Abstract

Abstract

PT. Krakatau Posco, is the largest steel manufacturing company in Southeast Asia that produces slabs and plates. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of controlling inventory of steel material fabrication workshop with the EOQ method and compared with the current method of the company in an effort to prevent the unavailability of such steel material fabrication. Inventory control using the EOQ method is expected to provide solutions for inventory control, and optimal ordering in order to obtain savings for inventory costs (Total Inventory Cost) at PT. Krakatau Posco. The method used is an interview and take the necessary data, then conduct an initial analysis using the ABC method to clarify the data that has been carried out at PT. Krakatau Posco, controls inventory using EOQ, determines safety stock, ROP and maximum inventory. By controlling the ordering and inventory also expected to provide significant savings for the company, by reducing inventory costs (Total Inventory Cost). The conclusion of this research is the EOQ method is the right method for controlling steel raw material fabrication to meet the production and repair processes at PT. Krakatau Posco and with this method the results of total inventory costs are also more efficient.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of the companies engaged in the salt processing industry in Indonesia. The development of this industry, in addition to having a positive impact on the economy also has the potential for negative impacts on the environment if not managed properly. This condition is inseparable from the production process which produces many defects and rejects. One way to reduce these negative impacts is by measuring performance that is integrated with the environment (Green Supply Chain Management). The researcher uses the green SCOR model which refers to the SCOR (Supply Chain Operation Reference) model from the Supply Chain Council to identify green supply chain management performance indicators. Then use AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) to determine the level of importance of green supply chain management performance indicators. There are six categories of processes used in measuring the performance of green supply chain management, namely plan, source, make, deliver, return and waste management, but research is focused on the make process that focuses on the salt production process. The results of measurements indicate that the value of the performance of green supply chain management of PT. XYZ in 2017 amounted to 75.4 and 2018 amounted to 72.3 is still below 80 even though it is nearing the target but is still being controlled and efforts are made to improve. But when in 2019 it decreased to 46.6 which shows far below the target and needs to be done immediately. As for the 17 performance indicators measured, there are 9 performance indicators that need to be improved, namely reusable material, the number of machine troubles, the number of process rejects, recycleable rejects, the amount of waste, the amount of product defects, recycleable defects, production costs and waste handling costs.

Abstract

This research examines the causes of financial performance declining and of low customer review ratings at the Radja Gurame Cempaka Putih outlet of PT Selera Radja Sejahtera, which poses a threat to business sustainability, and aims to restore its profitability by identifying gaps in the quality management system and organizational performance. A qualitative descriptive method was applied through management interviews, focus group discussions with key employees, customer interviews, field observations, and analysis of secondary data. The analysis integrates gap analysis of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, Balanced Scorecard performance perspectives, Cause and Effect analysis, and Resourced-Based View evaluation. The results reveal seven key findings: significant gap exists between operational practices and the formal quality management system, data-driven performance measurement and decision-making systems are not yet established, product and service quality inconsistencies occur under high operational load, product and service quality constitute key intangible resource-based strengths, human resource management is not yet system-based, technology utilization remains operational rather than strategic, and internal resource advantages have not been converted into sustainable financial performance. The study proposes a Balanced Scorecard-based strategy map to restore a sustainable profitability over a three-year horizon.

Abstract

Background: Optimizing sustainable production for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in South Tangerang is essential to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness under resource constraints and increasing sustainability demands. Objective: This study aims to formulate and prioritize sustainable production optimization strategies for food-sector MSMEs by integrating Green Value Stream Mapping (GVSM), SWOT analysis, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Methods: This study employs a mixed-method case study approach on a food-processing MSME in South Tangerang. GVSM is used to identify process inefficiencies, SWOT to analyze strategic factors, and AHP to determine the priority of improvement strategies. Results: GVSM identified eight waste categories, with green waste (single-use plastics, high energy/gas consumption) and waiting time as the most critical. AHP analysis yielded the following criteria weights: Marketing (C1 = 0.32), Support (C2 = 0.24), Sustainability (C3 = 0.18), Technology (C4 = 0.15), and Efficiency (C5 = 0.11), with a Consistency Ratio (CR) ≤ 0.10 confirming valid pairwise judgments. The top-priority strategy was digital platform/e-commerce adoption (A1 = 0.48), followed by human resource training and external support (A2 = 0.32), and product innovation and sustainability (A3 = 0.20). Collaborative distribution ranked lowest due to high implementation complexity. Conclusion: The integrated GVSM–SWOT–AHP approach provides a practical framework for linking process improvement with strategic decision-making and supports MSMEs in enhancing efficiency, competitiveness, and environmental performance. This study contributes to MSME operations management literature by demonstrating that process-level diagnostic tools (GVSM) can be systematically integrated with strategic prioritization methods (SWOT–AHP).
