Abstract

High downtime in production machines is one of the main obstacles that hinder the achievement of production targets in the manufacturing industry. PT Syngenta Seed Indonesia, particularly in the plant dryer section, experiences significant downtime issues on the dryer machine, which impacts the failure to meet the corn seed yield targets. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the dryer machine and identify the root causes of downtime in order to propose appropriate corrective actions. The method used is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) measurement, which consists of three main components: availability, performance, and quality. The results of the study show that the average OEE value is 48%, far below the world-class standard of 85%. The average values for availability, performance, and quality are 66%, 75%, and 97%, respectively. The main causes of the low OEE value are high downtime due to material waiting times, machine overheating, and operator handling errors. Based on these findings, proposed improvements include operator training, rescheduling preventive maintenance, temperature sensor repairs, and adjustments to the drying process information system.

Abstract

CV. ABC is a wood-processing manufacturing company with one of its main products being turning components. The primary issue faced by the company is waste caused by frequent product defects due to human error. This study aims to minimize non-value-added activities and identify the root causes of human error in the turning production process. The Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method is used to map the process flow from raw materials to finished products. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using WAM, WRM, and WAQ. The results identified the three highest types of waste: defect (27.979%), overproduction (15.471%), and inventory (12.363%). Waste prioritization was carried out using VALSAT, with PAM and QFM selected as the most influential tools. Fishbone analysis revealed lack of focus and attention to detail as the main causes of human error. Improvements were proposed through skill enhancement training, occupational health and safety (OHS) implementation, and regular checklist usage. As a result, processing time was reduced from 2,384.2 minutes to 2,247.4 minutes, as illustrated in the Future State VSM.

Abstract

The loading and unloading process often becomes a bottleneck in the distribution of bottled drinking water due to excessive waiting time. This study aims to identify and minimize such delays using Value Stream Mapping (VSM). To strengthen the analysis, the Waste Assessment Model (WAM) was applied to examine the interrelationships among different types of waste, while Root Cause Analysis (RCA) was employed to uncover the main contributing factors. The study was conducted at a bottled water company experiencing significant delays in queuing and inspection stages. Following the implementation of improvement measures, time efficiency increased by 17.53%. The findings demonstrate that accurately identifying waste can enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflow, and enable the company to operate more productively.

Abstract

Fishbone diagram analysis on oyster mushroom production at CV Budidaya Jamur Sejati which produces oyster mushroom baglog on a large scale offers more than one or two types of Baglog. To analyze defects in the production process, the fishbone diagram is very suitable for the oyster mushroom industry production process. From the fishbone diagram, it shows that production defects are caused by human factors, materials, environment, and methods. These factors include lack of supervision of raw materials, selection of seeds and inappropriate soil mixtures, poor air circulation, pest attacks, poor cleanliness, less than tight baglog arrangement, and imperfect inoculation process. Based on this analysis, the suggestions given are to increase supervision of raw materials, improve the quality of raw materials, improve cleanliness and air circulation, and improve the quality of the production process. With the implementation of these suggestions, it is hoped that CV Budidaya Jamur Sejati can improve the quality and quantity of oyster mushroom production and increase the company's competitiveness in the market

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the production costs of cassava chips in MSMEs in Grati District, Pasuruan Regency, using the Activity Based Costing (ABC) approach. The ABC method is chosen because it can allocate costs accurately based on activities in the production process, thus providing a more realistic cost picture compared to traditional methods. Data were obtained through direct observation, interviews with MSME actors, and documentation of raw material costs, labor, and production overhead. The analysis results show that the ABC method can identify the main cost-consuming activities, such as raw material processing, frying, and packaging. The cost of goods sold (COGS) per unit using the ABC method is IDR 1,866, which is lower than the traditional method of IDR 3,363, with a saving of 44.52%. This understanding helps MSMEs control and optimize resources, improving production cost efficiency. The study also provides strategic recommendations for setting competitive selling prices and increasing business profitability. In conclusion, the ABC method effectively assists MSMEs in managing production costs accurately and transparently.

Abstract

Raw material inventory is an important factor that influences company profits. CV. XYZ is a company engaged in the production of precast concrete. This company has not implemented special methods in planning and scheduling production. So far, companies have only relied on predictions of consumer needs without proper analysis, so they often experience excesses or shortages of raw materials. This research aims to determine the optimal amount of raw material inventory using the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method. Data collection techniques include interviews, literature study, observations and observations. Calculations are carried out using the lot sizing method to determine the quantity and frequency of orders as well as total inventory costs. The analysis results show that the MRP method using the Periodic Order Quantity (POQ) technique produces lower total costs compared to Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). By applying the MRP method with the POQ technique, companies can optimize raw material inventory and minimize total inventory costs

Abstract

Dalwa Anugrah Hasaniyah, a manufacturing company, produces bottled drinking water (AMDK). One of the main machines used in the production process is the 600 ml bottle filling machine, which plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth production. However, in actual use, this machine often experiences problems that reduce production efficiency. The most common problems include delays in raw material deliveries, which cause downtime or interruptions in the production process, as well as breakdowns of certain machine components. Decreased productivity and increased production costs are the consequences of this scenario. Using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, which consists of three main indicators—availability, performance, and quality—this study aims to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the 600 ml bottle filling machine. Research data was obtained over a period of six consecutive weeks through direct recording of machine operating hours, the number of products produced, defective products, and downtime. The results of data processing indicate that the average OEE value of the filling machine is 78%. This value is still below the world-class OEE standard of 85%. The main factor influencing the low OEE value is the high level of downtime, which significantly impacts the decline in availability, where the average availability value obtained is only 80%. This study concludes that the company needs to implement a scheduled preventive maintenance strategy, increase the reliability of raw material supplies, and optimize operator skills to improve machine effectiveness and approach world-class standards.

Abstract

Background : Malnutrition is the most significant factor for infant mortality. Exclusive breastfeeding for infants contributed to the Nutritional Status and Infant Health. In Suradadi Health centre (Puskesmas), there were some problems, such as the prevalence of exclusive breast feeding under minimum standard of service and the high incidence of malnutrition, Respiratory Tract Infection and Diarrhoea.Objectives : To analyze breastfeeding relationship with the nutritional status and Incident of Infection in 6-8 months Infants.Method : This type of study was explanatory study with cross sectional approach. Subjects were all of 6-8 months infants in study area. Variables are exlusive breastfeeding, nutrition status and infection. The statistical test was applied by using Fisher's exact with test of closeness contingency coefficient.Results : There were 24.6% infant being exclusive breastfeeding. Some of them ( 94.7%) have well-nourished and wasting s were 1.8%. There were 84.2% had infection. There was no association between exclusive breastfeeding an nutritional status ( p=1.00), however there was an association between exclusive breastfeeding and infection incidence (r=0,605,p =0.00) .Conclusion : There was no relation between exclusive breastfeeding with Nutritional Status and there was a significant relation between the Exclusive Breastfeeding and Infection incidence with a strong level of closeness in 6-8months infants.

Abstract

Background : Eucheuma cottonii is seaweed containing carrageenan, soluble fiber compounds. Carrageenan could affect the absorption of monosaccharides and delaythe rate of increasing blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the effect of Eucheuma cottonii seaweed pudding on postprandial blood glucose levels.Method : Study design was an experimental series, involving 10 students of Polytechnic of Health Semarang, based on the inclusion criteria. The subjects received two kinds of interventions. Firstly, subjects received complete meals. In the next week, was treated with complete meal plus Eucheuma cottonii seaweed pudding. Paired T-test was used to analyze differences of postprandial blood glucose levels.Results : Mean levels of fasting and postprandial blood glucose after complete meal is 92.5 mg / dl, minute-30 was 133 mg / dl, 1st hour was 118.5 mg / dl, 2nd hours was 107.2 mg / dl and 3rd hour 95.8 mg / dl, respectively. Blood glucose level after complete meal plus 100 gram seaweed pudding, is 87.7 mg / dl, postprandial 30 minute 120.9 mg / dl, 1st hour 112.9 mg / dl, 2nd hour 104 mg / dl and 3rd hour of 95.4 mg / dl. There is no significant difference on post-prandial blood glucose after fed with Eucheuma cottonii puding (p> 0.05).Conclusion : Eucheuma cottonii seaweed pudding does not affect postprandial blood glucose levels on healthy subjects.

Abstract

Latar belakang : Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) yang merupakan upaya pemberian layanan kepada anak usia 0-6 tahun melalui penitipan anak, kelompok bermain agar anak dapat tumbuh dan berkembang secara optimal. Stunting dapat menimbulkan gangguan tumbuh kembang anak.Faktor lain yang mempengaruhi adalah asupan zat besi dan seng serta pola asuh. Tujuan penelitian : Menjelaskan hubungan tingkat kecukupan zat besi, seng, kejadian stunting dan pola asuh dengan status perkembangan anak di PAUD wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tegowanu.Metode penelitian : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian bidang gizi masyarakat dengan pendekatan case control. Sampel penelitian adalah semua kasus dan kontrol dengan perbandingan 1 kasus dan 1 kontrol. Responden penelitian adalah ibu dari sampel. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi tingkat kecukupan zat besi seng, kejadian stunting, dan sikap pengasuhan. Uji yang digunakan adalah Chi Square dengan α = 0,05.Hasil : Tingkat kecukupan zat besi yang kurang pada kelompok kemungkinan ada penyimpangan sebesar 85,7% dan kelompok sesuai tahap sebesar 52,4%. Tingkat kecukupan seng yang kurang pada kelompok kemungkinan ada penyimpangan sebesar 85,7% dan kelompok sesuai tahap sebesar 57,1%. Kejadian stunting pada kelompok kemungkinan ada penyimpangan sebesar 38,1% dan kelompok sesuai tahap sebesar 9,5%. Sikap pengasuhan negatif pada kelompok kemungkinan ada penyimpangan sebesar 52,4% dan kelompok sesuai tahap sebesar 33,3%.Kesimpulan : Ada hubungan antara tingkat kecukupan zat besi dengan status perkembangan (p=0,019, OR= 5,455). Ada hubungan antara tingkat kecukupan seng dengan status perkembangan (p=0,040, OR= 4,500). Ada hubungan antara kejadian stunting dengan status perkembangan (p=0,030, OR= 5,846). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara sikap pengasuhan dengan status perkembangan (p=0,212).Saran : Kepada tenaga kesehatan yang bertugas di Puskesmas untuk melakukan penyuluhan tentang pentingnya kecukupan zat besi dan seng kepada ibu balita.
