan 3 ukuran yaitu 30 x 30 x 30 m, 10 x 10 x 10 m, dan 1 x 1 m2 secara sistematis. Kejadian kebakaran ditemukan pada lima lokasi penelitian di areal Hutan Lindung Liang Anggang, yang terdiri dari 4 di wilayah blok I dan 1 di wilayah blok II. Petak 1, 2, 4, dan 5 telah dilakukan pemadaman dan luasan kejadian kebakaran pun hanya pada petak 2 yang paling parah, sedangkan pada petak 3 areal kebakarannya sangatlah parah dikarenakan tidak ada kegiatan pemadaman yang dilakukan disana. Muatan bahan bakar yang hilang pada blok I dan blok II pada tahun 2019 sangatlah parah dan bisa dikategorikan dalam rambu pengukuran cuaca adalah tinggi bahkan mencapai ekstrim sehingga rawan terjadi kebakaran.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of damage found in the Nyawai stand using a purposive sampling method in order to obtain a description of the desired data as many as three plots size of 27x27 meters. The results obtained showed that the location of the greatest damage was found in the root, upper stem and lower stem. The type of damage that attacks the most tree stands is open wounds, fungi and cancer. The canopy condition of the Nyawai stand shows normal leaves. The most dominant type of damage in the tree stands is open wounds with 135 stands, mushrooms as many as 99 stands and cancer as many as 34 stands.

Abstract

. Research assumed the title of “Community Involvement On The Prevention And Handling Peat Fire Teluk Paku In Bati-Bati Village Bati Bati Distric Tanah Laut Regency, South Borneo” Having objective of knowing the perception and participation of the community towards prevention and fire tackling peat on the gulf of spikes. Benefits from the study can inform us to the rural and become additional information in a bid to fire prevention peat that will involve society especially in the area of research locations. The motive of fire in peatlands is caused by human activities due to economic considerations. The reason for the burning of land because it is considered as the easiest way to open the land, effective and efficient.Sample selection with the census method of focus on the respondents who often actually interact with and dwell and sit among the remote and sparsely populated peat, the number of respondents in get as many as 80 people. The methodology used technique score scale 1-3-5 value a score based on set sums consisting of 4 the kinds of questions that each consisting of 5 to 6 at the present with the question. A conclusion that in get the perception of the community towards the fire prevention peat the gulf of a nail are categorized was in the middle of (1118). The perception of the community towards fire tackling peat included in a category high (1580). Level of participation of the community towards fire prevention peat categorized high (1770). Abstract

Damage to the plant leaves can affect the health of the plant. The research aims to identify  the damage that occurs in the leaves of the Sorea balangeran plant and calculate the percentage (%) of leaf damage. The location of the study was conducted at the Tumbang Nusa KHDTK BP2LHK Banjarbaru, Central Kalimantan, determined by purposive sampling or deliberate data collection with a specified starting point, observing 639 plants on the leaf section in 2015, identifying plants based on the leaf part written in the form of a tallysheet, calculate the percentage of damages to Sorea balangeran. The types of damages that occur in the leaves include holes, rolling, yellowing, perforating and rolling, rolling and inhaling. The dominant damage to the leaf is hollow leaves by 348 and the lowest is yellow roll by 2 with a percentage of 82.26% for leaves with holes and 0.48 for leaf rolling and yellowing. The percentage of damage to the leaves of the balageran plant showed a percentage of 65.72% that on the leaves of the Balangeran plant studied showed that the leaves were not good. The conclusion from the study of the greatest leaf damage occurred due to perforated leaves and the percentage of damage to the leaves as a whole by 65.72%.Keywords: Balangeran, Damage, Leaf, Identification, Forest

Abstract

Intensity and Frequency of pests disease is comparison quantity of objects be invaded and whole observed objects in percent. The intensity of pests and diseases is the level be ivaded or the level of plants damage caused by isects, fungi, bacteria or viruses that started by qualitatively or quantitalively. Pests are all animals that can be damage the trees or forest stands and forest products, plant disease is a modification or deviation in one or more parts of the physiological process and make loss of coordination in the plants.This research do in BP2LHK nursery Banjarbaru South Kalimantan from July until Semptember 2019. The method used is scoring method by determining be invaded score on mersawa seedling. The results of this study indicate that the frequency of pest and disease attacks on mersawa seedlings (Anisoptera marginata Korth) of 95.46%. The intensity of pests and diseases in the seeds of mersawa (Anisoptera marginata Korth.) of 37.9%. The level of pest damage to mersawa seedlings ranged 25,0–50,0 % include in the medium category. Abstract

Bekantan ecotourism area is a peat area that had caught fire in 2015 resulting in the loss of existing vegetation. Naturally, areas of burned peat have the ability to repair themselves by natural (secondary) succession. This succession is usually marked by the presence of pioneer plant types which will eventually form vegetation of shrubs, one of which is kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris Burm. Bedd) which dominates in the bekantan ecotourism area. It is possible to become one of the forest fuels if the area burns again. The aim of this study is to calculate the level of water litter (Stenochlaena palustris Burm. Bedd) and analyze the effect of water content of litter (Stenochlaena palustris Burm. Bedd) on the chance of a fire in Bekantan Ecotourism Area of PT. Antang Gunung Meratus, Kalimantan Selatan. The study was conducted in Bekantan Ecotourism Area PT. Antang Gunung Meratus, Kalimantan Selatan, for 3 months, from June to August 2019. The data obtained were calculated on the water content and determined the level of fire hazard. The results of this study the water content of litter under the shade of 11.6%. So that the water content under the shade is at a rate <20%. In accordance with the statement of the Ministry of Forestry and Forestry (1999) for peatlands, the water content in the observation plots is categorized as prone to fire.Keywords: Fire; Kelakai; Water content

Abstract

The need for wood raw materials is increasing rapidly at this time, so it demands that local types of wood be utilized, such as sungkai (Peronema canescens Jack) which is one type of local plant. Sungkai that wants to be used and cultivated is certainly the best quality. Thus, it is important to know the health aspects and also damage to the sungkai stand that will be utilized. This riset aims to identify damage, find out the percentage of damage and determine the condition of the sungkai stand, with the form of data in the form of coding observations of stand physical conditions based on the standard of the Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (EMAP). Results of this riset is identification damage indicate such as burns, the presence of mushroom fruit bodies, weathering, holes (cavities), death due to illegal logging, and leaf damage. The highest percentage of damage is weathering reaching 43%. The lowest damage is open and dead wounds, the percentage is 1%. The condition of 166 sungkai stands that have been identified, is known that 51 sungkai trees are in the criteria of a healthy class. Sungkai stands which are categorized as light damage classes as many as 106 trees. The sungkai stand is in the category of moderate damage class of 5 trees. Criteria for class of severe damage only occur in one tree. There are three Sungkai trees with dead conditions due to illegal logging.Keywords: sungkai; EMAP; identification of damage; stand condition

Abstract

Keberhasilan budidaya gaharu selain dipengaruhi oleh faktor genetik, perlakuan silvikultur dan kondisi tempat tumbuhnya juga dipengaruhi oleh tingkat ketahanannya terhadap serangan hama dan penyakit. Pada awal pertumbuhannya, tanaman gaharu rentan terhadap serangan hama ulat Heortia vitessoides yang menyerang daun hingga mengakibatkan tanaman mati karena daunnya gundul. Perlu atau tidaknya tindakan pengendalian ditentukan seberapa besar kerusakan yang dapat ditimbulkan pada satu periode serangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memprediksi umur ulat Heortia vitessoides berdasarkan pertumbuhan pada beberapa parameter yaitu panjang badan, diameter badan dan diameter kepala untuk menentukan perlu atau tidaknya dilakukan pengendalian. Metode penelitian berupa studi literatur, observasi lapangan, pengamatan dan pengukuran. Analisa data dilakukan secara deskriptif yaitu menghubungkan antara pertumbuhan ulat Heortia vitessoides pada ketiga parameter yang diukur dengan umur ulat menggunakan scatter plot untuk mentukan parameter mana yang lebih mendekati linier untuk memprediksi umur ulat Heortia vitessoides.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa fase larva Heortia vitessoides dapat mencapai hingga 24 hari dengan fase dekstruktif selama 20 hari dan 4 hari terakhir merupakan fase puasa. Dibandingkan dengan parameter panjang dan diameter kepala, maka ukuran diameter badan ulat Heortia vitessoides dapat dijadikan acuan untuk memprediksi umurnya karena berdasarkan scatter plot memiliki hubungan yang erat antara keduanya dengan nilai R2= 0.973. Jika kondisi kerusakan pohon kurang dari 50% dan umur ulat lebih dari setengah fase maka tindakan pengendalian tidak mendesak untuk dilakukan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor panyebab kebakaran lahan yang terjadi di desa Guntung Ujung Kecamatan Gambut. Sedangkan manfaat dari penelitian ini adalah  sebagai bahan informasi bagi instansi terkait guna menentukan langkah pencegahan selanjutnya. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuesioner sebagai bahan wawancara dan objek penelitian adalah masyarakat desa Guntung Ujung dengan intensitas sampling 10 % dari 533 KK diperoleh jumlah responden sebanyak 53 orang. Data yang diperoleh dikumpulkan dan direkafitulasi, sebagian dalam skala kualitatif dilakukan pendekatan “analisa tabulasi”.sedangkan sebagian dalam skala kualitatif yaitu untuk mengetahui faktor apa saja penyebab kebakaran yang dilakukan masyarakat di desa Guntung Ujung dengan menggunakan uji “Chi square”. Hasil penelitian di desa Guntung Ujung terdapat 65 faktor-faktor penyebab dari 53 responden dengan menggunakan dk=3 dan pada tingkat kesalahan duga 5 % maka dieperoleh harga X2 tabel =7,815. Bila dibandingkan antara X2 hitung (94,34) ≥ X2 tabel (7,815), maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa terlihat adanya perbedaan faktor-faktor penyebab kebakaran dari  tiap responden di desa Guntung Ujung. Faktor penyebab terbanyak yang dapat mengakibatkan kebakaran lahan yaitu pembuang puntung rokok dan korek api. Selain itu faktor-faktor lain yang menyebabkan kebakaran lahan yaitu pembersihan lahan, pembukaan lahan hutan dan api yang berasal dari daerah lain.
