Abstract

This study was a quasi experimental research with the aim to know the effectiveness of contextual learning in kolaka city to the skills of mathematical communication. Population in this research was all student of class VII SMP Negeri 2 Kolaka Academic Year 2015/2016. To avoid a large bias in the determination of research samples, the researchers conducted several stages i.e. firstly to test homogeneity against the groups that had formed in the population. After that, took two classes of control and experiment group. Data collection techniques applied tests and observations. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics using data centering and data dissemination, then inferential statistics using Independent t-test. The results of descriptive research indicated that the mathematical communication skills of the students taught by using contextual learning of kolaka city consisting of 24 students showed the average value of 71.18 while students who were taught with conventional learning consisting of 27 students showed the mean value of 60.34. Furthermore, the results of inferential statistical analysis of hypothesis testing by using t-test obtained tcount as much as (2.03658)> ttabel (1.67655), indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, meant that there was a significant difference between the mathematical communication skills of the students who are taught with contextual learning of kolaka city and conventional learning on the 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Kolaka. From the result of this research, it can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of the students who are taught by contextual learning of kolaka city is more effective than mathematical communication skills of the students taught by conventional learning in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Kolaka.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to produce a product in the form of a valid and reliable measuring instrument for student numeracy that can be used in schools and in the general public. The research stages will be carried out based on the test development design, namely Preparing Test Specifications, Preparing Test Items, Testing Test Items in the Field, Revision of Test Items, and Test Development. The question grid is based on the 2013 curriculum syllabus. The test was conducted on elementary school students. The response of the test results in the form of dichotomous data and analyzed using the item response theory (IRT) model with two logistical parameters (2PL), namely the level of item difficulty and item discriminating power. Estimation of item parameters and capability parameters using the BILOG MG program. Before doing item analysis with IRT. The results of the study contained 18 items that could be used to measure students' numeracy skills. Among these items are numbered questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18. meet the criteria of a good item including having a good difficulty level, then the distinguishing power of the item functions well and has good validity and reliability.

Abstract

The digital era is a time when technological developments occur in all parts of the world. As a society that lives in this digital era, we should fallow the current technological developments that we feel. Utilizing technology to solve the problems in the world of education is a wise action. One of the uses of technology in education is to use creative learning video media based on computer technology using the powtoon aplication. The purpose of this research is to develop creative learning video media. The method used is the research and development method in class V SD Negeri 84 Kendari, using the DDD- E method. The data analysis technique used the analysis technique of validation result and the analysis technique of the questionnaire responses of teachers and students. It can be concluded that this creative learning video media MeJiKuHiBiNiUn feasible to be use in the learning process in the fifth grade of elementary school.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine students' basic algebraic abilities based on the analysis of the items (items) and the analysis of students' abilities (person) using the Rasch modeling. The instrument used was a test instrument in the form of multiple choices about algebraic material. This test was given to 662 students of class VIII and IX at SMP Negeri 5 Kendari. Data analysis was performed by RASCH modeling using the Winstep application.The results of the person analysis stated that the overall ability of the students was greater than the difficulty level of the questions. The basic Algebra ability possessed by all students are higher than the difficulty level of all the algebra questions tested. This shows that the consistency of students' answers in solving multiple choice questions on algebraic material according to the level of difficulty is strong or good, but the quality of the items used in collecting data on students' algebraic abilities is of moderate quality.
