The results of this study indicate the need for regular Kegel exercises and it is hoped that health workers in the area will be able to apply Kegel exercises with the elderly on a regular basis. By doing Kegel exercises, it can provide exercise to the pelvic muscles related to the regulation of the urinary system in regulating the urinary process in the elderly. Elderly people and their families should be able to do Kegel exercises as an alternative to non-pharmacological techniques that are easy to do without harmful effects in providing intervention and prevention in the elderly who experience urinary incontinence.

Abstract

The high incidence of TB in Indonesia is one of them caused by the lack of family motivation and the role of health workers in the healing process of TB disease, many TB sufferers do not finish treatment due to non-compliance in consuming drugs in large quantities and for a long time. The purpose of this study was to see if there is a relationship between motivation and the role of health workers on adherence in treatment. The research method used a cross sectional design, data was taken by distributing questionnaires, samples of 30 people who had been determined according to research criteria, data were tested with Chi square (alpa 0.05). The test results showed that there was a relationship between family motivation and TB patient treatment adherence p value 0.00 and there was a relationship between the role of health workers and TB treatment adherence p value 0.01. It is recommended that TB sufferers must remain enthusiastic in carrying out treatment and remain obedient in taking drugs in order to achieve maximum recovery.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is an infectious disease that spreads globally and is the second largest cause of death after HIV/AIDS. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately one third of the world's population is believed to be infected with M. tuberculosis, with 10% of them at risk of developing the disease. Tuberculosis germs generally infect the lungs, but can also attack other body organs. Transmission occurs through close contact with pulmonary tuberculosis sufferers who have BTA (+), where each sufferer can transmit this disease to 10-15 people each year. Factors that influence a person's risk of developing pulmonary tuberculosis include weakness in the body's immune system, which can be caused by a lack of nutritional intake and other factors. The aim of this research is to find out the characteristics of pulmonary TB sufferers. The research method used was descriptive analytical, with 37 pulmonary TB sufferers as samples selected using accidental sampling techniques at Community Health Center X. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire, and the measurement results were analyzed using a frequency distribution table. The results of the study showed that the majority of tuberculosis (TB) sufferers were over 45 years old, reaching 54.1%, the majority of TB sufferers were men, with a percentage of 70.3%, the majority of TB sufferers had elementary school education, with the number reaching 48 .6%, The majority of TB sufferers work as farmers and employees, which reaches 32.4%, The majority of TB cases are old cases, accounting for 56.8%, The majority of TB sufferers receive treatment regularly, reaching 54.1%, and The majority of TB sufferers TB was declared cured after treatment, with the number reaching 75.7% of the total sample. The conclusion is that these results reflect the general profile of TB sufferers in the population studied. This provides an overview of the demographic characteristics, disease history, and response to treatment of TB sufferers in the context of the research conducted. It is recommended that this data can be used as a basis for planning more effective interventions and treatment strategies as well as more targeted prevention efforts in controlling TB disease in the future.

Abstract

Background: Clitoria ternatea L., commonly known as butterfly pea flower, has gained attention as a potential agent in the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis due to its rich content of bioactive compounds, such as anthocyanin, a type of flavonoid renowned for its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, along with its ability to enhance the immune system. Objective: This study aimed to elucidate the positive impact of butterfly pea flower extract on atherosclerosis biomarker profiles. Methods: The approach framework used in this research is a true experimental laboratory with a Control Group Post-Test design. Obese male white rats were selected as the research subjects. Thirty-six obese white rats were randomly divided into six groups using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method. The data collected were VCAM and IL-6 levels from the blood serum of obese white rats tested using an ELISA photometer. The tunica intima thickness was measured using a microscope. Data were analyzed employing SPSS 18 software, utilizing one-way ANOVA statistical tests and post hoc Tukey tests. Results: The research showed that with the increase in Butterfly Flower Extract (BPFE) dose, there was a consistently lower level of inflammatory biomarkers, such as VCAM-1 and IL-6, compared to positive controls and other variations, as well as tunica intima thickness was thinning than others. A dose of 600 mg/kg BW (P3 group) had VCAM-1 levels up to 30.40 ± 6.71 ng/mL, IL-6 levels up to 17.70 ± 8.29 ng/mL, and tunica intima thickness up to 3.18 ± 1.24 µm.Conclusion: BPFE effectively lowers inflammatory biomarkers and thins the tunica intima thickness in obese white rats at 600 mg/kg BW dose. It may offer promising therapeutic potential in addressing atherosclerosis.

Transmission can occur through the air when the sufferer or sufferer is coughing, talking, sneezing or spitting. Once the germs enter the respiratory system, they will attack the lungs and spread to the circulatory system. Factors that cause TB apart from agent (host) factors are also influenced by environmental factors. Treatment of TB patients takes at least 6 months, for 6 months the patient must take medicine regularly every day at the same time, because the length of the treatment process sometimes makes the patient feel bored and bored to take it, besides that this condition is a disease that can transmit it to other people makes them ostracized from their environment, this condition makes sufferers more down and resigned to their illness so that it can be dangerous and can even cause death. therefore the role of the family in providing support is very important, because the family is the closest person to the patient, so the family must know what support needs to be given to the patient. The purpose of community service is to increase knowledge, especially about family support in the healing process of TB patients. This activity was held in November at the Lubuk Pakam Health Center, the counseling participants were 121 patients and their families.
