Abstract

This action research generally purpose to improve the skills of writing of exposition in 7th Grade SMPN 18 Padang by cooperative learning strategy of group investigation. The instrument of test and the quotionaire analyzed by quantitative approach and the teachers and students observation analyzed by qualitative approach, reciprocally by field notes. The results of the research was indicated the enhancement of the skills of writing exposition in 7th Grade SMPN 18 Padang used by the cooperatif learning strategy of group investigation. Approximately the score of students writing was 82.66, by indicator of: main idea; 78.9, idea organize; 93,45, discourse; 75.15, style of language; 82.87, and writing mechanism; 81.11. based on the research, it can be concluded that the skills of writing exposition by cooperative learning strategy in 7th in SMPN 18 Padang could improved the writing exposition skill of 7th Grade in SMPN 18 Padang

Abstract

This research is titled “The Influence of Discovery Learning Model Assisted by Audiovisual Media on the Writing Skills of Anecdotal Texts in Class X Students of SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh.” The aims of this study are to describe the writing skills of students in anecdotal texts without and with the application of the discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media, as well as to analyze its effects on writing skills. The method used is quantitative with a Control-only group posttest design. The research sample consists of 36 students divided into two groups: a control class and an experimental class. The findings indicate that the use of the discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media significantly enhances students' writing skills in anecdotal texts. Additionally, this study finds that this learning model is more effective than conventional methods in improving students' creativity and understanding. This result is expected to contribute to the development of teaching methods in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

The phenomenon of learning communication in international classrooms has its own complexity, especially in the use of directive speech acts and teachers' speech strategies. At Mondial International School Batam, the diversity of students' cultural and linguistic backgrounds creates challenges in delivering learning instructions. This study aims to identify and analyze the form of directive speech acts and teachers' speech strategies in learning Indonesian in class XII. Through a qualitative approach with descriptive method, data were collected using the free listening technique (SBLC) of Indonesian teachers' speech, with validation using triangulation of data, investigators, and theories. Data analysis revealed five forms of directive speech acts: ordering (52 utterances), pleading (4 utterances), demanding (49 utterances), suggesting (31 utterances), and challenging (11 utterances). The dominant speech strategy is Straightforward Speech with Positive Politeness (67 utterances), followed by Straightforward Speech without Politeness (63 utterances), Negative Politeness (16 utterances), and Vague Speech (1 utterance). This communication pattern shows the tendency of teachers to use directive speech acts of ordering with positive politeness strategies to create a conducive and inclusive learning atmosphere, while maintaining respectful relationships with students in the context of an international classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model on the biography text writing skills of class X SMA Negeri 1 Pancung Soal students. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental method. The design of this research is Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study were class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pancung Soal totaling 367 people. The sample was determined using purposive sampling technique consisting of control and experimental classes, namely class X Phase E.11 as a control class with 33 people. Class X Phase E.9 as an experimental class totaling 33 people. Based on the t-test results, it is concluded that the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model has an effect on the biography text writing skills of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pancung Soal because the t-table value <count (1.79<4.47). So, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type can be used as an alternative in learning to write biography texts of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pancung Soal.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of descriptive text writing skills using Project Based Learning assisted by video media in class IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. The method used in this research is an experiment with a post-test only control group design. The research results show that the skill of writing descriptive text using Project Based Learning assisted by video media is more effective than conventional methods. The average score of students who used this method was in the very good category, while those who did not use this method were in the fair category. Thus, this learning model is recommended to improve the quality of learning to write descriptive texts in schools.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) activity carried out at SLB Tunas Harapan, Silungkang Tigo Village, aims to build empathy and self-love among students with special needs through collaboration between KKN students and teachers. The methods used in this activity include socialization through educational games, self-reflection sessions, and positive psychology approaches tailored to students' needs. The results of the activity showed that students experienced improvements in recognizing and expressing their feelings, as well as strengthening self-confidence and social relationships with each other. Although there were challenges in verbal communication for some students, this activity succeeded in creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for students' psychosocial development. This study contributes to the development of inclusive education and reinforces the importance of collaboration between students and teachers in supporting students with special needs.

Abstract

Dalam rangka memperingati Tahun Baru Islam 1 Muharram 1447 H, mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) bersama warga Nagari Tandikek Selatan menyelenggarakan kegiatan pawai obor dan berbagai perlombaan bernuansa keislaman. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan semangat keagamaan serta mempererat tali silaturahmi antarwarga, terutama dalam melibatkan anak-anak dan remaja desa. Lomba adzan, Tilawah dan Cerdas Cermat menjadi fokus utama sebagai upaya menanamkan nilai-nilai Islam sejak dini. Seluruh proses persiapan dilakukan secara gotong royong antara mahasiswa dan masyarakat, mulai dari perencanaan, penataan lokasi, hingga pemilihan juri. Pawai obor yang melibatkan warga dari berbagai kalangan turut memperkuat semangat kebersamaan dan menjadi simbol hijrah menuju kehidupan yang lebih baik. Partisipasi aktif masyarakat menunjukkan tingginya antusiasme serta keberhasilan kegiatan ini dalam membangun hubungan harmonis antarwarga. Melalui kegiatan ini, mahasiswa dan masyarakat tidak hanya memperingati momen keagamaan, tetapi juga memperkuat nilai sosial dan spiritual yang bermanfaat jangka panjang. Harapannya, tradisi ini dapat terus dilestarikan sebagai bentuk kolaborasi yang positif antara mahasiswa dan masyarakat desa.

Abstract

Ikan terlarang merupakan salah satu bentuk kearifan lokal yang masih dilestarikan oleh masyarakat Nagari Tandikek Selatan. Tradisi ini tidak hanya mengandung nilai-nilai budaya tetapi juga berperan penting dalam melestarikan lingkungan perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam bagaimana praktik ikan terlarang ini diterapkan dan bagaimana kontribusinya terhadap konservasi sumber daya alam. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi lapangan selama dua minggu di area ikan terlarang di sekitar Masjid Agung Pucung Anam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan terlarang berperan penting dalam membentuk kesadaran ekologis masyarakat, menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem sungai, serta memperkuat nilai-nilai sosial dan keagamaan masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

Sampah plastik menjadi permasalahan utama di Nagari Tandikek Selatan akibat keterbatasan fasilitas pengelolaan dan rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat. Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Negeri Padang memanfaatkan sampah plastik menjadi ecobrick sebagai media identitas kegiatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi pada proses pengumpulan, pembersihan, pemadatan, pengecatan, penjemuran, dan penyusunan ecobrick. Sebanyak 250 botol plastik ukuran 600 ml berhasil diisi limbah anorganik dan disusun menjadi plang berukuran 3 x 3 meter. Kegiatan ini mengurangi sampah plastik sekaligus meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah secara kreatif dan kolaboratif. Plang ecobrick menjadi simbol identitas nagari dan contoh penerapan teknologi sederhana berbasis partisipasi masyarakat.
