Abstract

PHC as one of the government facilities has a very strategic role in accelerating the improvement of public health status. A positive attitude towards the services of these two parts will be built if the services received by the community are in accordance with or even exceed their wishes. This will affect the public's perception of being loyal so that they will return to the health center. Service Quality (SerQual) is a multi-dimensional measure used to measure public perceptions of service quality. Service Quality consists of five dimensions, namely Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance (Communication, Credibility, Courtesy), and Empathy. The quality of this service is further facilitated by one of the applications issued by the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) in the health sector, namely Primary Care (PCare). With BPJS PCare, it is hoped that it can provide convenience and quality health services, especially in the Registration and Outpatient sections. This study aims to examine the effect of service quality on outpatient patient satisfaction in the PCare section or registration at UPT. Jati Fence Health Center. This type of research is quantitative research with explanatory research methods. The results of research that has been carried out on 100 samples as users of outpatient facilities, it turns out that there is a significant relationship between service quality and outpatient patient satisfaction in the PCare Department at UPT. Pagar Jati Public Health Center in 2023.

Abstract

In Indonesia, 50% of tuberculosis (TB) treatments are discontinued prematurely. The success of TB treatment depends on patient adherence to completing the treatment. Family support is crucial in enhancing TB patient adherence, particularly regarding emotional and appreciation support. This study aims to explore the complexity of family support to TB patient adherence in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This qualitative study employed participatory observation and in-depth interviews with TB patients and their family members. The research was conducted from February to April 2024 in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Informants included 10 TB patients and 16 family members, selected purposively based on data from the public health center and the TB Program Holder. The researcher was the primary instrument of the study, focusing on two dimensions of family support: emotional and appreciation. Data validity was checked through credibility testing, including triangulation. The study findings indicate that family emotional support is reflected in expressions of empathy and caring. Sadness is evident from family members’ tears upon learning that a relative tested positive for TB. Family support is shown by accompanying TB patients to the health center and reminding them to take treatment. Appreciation support is demonstrated by valuing the patient’s treatment process. Family members encourage and motivate the patient to adhere to the treatment. Emotional and appreciation support from family plays a significant role in TB patient adherence to treatment. Families can significantly contribute to the success of TB treatment by demonstrating empathy, caring, and appreciation for the patient.

Tuberculosis (TB) in children is an infection caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis with symptoms such as prolonged coughing, chest pain, and weight loss, which can interfere with children's health and growth. In terms of education, infected children often have to be absent from school to undergo treatment, which can cause learning delays and academic difficulties. Therefore, it is very important for elementary school children to know about pulmonary TB disease. This study aims to assess elementary school students' knowledge about tuberculosis (TB) and describe the demographic characteristics of the respondents. This type of research is descriptive. The research location is at Elementary School Sampling was carried out using a systematic sampling technique. The data collection instrument is a questionnaire. The results showed that the majority of respondents were aged 10–12 years (80.0%) and a small proportion were aged 6–9 years only (20.0%), the female gender was more numerous, namely (70.0%), while the male gender -men only (30.0%). Analysis of knowledge about TB shows that half of the respondents (50.0%) have poor knowledge, and only (12.5%) have good knowledge. It can be concluded that there is a need for more effective health education programs in schools to increase knowledge about TB among students, so as to reduce the risk of transmission and increase health awareness in the community.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a serious public health problem in Indonesia. The rapid spread of pulmonary TB, especially through droplets, requires good understanding from the public to reduce the risk of transmission. This Community Service (PKM) aims to increase public knowledge regarding the mechanism of pulmonary TB transmission through health education programs at the Bandar Khalipah Community Health Center. The approach used is interactive counseling which covers topics about the meaning of TB, symptoms, ways of transmission, and preventive measures. This activity is aimed at TB patients and families around the community health center. The results showed a significant increase in the participants' level of understanding after attending the counseling, based on analysis before and after the activity. This shows that structured and interactive health education is effective in increasing community knowledge about pulmonary TB transmission, thus contributing to disease prevention and control at the community level.
